Can't access play store...

My wife cannot access play store from her incredible.  She forgot her password for her log in email.  She went on google to have password reset and it says account has been deleted and no longer recoverable.  So, she created a new google account on our mac but when she tries to access the play store on the phone it shows the old user name and won't let her type in the new one.  Anyone know how to regain access?  Thanks

Yes, you can export the contacts to the SD card. You can connect the phone to the computer as a disk drive and copy the contents of both the internal storage space and the external SD card to the computer. After the factory reset, you can copy it back to the phone.  I would suggest an application to help with backing up the SMS messages and possibly other information, but since you can't access the Play Store it makes the idea difficult to implement.

    In iTunes prefs>Store - is the Store check box unchecked?

    Same issue.  I emailed apple and they had me call apple.  Not really any help.  Did all the troubleshooting listed and to have further help diagnosing problems it isn't free.  I explained to the rep that I have seen others having same issues - he didn't know anything about.  This is first time I have had problems.  I can't even purchase song on my PC but can on my iphone.  I just would like to be able to access my account.  Afraid to sign out of itunes in case I can't even get to my library etc.

    If you look at the feed, and look at the entry 'The end to an exciting field season in Aulavik National Park' you will see the line:
    <pubDateFri, 29 Jul 2011 04:00:00 GMT</pubDate>
    You have not closed the 'pubdate' tag - there should be a '>' as the 9th character. Because the tag has been left open, it invalidates everything which follows it, and thus the entire feed. iTunes therefore cannot read it, which is why the Store has not updated. Add the '>' and republish, and all should be well.
    It's always worth checking your feed by subscribing manually, from the 'Advanced' menu, or by clicking the 'subscribe free' button on the Store page (both do the same thing) - if you can subscribe to the feed it should be OK.

    You may think you are connected to the internet, but maybe not. Click on Safari and see if it connects.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
