Can somebody please walk me through the process of setting timers? I have a wrt54g router that I have 3 computers on. My computer (the brain) always need connection. The other two need to be limited so that my kids can't access them from 12:00 midnight to 7:00 am. I thought I did it right, but apparently I didn't because I was able to use my kidlets computers after midnight last night. I have it set at: Policy Name: No Access List of PC's: I entered the MAC Addresses and the IP Address for both computers that need restrictions; I didn't change the ranges though (was I supposed to?) Deny Sunday through Thursday 12:05 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. I have no idea of I did this right, but obviously I missed something since I was still able to get online..... Please advise, Thanks!
If I was your child, the first thing I would do is wirelessly connect to your neighbor's unsecured wireless router at 12:06 a.m. If I didn't have a wireless adapter, I would borrow a USB wireless adapter from a friend. Alternatively, I would fake a new MAC address or change the IP address in my computer. Tricks like these are commonly known by grade school and high school kids.
I am not trying to be funny, but I am trying to make a point. Trying to control your children's Internet access with your router is often a worthless exercise. Instead, I usually recommend that you use parental control software that is installed on the kid's computers. "Safe Eyes 5.0" recently won an Editor's Choice award from PC magazine.

Can you please walk me through the set-up recording my 3 part composition? I am going to use a different instrument for each part (track). First I record and pan track 1 (first part) to the left, 2nd track (2nd part left in the middle), third track (3rd part) panned to the right in stereo.So when its done it sounds as if 3 musicians are playing one on the left, one in the middle and on on the right. W.W.I have Trumpet Cornet and Trombone. Trombone in the middle, Trumpet on right and Cornet on the left. Am I correct they all are placed center when recorded one at a time and paned into position after?
When recorded them I was not able to pan any part. I also tryed to record each in mono after doing it in stereo before. Either way paning was not possible on any of my instrument parts. I need a stepp by stepp set-up of Garage Band 09 and my FireStudio Project interface. Thank you for your help.

I created an iMovie. When I try to export it crashes. Can any one walk me through the problem. In 3 hours, my mom's 80th b'day is taking place and this was one of the gifts.
All of the Spry files are missing and the basic_fs.css. It's a long list. If you use Chrome or Safari, you can view source (Safari) or Inspect Element (Chrome) and under Resources you will see the missing files highlighted.

I just set up an account at the I tunes store including authorization to charge my pay pal abount. I have also received e-mail confirmation that the account is set up, but every time I try to make a purchase I get a message that says apple ID has not yet been used with the I Tunes Store and it takes me back through the process of authorizing my paypay account. Help!
Once you purchase or download an app it will always be associated with the Apple ID used to download it. When that app requires and update you must use the Apple ID and password used to download it in the first place. The only way around this is to delete the apps the require the old Apple ID and download or purchase them again with the new Apple ID.

I suggest the first thing you will want to do is perform a complete power recycle of all your network components since you will want to introduce the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) into your network configuration.
Please try the following:
o Power-down the Motorola modem, AEBSn, and computer(s). Order is not critical.
o If not already, the following should be the network configuration: Modem > \[WAN port] AEBSn \[LAN port] > \[Ethernet port] Dell, where ">" = Ethernet patch cable. (Note: On the AEBSn, the WAN port is marked with a circle of dots; the LAN port is marked with a pair of opposing arrows.) You should configure your network while everything is powered down. I assume that you will be connecting your Mac wirelessly so no Ethernet connections will be necessary.
o While everything is still powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the AEBSn just to make sure it is in its original factory configuration. When complete, unplug the AEBSn from power.
o Power-on the Motorola modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Plug-in the AEBSn; wait at least 5-10 minutes. (Note: The AEBSn may still have a flashing amber status light. That is okay, as it is only telling you that it is not fully configured yet.)
o Power-on the computer(s).
In its default configuration, the AEBSn will perform as an Internet router. If all went well, you should be able to access the Internet from both the PC (by wire) and the Mac (wireless).

No, a 2nd Gen iPod can only go up to iOS4.2.1

If the menu bar is visible then use:
* View > Toolbars
If the menu bar is hidden and you have the orange Firefox button then use:

Here's the deal. I want to go to multiplayertrivia.com and play this interactive online trivia game, and I can't seem to get started. I know my computer is capable of this, because I signed up and used this "mirc" thing before when using a different internet provider, to play this same game. Current internet provider (comcast) refuses to help.

You do know tht if you created a new Apple ID - that is different than changing the Apple ID. Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to make the purchase. If the old ID is popping up, it seems like that ID is rid to the apps indicating that you created a new ID. Of course, I could be wrong or misunderstanding what you're saying as well.
If you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap your old ID and sign out and then sign in with the new ID, that should be all that you need to do, if you changed the ID. If you created a new ID, that will not work. -

Need to disonnect airport wifi option from timecapsule, keeping timecapsule as back-up. How to route from modem to iMac, to include timecapsule and printer?
All you need to do is bridge the TC.. you don't need to turn off the wireless as once in bridge it will direct wifi to the modem correctly.
If you are really on Leopard as your profile there suggests.. just open the airport utility. Manual setup.
Go to the internet tab.
Down the bottom .. connection sharing.
Select off, bridge mode.
Update the TC.
Then you can go to the wireless tab in the main airport section and change it to off.. or simply set it to a different channel manually and that will give you 5ghz access for other clients which the present modem is unlikely to do.

My logic board failed, and I need to buy an external hard drive. Can someone walk me through the process of doing this? Will the Genius Bar do it for free?
Also, I have a borrowed Mac right now. If I put the new hard drive on this computer will it erase the computer's current hard drive? Do I have to put the hard drive on another Mac?
Any help is greatly appreciated!if your logic board failed then connecting an ext. drive will be non productive.
if you take your hdd out of the failed mac and replace it into the borrowed mac you can then extract everything from that hdd. simply connect the external hdd, go into time machine preferences select your new ext. drive as the destination.
the external drive has to be formatted to mac os extended journaled. however you can purchase ext. drives already formatted for mac.
if you are having the logic board replaced then just put the old hdd back in, it will boot up normally.
you can rest easy knowing that if anything goes wrong, you have the ability to use your fresh backup to produce the same operating environment that you were using before things went wrong. -
I want to uninstall the new iOS update. can somebody please help?
I have a son that is disabled and he LOVES youtube. He has learned a lot navigating through the app. The new iOS update does not support that app. Why?? i dont know but I wish I never updated. I have no idea how to uninstall the update. Can somebody PLEASE help me??!!! Thank you so much!!
Just go to YouTube.com in safari and view the content that way. Create a shortcut on the home screen so you do not bleed to type in the address.

I am trying to restore my Calendar from my Time Machine back up. I can get through the process but at the end I get a message that Calendars cannot be removed or amended as it is required by OS10, there does not appear to be any option to authorise the backup or change. when i open iphoto i see my photo's for 1 second and then they are gone .The photo's are still there but i can see them only on the bottom or top of my screen when i try to open them i get a sign that it is not possible.Can somebody please help me?
Have you upgraded to iPhoto 9.6 for compatibility with Yosemite? If not, try that first.
It looks like iPhoto has lost the connection between the thumbnails and the original image files.
This can be caused by a corrupted iPhoto library, or the originals have been deleted or moved.
Try first to rebuild your iPhoto Library:
If you do not have a current backup of the iPhoto library, make a copy of the library, but do not overwrite any previous backup.
Launch iPhoto with the ⌥⌘-key combination (option-command) held down.
Select "rebuild" from the first aid panel. This may take a while for a large library.
Can you now see your photos again?
If not, rebuild the library with iPhoto Library manager as described by Old Toad: Re: iphoto crashed
