Can't connect to HR schema

Hello I am working on Oracle By Example(OBE) Performing Backups and Recovering your Database using Oracle9i Recovery Manager. I am trying to connect to the HR schema.
When I enter this command from SQL*PLUS:
connect hr/[email protected] (I receive)
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
The HR schema is unlocked and ready to use....
What am I missing ???????
Thank you for your time...........

Check your tnsnames to see what your connect string should be. Do you have orcl.world listed? If not, change this to the connect string name you have.
Thanks
Marcie

  • Connecting to HR schema in Oracle SQL Developer

    I have installed Oracle sql developer 3.2 version.And I dont have oracle client installed.
    Can I connect to HR schema with this set up.
    If yes ,please suggest me the credentials.
    Thanks.

    You do not need any oracle client installed, you do however need a database somewhere to connect to.
    The credentials you require would be for this database, and so we cannot help you get them.
    If you have a DBA that manages your databases ask him for the credentials.
    If you are on your own and just want to try out something, your best option is to install an Oracle XE on your own system, then you can connect with the defaults SQLDeveloper already has when creating a new connection (the system password will be set during database installation so note it down), then you can play with your newly installed database.

  • Connecting to OE Schema

    I am learning Oracle SQL Fundamentals using OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-051) book by Oracle Press. I am trying to practice the Lab Questions.
    Can any one tell me what does it mean "connect to OE Schema"? How can I connect to that schema from SQL Developer? This schema seem to have a set of tables on which I can run the query and practice.
    Please guide, thanks!

    I recommend you review the [Getting Started|http://www.oracle.com/technology/getting-started/sqldev.html] section from the tutorials section on the SQL Developer homepage. In this Gettign Started material is a "How to Create a Connection", which should help you get going. The connection is for creating HR, and you need to create the connection for OE, which is just another schemar in the shipped Oracle schemas. You should have access to both these schemas(users) if you have a 10g or 11g database. OE is not available by default in XE. The getting started section should help you get going, or if the database is not yours, then ask for access to these schemas

  • Can't i use xml schema and oledb data connection at the same time?

    Hello to all and thanks in advance.I use xml schema and oledb data connection at the same time and the problem is that when I try to export the xml, the outcome is not what i expect.Without the oledb connection everything is ok (just the schema) and the xml complies with the schema.
    Can't i have both schema and oledb and the exported xml be as i want it?

    You can use both at the same time, but not gor Internet access if that's what you're asking.
    Now there is a thing called Link Aggregation, which combines a number of interfaces for speed/redundancy, but it really only works locally, and then only with ALL special equipment in the route, and most likely OSX Server involved.
    Sorry.

  • Outlook can't connect with Exchange 2013 after migration from Exchange 2007

    <style type="text/css">P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }</style>
    Hello,
    recently we've done a Exchange 2007 sp3 to 2013 sp1. Users can conect perfectly with OWA and with his iphone clients.
    But the problem is they can't connect from his Outlook clients (2010, 2013), both internaly and externaly. Always fails with the message: The Connection to Exchange it is not avaliable.... Can't resolve the name of Exchange server.
    To try to resolve it we've done:
    - Check Outlook anywhere configuration en EAC: it is configure with and external url mail.company.com and internal server.domain.local. The security is the default Negociation, but we've tried all.
    - Check the internal dns, there are records for mail.company.com and exchangeserverdomain.local pointing to the exchange local ip. Also there is a public zone company.com with the record mail.caompany.com pointing to the exchange local ip. Also we've made
    records autodiscover.company.com and autodiscover.domain.local pointing to the exchange local ip.
    - In the public dns from our domain there is the record A and MX pointing our public ip. There aren't any record Autodiscover but we think that the manial conection should work.
    Check certificates: we've made a new self-signed certificate including all this internal and external domains and for all services.
    - Check Outlook Anywhere block: we've cheked.
    Currently server state:
    - Old Exchange 07 server can't start, it was in very bad state and we achieved migrate the mailbox to the new server, after that we tried to uninstall, but it crashes with a public folder replication error. We got uninstall all the roles
    unless the mailbox. After a restart it can't start.
    -The new Exchange 2013 looks great, there isn't any trail of the old server, or we haven't seen anything in the EAC or shell.
    I paste below the result of Microsoft Remote conectivity analaizer, with Outlook anywhere test. It is clear that there is a problem with that.
    Sorry because the test is in spanish and I translated it with google, from here I only can access the tool in spanish.
    We continue to try to resolve the problem.
    Thanks to all in advance!

  • [SOLVED] Intel 7260 Vaio can't connect to wifi

    Hi there,
    First off, I should mention that I know my way around Linux but I'm pretty new to Arch, so there might be things that I know that don't apply here.
    So, I have this problem with this network, I can't connect to it and frankly I don't know why. I was on Ubuntu until a few days ago and I still had the problem. I posted on the Ubuntu forum >>here<< and I was told to upgrade, but as I've been willing to move to Arch for quite some time, I thought that was maybe the time. BUT, the problem is still there, which worries me.
    To sum it up, about one or two weeks ago, I was connecting fine to this network (ZyXEL) and then after a reboot, no way to connect to it, no matter what I try. I have noticed an error message that keeps coming back all the time (see below) and the wifi indicator in i3status sometimes flashes me with an IP while I'm trying to connect then eventually the network disappears (not with wicd, only nm). Those are basically the symptoms.
    $ dmesg | grep iwlwifi

    I have had troubles with the wifi in the past (from what I read on the internet, this card is not yet fully supported everywhere) but nothing like this. Usually, disconnecting and reconnecting did the trick, sometimes I had to restart NetworkManager in extreme cases, but nothing more.
    I tried a lot of things (modprobe, rfkill, firmware update, etc), rebooted everything I could but couldn't do anything. I have found bug reports and forums posts of similar problems but the solutions there either didn't work for me or the problem just seem to have disappeared for some people. I read that this card was not really supported before the kernel 3.11 or 3.13 but now I have 3.16 and it's still there. What's really bugging me is that I could successfully connect to this network a couple weeks ago...
    On the Ubuntu forum, they have a script that displays useful information when posting about wireless problems. I have taken off the Ubuntu specific bits and I think this will save you some time asking me to run commands. One thing is not mentioned in the script: I use wicd.

    I have the exact same problem, appeared completely random. I had several restarts this Christmas on the laptop, even after upgrades. I blamed the ath driver. But I noticed when I restart the router by plugging out it from the wall, then in again, sometimes it's working.
    I carefully changed every possible settings in the router, then I found if I disable IPv6 (yes, it's capable of that despite Sky does not provide IPv6 service) it started to work even after multiple reboots. It took mi a while since the new year.
    I'm using connman and when it was wrong, connman was completely frozen. If I entered "connmanctl scan wifi", it never quit. Same for "connmanctl state".
    I also noticed that the router LED was blinking continuously and on the laptop when I checked the connection status with ifconfig it showed very high usage of TX packets. It also blocked the whole wifi, so my phone was not able to access the internet. Strange problem, I'm unsure what caused it and not quite sure how disabling IPv6 solved it. But I'm also afraid that maybe somewhere else I can't disable IPv6 on the router.

  • Active Directory Services Can't Connect to Domain

    I removed Active Directory services form a server running 2012. I then went to reinstall and reconfigure it, but I keep running into issues. When I launch active directory admin center it gives me an error that it can't connect to any domain, and I can't
    make any changes. The local server has already been promoted to the domain controller. Here is the output from dcdiag:

    It was the only server in the network, the only dc in the old forest. When I re-installed ad ds I gave the new forest different name, but I guess the old settings are still in the system somewhere conflicting with the new setup? Is there a way to
    purge the old setup entirely and start over with ad ds, or am I going to have to re-install the whole OS? Thanks again for the help.
    Honestly, the best way to handle this is to rebuild the server. There are many things that are "left behind" when you remove the Domain / Forest from a Domain Controller. In fact many articles will say after using ADMT (active directory migration
    tool) you should decommission the original Domain Controller (aka reinstall the OS).
    While you could spend more time trying to get that domain controller working, it absolutely is going to be 1) More reliable 2) faster to reinstall the OS on the old domain controller. If you are still leveraging storage, or services on that domain controller,
    you will want to back them up, or have a transition plan before reinstalling everything on the server. I have a feeling if you choose to keep troubleshooting this, you will run into more issues down the road.

  • To access PD Repository, why do we have to connect to the schema owner?

    Hi
    we use Oracle for PD repository.  In order to connect to the repository, we create odbc connection to the repository schema owner.  The question is, can we create a application schema user and provide read/write privileges to the repository and then create odbc connection to this application schema instead of repository schema?
    thanks

    Hi Krishna,
    We create odbc connection to the repository schema owner.  The question is, can we create a application schema user and provide read/write privileges to the repository and then create odbc connection to this application schema instead of repository schema? Yes
    I suggest that you use the proxy rather than a direct connection. Search this topic in this forum.
    If you decide to keep your idea here's how :
    REPOSITORY_SCHEMA (OWNER SCHEMA):
    GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE ON EACH <PD TABLES> TO <APPLICATION_SCHEMA>
    (PD tables usually begin by PM%, actually PD does not use VIEW, SEQUENCE objects)
    On Application Schema : Create as many synonyms as there's table to go to the schema owner
    Example : CREATE SYNONYM PMTEMP FOR <OWNER_SCHEMA.PMTEMP>
    Ask to your Oracle DBA. It can do, he know how do.
    Warning : When you do an update of PD you will have to check if the privileges are gone,if SAP has added new tables, etc.
    I do not think it's a good idea to follow this path

  • Financial Reports error message Java API can't connect to olap

    Hi,
    On version 11.1.1.3, after reapplication of 11.1.1.3 because of other problems with shared services, get the following message on the diagnostics for the financial reporting server.
    Launch external checker with next command: E:\Hyperion\common\validation\9.5.0.0\launchEssbaseJavaAPI.bat EssbaseJAPIConnect admin ****** hypolap.msj.org http://hypapp2.msj.org:13080/aps/JAPI
    Error: Result: -1; Error message: Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials
    Recommended Action: Make sure external checker is working.
    Financial reports over the Web can not connect to the essbase server. Financial reports through the studio works fine. Any suggestions how to troubleshoot or resolve the issue with the login credentials for the Java API to essbase?

    Things to check -
    1) Does the user you specified in the connection have the role OLAP_USER
    2) Does the user you specified in the connection have access to an OLAP schema (analytic workspace or CWM2 ROLAP schema)
    3) Have you installed the correct JDBC files from your database instance into the BI Beans JDBC directory

  • Create a user that can only access to one schema - please help!!

    Hi all,
    I want to create one user in a Oracle DB that can only access to one schema. I did the following:
    CREATE USER "TEST" PROFILE "DEFAULT"
    IDENTIFIED BY "test" DEFAULT TABLESPACE "USERS"
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE "TEMP"
    ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    GRANT SELECT ON "TESTDTA"."F0007" TO "TEST"
    GRANT "CONNECT" TO "TEST";
    I have done a test and the user TEST can access all schemas, when I only gave explicit permissions to the schema TESTDTA.
    Any suggestion/clarification???
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Using connections with no schema

    Oracle Rdb can run in either multi-schema mode or in a mode where there are basically no schemas.
    When running in no schema mode I can turn off schema display in the connection drill-down tree by using the following rdb.xml
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <navigator>
    <connection id="Rdb"
    supportsOtherSchemas="false"
    showAllSchemas="false"
    supportsCatalog="false"
    connectionTabName="OracleRdb"
    However when I drag/drop a table from the connection tree panel into the SQL worksheet, SQLDeveloper insists that the table is prefixed by a schema name (ie my connection user name)
    eg
    select from "murray".EMPLOYEES;
    anyone know how to turn off this auto-prefixing so that it simple drops the following :
    select from EMPLOYEES;
    any help will be appreciated

    Because I send the XML in different formats for different points, wait a minute, do you mean I can use XSLT instead, how this will be with JAXB ?Yes. you can use XSLT. First you generate the XML using JAXB and apply XSLT to convert to other format. Finally you return as String from web service.
    and if I still want to use different xml schemas with JAXB marashalling how gona to do this ?Its like creating different XML object (JAXB object) and returning it from the web service. The difference from above is: above return String from web service and this returns JAXB XML object. Ultimately, its the XML travel over the wire and client does not get affected.
    Another suggestion is that you should rethink of your approach of having different XML structure. Its the same data you are sending out of the system.

  • Can't connect my Ipod Touch 2nd gen to home wireless network - please help

    I have just received a 2G ipod touch today and it will not connect to my home network. I have a SKY Netgear router with numerous devices wirelessly connected with WPA security. I have input the shared network key when my Ipod asks for a password but it will not connect (even if I am stood next to my router). I just get "Unable to join the network .........". I have tried connecting via the 'other' network route but still the same result. Please help.

    Here's a few things you can do to get to the bottom of the problem:
    - Have you ever connected to a public hotspot? The only reason I ask is this will rule out hardware problems. If you are not close to anything, download and install the free app WiFinder from the app store. Once you have the app installed, you see what networks are around you. If nothing is working, contact Apple and either visit the Genius Bar or return it Apple.
    - If you have disabled encryption in your router and you are still be prompted for a password, you need to tap on that network name and tap Forget Network. And to really make sure everything is cleaned out, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings.
    - After your iPod restarts, use WiFinder to find your network. WiFinder will tell you whether or not you have encryption on or off and the type of encryption used. If it is still off, just tap the Connect button. If you have turned it back on, go to Settings > WiFi > Other network and enter your network name. You will be prompted for your encryption scheme and your password. WPA and WPA2 should have a password entered. WEP should have the hex key entered.
    - If you still can't connect, I would check and reenter my password. Passwords are case sensitive.
    - Assuming you have connected, tap the blue arrow (>) next to your network name. You should see your IP address, subnet mask, router IP address, and DNS router addresses, you are good to go.
    - If you have an IP address of 169.x.x.x, your router is not supplying an IP address. Recommend router settings are:
    SSID - on
    DHCP - on
    MAC filtering - off
    Encryption - on and set to WPA or WPA2
    DNS - automatic from ISP

  • Airport Express 7.6.2 Can't Connect iPhone 4

    Just purchased a new Airport Express (2nd gen), 7.6.2 firmware.
    No iPhone 4 or 4S can connect. Neither can a 2011 Macbook Pro, only my 2011 Macbook Pro can connect.
    I've replaced the router.
    My iPhone 4 can see the network, and appears to be able to join it sometimes, but never gets an IP address assigned. When the network name is tapped, it shows the "processing/thinking" swirly circle infinitely, and never can actually connect.
    I've turned off security. I've messed with 5 and 2.4 settings and a/b/g/n settings. Nothing is working. Help!

    Seriously? Everything is communicating as usual on their network and a reboot is perscribed?
    Okay. I'm also having this issue. Nothing has changed on my network. My daughters' notebooks, my son's PC, my server, my workstation, my notebook, my netbook, my xbox 360, my PS3 and any of the twelve refurbished PCs I have for sale in my shop (I work from home with my shop attached to my house) all connect without fail. I have up to 253 devices alloted for in my IP scheme within my router and I even went as far as to assign my iPhone a static IP address with all of the correct gateway and DNS info. I get no WiFi connection at all; I only see an indication of 3G. When I go back to DHCP and an IP address is shown, it is 169.254.168.99 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 and no other info.
    Any real help would be greatly appreciated.
