Can't configure xorg with any of the methods in the wiki...
I've installed arch on (yet another) old PC. I installed xorg, the drivers for my VGA (S3 Savage 4) and got to the point where I'm supposed to configure X.
Xorg -configure: Never worked for me, so it was no surprise it failed to work again.
hwd -xa: Tells me that no xserver is installed, but xorg IS installed, I've verified that I followed all the steps described in the wiki and I've never had to deal with this in the past
xorgcfg: It doesn't exist... it just doesn't exist... It's like it's not even installed, but I remember that it used to be automatically installed with xorg, now even though I installed xorg, it looks like it's not present any more.
xorgconfig: Same as xorgcfg.
Any ideas?
What xorg version are you using? Xorg -configure should give you a pretty basic xorg.conf (created first as xorg.conf.new, you would just have to copy it as xorg.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf), while hwd's not recognizing xorg-server is a known issue. If you can't get a xorg.conf through any of these means, just create one yourself (I created mine).

You could install Hal and see what it does for you, there are users that are running X without xorg.conf, for me Hal just replaced keyboard/pointer support. Sections DEVICE and SCREEN should be diferent for you, of course.

There is an international warranty on the Mac, but not on the iPhone...iPhone warranties are tied to the country of purchase. Iphone 5s are currently only available in the US tied to a carrier, you cannot use another nano-sim card in them.

I have my iTunes library on an external HD because it is too big for my iMAC 500GB HD. However, it is not backed up, so I need a solution to backup my external HD. Can I do this with any Apple cloud product or should I look elsewhere for cloud products? Will it be cheaper/easier just to buy another external HD to back up my existing external HD? Thanks

The ntfs hasn't seem to be causing any problems, but I've always wanted to know.
in order for your Mac to write to NTFS drives, it needs some help by installing e.g. the NTFS 3G driver. apparently that or something similar is installed on your Mac already. preferably, it would be formatted for Mac but then windows machines would need to have e.g. MacDrive installed to recognize the drive. -

With this cert, I want to make a SSL connection to some server with client authentication.
<CN=ps, OU=JurgenAgten, O=KUL, L=Leuven, C=BE> is included in the cacerts-file of the server.
<CN=ps, OU=JurgenAgten, O=KUL, L=Leuven, C=BE> (Part of trusted CA's) in my opinion match with <CN=ps, OU=JurgenAgten, O=KUL, L=Leuven, C=BE> (second certificate in certificatechain of <CN=realAnonym>).

On both, your client and your server, you should add your CA certificate to the trust set. You can first leave the client authentication aside, and do it on the client code to be sure the client authenticates the server's certificate properly; later you can add the same functionality to your server when checking the client certificate. The mechanism provided to deploy this, is either through system property javax.net.ssl.trustStore to introduce your truststore or introcuding your own trustmanager in the codes.
In case, you want to set it dynamically in the program code, you should consider using your extension of X509TrustManager() . Aussuming it be YourTrustManager, you go like this:

I recently replaced iPhoto with Aperture. When I download pics into Aperture they are place in a file that's called "Untitled Project." When I downloaded pics from my camera to iPhoto they were put in a file that was named with the download date (YYYY MM DD). Can I do that with Aperture (as the download default)?

When I import I have an Applescript that stores the images in a year month day folder-project structure so I haven;t used the default Aperture behavior in some time. When I tested it out to reply to you I was doing it from the file system and it picked up the date from the folder. mea culpa.
Anyway the closest you can get is to have Aperture split the images by date. IN the Aperture preferences set the project split granularity
Autosplit into Projects
and then in the import window set
Automatically split projects.
This will give projects named Month Day, Year (ie: Mar 13, 2012) there is no way to change this
As I said I have a script that runs on import and sets up a structure like:
Of course many here will say not to name projects this way, that Aperture has the ability to sort by date and you're better off naming projects something more meaningful. For them that is true and it might be for you also. For me I like to store my masters this way, it works for the way I shoot.
