  • How can i connect to SQL Server 7.0 on Windons Using JDBC

    How can i connect to Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 on a windows enviroment ?
    in sql server 2000 some jar files are required that is
    What you need to do is actually add all three jar files to your class path individually. There are three jar files that come with this driver the msbase.jar, msutil.jar, and mssqlserver.jar. for sqlQ server 2000.
    now the problem is that i cant find these files on my system. firstly where these files will be located. secondly are they will be used to connect to SQL Server 7.0. thirdly if not what is the procedure.
    My next Problem is that I have Websphere Studio Application Developer. in which their is this facility of Database Webpages its like a wizard which makes automatically beans servlets and JSP but before that you need a Driver Name and and Class Name for to Connect to the Database.
    Can you tell what is the specific Driver Path for the Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 . secondly is this the class which is used to connect to SQL server 7.0 "com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" where can i find this one. for SQL server 7.0.
    please provide some guidance in this regard.

    You can search for the JDBC drivers at, http://industry.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers
    All the three jars that you specified are part of MsSQL Server jdbc driver. You need them (in the classpath) to get connected to the database.
    "com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" is the class in mssqlserver.jar. This is the driver class which will be used to get connected to the database.
    You can search in this forum for writting jdbc code (for Sql Server). If you don't find these jars, give me your e-mail id.

  • Sql developer 1.5.4 can't connect to SQL Server: "SSPI library not loaded"

    Hi,
    as Dana N. pointed out in her thread (Re: How do I make a connection to SQL Server Express using SQL Developer 1.5.3? I get the same error:
    error: Status: Failure test failed I/O error: SSO failed: Native SSPI library not loaded. Check the java.library.path system property
    But ... I'm on sql developer 1.5.4.59.40 and tried with both the jtds from the download via "Help -> Check for updates" and the jtds-1.2.2-dist.zip from sourceforge. Both times I configured the 3rd-party-driver in "Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Third Party JDBC Drivers" as described in http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/08-may/o38sql.html.
    The error above remains.
    Can someone please give a hint on "java.library.path system property"?
    Where can you find it?
    Regards,
    Frank.

    Hi Frank
    This message means that the driver code is unable to locate a DLL to load up and use. Looking at the message I suspect that the DLL in question <jtds-dist>\SSO\ntlmauth.dll .
    There are a couple of ways of making the Java VM locate the DLL, assuming you are using windows then the easiest would be to add the directory <jtds-dist>\SSO to you path environment (replacing <jtds-dist> with the actual path to your JTDS distribution).

  • How can I  connect to SQL server database thru local network by using JSP?

    I'm currently doing a project by using JSP..And I need to display record from the SQL Server database in our school's local network. May I know how can I do that? How can I write the code so that I can able to access the SQL Server databsase Throught school's network by using JSP? Please tell me step by step how can I do that. I'm using Tomcat 4.1 as Web Server. And I had J2SE and J2EE installed in my computer.

    first you have to establish a ODBC DSN on your computer,
    that connects to the database...you can do that from your control pannel.
    i assume that the TOMCAT server is residing on your computer....(if the webserver is in other computer then you would have to create a System DSN on the data sources ODBC option in the settings>control pannel of that machine)
    then you can use that DSN name to connect to the data base from the class file....for further assistance on how to create the class that access the tutorials in sun site.

  • Can't connect to sql server 2008

    Hi.
    I have 2 databases running, oracle 10g express and sql server 2008 express.
    I can connect with sql developer to the oracle database, but cant establish a connection to the sql server database.
    Using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio i can access the database using the same parameters as in sql developer.
    I already downloaded the third party driver to access sql server databases.

    I found this solution out there on the Internet...
    http://djiang.wordpress.com/2007/02/27/using-oracle-sqldeveloper-to-access-sqlserver/
    This might help someone else, it worked for me!
    Use this connection settings:
    Connection Name: MyDataBaseName
    Username: user
    Password: password
    Hostname: localhost
    Port:1433/databaseName;instance=SQLEXPRESS

    The driver connects to the default database of the user used to connect to the server, unless otherwise specified this is the table 'master'
    to connect to your 'test' database, change your connectstring so it includes the database name. Also (but this is a question of flavour I think), I prefer to provide the user and password as separate parameters:
    String user = "sa";
    String pass = "****";
    String cUrl = "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;DatabaseName=test";
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection (cUrl, user, pass);

    I using SQL 2000 on Server 2012 in named instance. when i connect locally, it's ok, but when try to connect from network it generates error [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

    Hi Sayed Abdul Latif,
    As other post, SQL Server 2000 was out of support since April,2013. You can try to install SQL Server 2005 or later version. In addition, since the issue regards SQL Server Data Access. I will help you post the question in the related forums. It is appropriate
    and more experts will assist you.
    According to your description, you can only connect to SQL Server locally, I recommend you check if the TCP/IP and Named Pipes are enabled in SQL Server Configuration Manager. And the SQL Server is set to allow remote connection. Then restart the SQL Service
    and check if you can connect to SQL Server remotely.
    Additionally, we also need to verify if the SQL Server named instance is in a cluster, and connect to it by using the "servername\instancename" syntax, then you receive the above error message. If yes, you have to hardcode the TCP port or the Named Pipe
    of the SQL Server named instance. For more information, you can review the following article.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888228/en-us

  • Cannot connect to SQL Server databases

    All of a sudden I can't connect to SQL server databases from
    my local machine. The databases are on a web server. It just
    started happening, and I never had a problem with it before. I
    can't connect to them in the coldfusion administrator, and I can't
    connect to them using ODBC DSN's either. Has anyone ever run into
    this before? I didn't change anything in the cf admin, and I
    certainly didn't change any logins or passwords in SQL
    Server.

    I've been experiencing a similar problem. Everything was fine
    but I had to reboot CF 8.01.
    After the reboot all the datasources are very slow to respond
    and we get lots of errors of the form :
    Timed out trying to establish connection
    A non-SQL error occurred while requesting a connection from
    blah
    Timed out trying to establish connection
    A non-SQL error occurred while requesting a connection from
    blah
    Everything is working but very slow on database queries. This
    happened a couple of months ago when we last
    rebooted and then it went away.
    Going to have a look for a new JDBC driver from adobe and see
    if that helps ....

    Hi Rahul.U,
    Are you able to connect to SQL Server successfully from SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) when enforcing encryption?
    According to above error message, it could be caused by the inappropriate server name or incorrect TrustServerCertificate configuration in the connection string from Visual Studio. There are some proposals for you troubleshooting this error.
    1. Make sure that you connect to the SQL server using the fully qualified domain name (FQDN).
    2. When connecting to a SQL Server instance with a valid certificate, please add the
    TrustServerCertificate
    parameter and set it to true in the connection string. For more details, please review this
    article.
    However, if you can successfully connect to SQL Server via SSMS, but still fail to connect to SQL Server from Visual Studio, I would like to recommend you post the question in the .Net Framework forum at
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?category=netdevelopment . It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.

    Hi DianaWeb,
    It's glad to hear that your problem is resolved by changing the windows authentication into mixed authentication and use 'sa' user, namely an SQL Server authentication.
    I believe the user name and password in the Netbean are for SQL Server Authentication to connect to SQL Server. The windows authentication you typed is not a valid SQL Server Authentication, that was why the connection failed.
    In any case, if you want your J2EE project connects to SQL Server using Windows authentication(credentials of the user running Tomcat/Jboss where your application is deployed). Just build your JDBC URL like this:
    jdbc:sqlserver://localhost;integratedSecurity=true;
    See
    Can I connect to SQL Server using Windows Authentication from Java EE webapp?

  • DSNless connection to SQL Server and Oracle

    hi,
    how can i connect to SQl Server and Oracle without specifying the DSN.
    zulfgi

    My favorite reply again:
    Someone wrote in a newsgroup about configuring some kind of "temporary DSN".
    His example was for Excel, but it will maybe work the same way for other drivers:
    db = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DBQ=c:/temp/test2.xls;DriverID=22;READONLY=false","","");
    Also someone else suggested for SQLServer:
    db = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:Driver={SQL Server};Server=MyServerName;Database=MyDataBase","","");
    Find out the right driver clause for Oracle; look at the names the control panel ODBC manager shows.
