IVE LEFT IT LIKE THAT FOR AT 30MINS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. IVE TAKEN THE CORD OUT AND HAD TO TURN PHONE OFF AND RESTART, THEN LOAD IT BACK UP TO ITUNES ALL OVER AGAIN. MANY TIMES!!!!! You do realise that wiping the disk means that everything on the disk is erased. Everything. Photos, music, emails, ...
So the first piece of advice is to make sure you have a back up of everything.
You need the OS disk to reintsall the operating system. You will use that disk first to erase the drive, then to reinstall the OS.

Please help! I have been trying to update iTunes 10.5.3 and it wont work?
Please help! I have been trying to update my iTunes for a few months with no luck! I click install and it will make it to 10% then tells me it has been interupted, so i resume and then it pops up with "iTunesSetup.exe couldnt be downloaded." I have done the repair thing and still nothing! This is driving me crazy!! I need iTunes updated to update my iPhone.
If your profile is correct you are using 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. The latest iTunes version for that OS is 11.3.1 If your profile is wrong and you have 10.9.5 Mavericks, then the iTunes version is 11.4. You cannot use Mavericks versions on Snow Leopard.

I cannot open itunes on my windows (older verson of windows) It keeps saying short cut has change or moved and no longer working properly. I have tried to do a repair on the file but the computer wont let me. I have tried reinstalling itunes but still not working. I updated my iPad mini to ios 7.0.2 couple days ago. Everything was fine until yesterday. I noticed that it seemed to have a mind of its own. Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

What "child lock" are you talking about?
Do you mean you set up a Managed account (Parental Controls), or some other software?
For Parental Controls, select the account in Users & Groups and uncheck the "Enable parental controls" checkbox. -
