Can't create a .war file....

Hi,
I feel a little stupid but I can't create a .war file.
I'm under the folder tuto which contains WEB-INF and index.html
and I write this instruction on the command line:
C:\tomcat\tuto>jar -cvfM ../tuto.war
Unfortunately, it's not accepted.
Can you help me please?

In fact, it doesn't change anything to remplace ../tuto.war by ..\tuto.war.
I suppose the root cause isn't at this level because when I write just the following
C:\tomcat\webapps\tuto>jar -cvf tuto.war
I obtain exactly the same message:

i had searched the forums but that did not help me.
i used this command
C:\My Project\source>jar cvf MyProj.war
'c' flag requires that input files be specified!

If any file is a directory then it is processed recursively.

Example 1: to archive two class files into an archive called classes.jar:
jar cvf classes.jar Foo.class Bar.class
Example 2: use an existing manifest file 'mymanifest' and archive all the
files in the foo/ directory into 'classes.jar':

You are nearly there already and the error message is telling you exactly what is missing from your command.
Try
jar cvf MyProj.war file1.class file2.class
or maybe
jar cvf MyProj.war classes/*.class
or even
jar cvf MyProj.war classes/
etc
All the info is in the output you supplied!

How can I create an Excel file using Forms 6i.
What I'm doing is to create a file using TEXT_IO package an name it .XLS. If a read it double-clicking over the file, it opens Ok but If I open directly from Excel it opens the Convert dialog.
I need to create an excel file as it was made from within Excel.

When you are talking about subfiles, are you talking like Package contents of an application?
Terminal application in Applications -> Utilities can give a command line grasp of all your files using the du command.
Type
man du
when entering the terminal, followed by the enter key.
Note, by default the terminal opens at the Home folder. To navigate outside the Home folder enter "/Volumes/name of mounted drive/folder/subfolder" as your path. If there are spaces in the name, putting quotes around the whole path can help. If you end your du command with a > name.txt a text file with the name name.txt will be plugged into your Home directory. That you can open with Excel and parse by /es thus giving you everything in Excel.

Make the tab control a control and not an indicator. If you want to write
to it you need to create a local variable.

To compress a 'abc' web application into a "Web Archive" file named abc.war, follow the steps below:
1> Open a command prompt and cd to the application's dir:
<TOMCAT_HOME>\webapps\abc
2> Use the java archive command 'jar' to bundle up your application:
jar -cvf abc.war *
3> Move this to any other server and work with it!! :)

I am attempting to run the test_fwktutorial.jsp within the toolbox.jws/Tutorial.jpr project in Jdeveloper . We have to provide the Oracle application DB connection in the project properties ( we have to provide this as a DBC file) . How can we create the dbc file from the Database connection ? i tried to export the DB connection in Jdev , but it is getting exported to xml file rather than dbc file . Please help to fix this.

Yes, you can do that.
Put both the DBC files under dbc_files\secure folder.
You can change the dbc files from project settings and point to the desired file.
I am not sure, but maybe you need to stop JDevloper and start again for the new DBC file to take effect.

This is right provided you have installed the webserver & app server
on the same machine and the port number for the web server is 80 by
default.

Update to Muse 2.3 Crashes. Windows 7 x64. "openCreate can't create database over file..."

I updated to Muse 2.3. Everytime I open an old site or create a new one then try to save or save site as, I get error message "openCreate can't create database over file that already exists"
I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling Muse and Air (a couple of times). Also tried the cleaner.
Any suggestions? Of course a tad urgent. Muse is great program, but its usefulness seems to be inversely proportional to the urgency of need.

Thanks Zak for getting back to me so quickly. I seem to have solved the problem (fingers crossed).
I restored my Windows 7 system to a point before I installed the latest update to Muse (2.3) [the restore also went back before large windows update that happened this week]. I tried to start Muse up and I got an error message saying it was a damaged installation. I uninstalled then reinstalled AIR. Then I reinstalled Muse. Seem to be working fine now.
The only thing I can think that happened to mess things up was that I used the Cleaner after I uninstalled Muse originally? I used it for the CS6 version. I noticed that Muse was listed under my CS 5.5 installation too (I think it said Muse 16 - maybe v1 or the beta?). I uninstalled that too so maybe I had a corrupted installation from earlier or the beta still hanging around my system?
I really appreciate the prompt support. I will let you know if anything else happens - let me know if you'd like any more info.

In the export settings there is a panel called Compression. You can set downsampling and compression, or lack thereof, there.

Get to the command prompt
change directories to the directory where the main class resides.
Open your text editor and type the following in it:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Main-Class: NameOfMainClass //Just name without ".class"!!!
Created-By: Your Name Here
Save this file as whatever you want to name it with ".mf" as the extension.
Then go back into the command prompt and type the following:
jar cfm "NameOfJarFile".jar "NameOfManifestFile".mf *.class
(without the quote marks of course)
Hit "Enter"
This will jar it up and make it executable.
If you have any images associated with the program you can add them in the same way as above. Just add *.gif or *.jpg after the *.class portion.
