Can't create shared project in MII
The MII architect is trying to create a shared project in the Workbench and is receiving an error. It looks to me they have something already checked out and thus cannot create the project. Could this be something wrong in the NWDI/MII configuration. Any suggestions on what I can do to find the cause?
Here is the error:
Error while creating the Project hierarchysahad
[EXCEPTION]
com.sap.xmii.contentmanagement.exception.ContentManagementException: Cannot create resource sap.com.miitest1; parent resource is checked out for create in a separate activity
Thanks!
Hi,
The CE/MII system is running NW 7.11 SPS7
The NWDI system 7.0 EHP1 SP3
We are creating a shared project in the MII Workbench within the "File" menu "Created Shared Project".
I'm the Technical BASIS lead here and the MII team is saying this error is a system error. I don't know enough about MII and the development environment to argue this point.

Can't create new projects in RoboHelp HTML 7
When I try to create a new projects in RoboHelp HTML 7, the
Projects Type field is blank on the New tab of hte New Project
dialog box. I just bought this product after using the trial
version for 30 days. I can open the projects I created before but
can't create new projects. Help! I need it now!OK, this problem is solved -- the problem was RoboSource
Control 3.1. I realized that I had installed RoboSource Control 3.1
during my Trial install (the option to install it is checked by
default). By re-running the Trial download (thank God I saved it) I
was able to uninstall RoboSource Control 3.1. (I could not
uninstall it using the Tech Comm Suite installer or the Add/Remove
function in the Windows Control Panel)
Then I ran the Tech Comm Suite install and reinstalled
RoboHelp 7 (without installing RoboSource Control 3.1).
Now RoboHelp 7 HTML works again. Note that only the HTML
version was screwed up -- the Word version ran OK, I just don't
need it.
Finally, I just want to say, Adobe Tech Support *SUCKS*.
After spending a half hour on my initial call on Sept. 26th, "Ken"
directed me to the Adobe Support web page and told me to enter my
problem myself -- thanks for nothing, Ken. He promised a 24 hour
turn around, which did not happen.
When I called back on Sept. 29th, I wasted another hour with
Natasha and Sam, who had me run CSClean, which wiped out my
registry entries for Acrobat and Photoshop, forcing a reinstall of
those products. Of course, that did not help me at all.
Adobe, please stop outsourcing your Tech Support to India --
those guys know nothing!
The replies to this issue on the "Customer Support Portal"
have been slow, indifferent and unhelpful. Shame on them!
I'm posting this fix to this problem on this Forum, so the
next poor slob may be able to fix their problem themselves as I
did, 'cause Tech Support sure won't help! -

Can't create new project or open a project - hangs & crashes every time
I installed PRE8 last night. I can launch the app and get the welcome screen. When I click Create New Project, it initializes the application and opens the window/shell for the PRE8 app with the menu bar at the top, but never actually opens the new project. I can open the menus in the menu bar, but most of the options are grayed out. If I try to start a New Project from the File menu, nothing happens. When I close the application, I get the crash report dialog (crash data below). I am not using NVIDIA video card/drivers (ATI Radeon 1150). Machine is a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop, AMD Athlon X2 running Vista home premium. I have done 2 full uninstalls and reinstalls of PRE8 and installed the update to 8.0.1, but I keep getting the same problem. I can never actually open a project, which makes this software pretty darn useless. Any suggestions?

How can i create a project with my exisiting java code
Hi All,
I have a source code of one project and i want to execute this in jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 version.
can u please suggest me how can i execute that project
its using struts and ejb's
i need clear steps of this.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
588872Under file->new->Projects you'll find two options that are relevant to you:
One is called project from WAR file - this will allow you to point to a project that has been packaged as a WAR and will create a JDeveloper project for it.
The other option is called "Project from existing source" this will allow you to point to your existing code directory and will create the JDeveloper project for this.
After you created the project, you might want to do a bit of tweaking under the project properties->content and sub categories for Web content, resources etc...
And you might also need to add any missing JAR files you are depending on to the libraries node of your project properties. -
Encore CS4 can't create a project with Snow Leopard
After many crashes on a Windows XP 64Bit Dell workstation trying to render a project, I thought I would create the project from scratch on my MacBook Pro 17" with Snow Leopard installed. I get a strange string error message trying to create a new project. It goes back to the welcome screen and I try to open the project it just created. I get a second error message that the project was created with Windows and can't be opened with a Mac. Strange. Then I get a third message saying an input contract violation has occurred. I guess I'm in trouble somehow for this . I think I was successful at creating a service issue with this, but I only grabbed the first error message at that time.
I'll attach the messages here....
RickSorry to say, no I have not. I was able to complete the work on my Windows XP 64Bit system.
The MacBook is my personal laptop, but I use it as backup to what I am doing on the workstation.
I was sent some info on permissions and maybe starting in safe mode. I don't know that "safe mode" exists on a Mac, and I am the only owner/user on it. Permissions should not be an issue. No time right now to do an uninstall/reinstall, but that's what I was thinking of doing.
It tells me I can't create the file, yet it appears in the folder. Then I try to open it and it says it was created with a Windows machine. Neat trick.
I just tried again, no luck. -
Can I create a project that dynamically pulls in outside content.
I need to create a project that has a block of information
via an image or a html block that can reference information outside
of the project. The idea here is I want to include Images that
drive users to other presentations, but would like to make those
blocks dynamic, such that I can modify the block outside and not
have to edit and re-generate the presentation from
Captivate. The generic answer to your question is that Captivate does
not have dynamic load capability.
You would need to create that functionality in Flash and
import it into Captivate as an animation. The process is fairly
straightforward and any decent Flash developer could do it for you.
And, as Rick alluded to, Paul Dewhurst is a very decent Flash
developer.
The only really tricky part seems to be making sure the Flash
animation takes into account the internal structure of the
published Captivate project. Published Captivate projects have a
predefined layer order that may affect what you're trying to
do. -
Can't create JavaFX project in Eclipse
JavaFX 1.2 and Eclipse Ganymede with JavaFX plugin
There's an error in the project dialog saying the JavaFX SDK location was not found
I saw something possibly related in the Release notes
http://www.javafx.com/docs/gettingstarted/eclipse-plugin/release-notes.jsp
However, this kind of error scares me away from using JavaFX if I can't create any
applications without applying some workaroundsHave you set the JAVAFX_HOME environment variable as specified?
Maybe it should have been set by the JavaFX installer, but otherwise, I don't see that as a kludge from the Eclipse plug-in point of view, as if it is not set, I don't see how it could guess the location.
And well, if you are afraid of bugs and workarounds, you should avoid JavaFX, indeed, at least until next year... :-)
The platform is still a bit green; some even say it is still beta but I find it, and lot of other people too, already very usable. -
Can not create in Project Express CI
I've created a new CI directly out of the Project_Express component, using all default values. Seems like this interface can not be used to create a record. If this is the case, what component can I use as a CI to create a project costing record? If not, how can I change my CI to make it create a record? Thanks in advanced.
Hello,
what is the error you got?
try to delete .dtc folder from your installation drive complately and import configuration from dtr and create project again. If you still face error , it might be permission issue.
Post the error such that we can analyze the issue.

I can not seem to create a shared folder. What am I doing wrong?
I select the "Sharing" tab and program displays "Connecting to Library" (retrieving latest shared activity) for several minutes and then displays a button "Start Sharing". Depressing the button brings up a window to enter a "Shared Album Name". To (list of who to share it with), and an optional comment box,
If a provide a name (Photos), and provide a "To", then when I press "Create" the screen just goes back to "Start Sharing"
Help, pleaseI figured it out. It's odd though. It was allowing me to see and operate the folders on the MBP using an older username from one of my prior OSs. My new Mavericks username is different than whet the permissions on the MBP were set to. Once I set up permissions on the MBP using the username that appears on my iMac Mavericks' in the User folder, it allowed me to create the folder. Strange though that it would let me connect and share without the new username.
NOT SOLVED. . It still doesnt work. I mistakenly created the folder in my own User Music folder on the iMac by mistake -
Can't create Webservice Project
Hi All,
I want to create web services to communicate with SAP. Problem is that I can't even seem to find a way to create a web service project. When I look under Web Services I only find ''Deployable Proxy Project' and 'Standalone Proxy' project. I was expecting 'Java Project'.
Did I miss some configuration or something else?
Thanks in advance,
JeschaelHi Jeschael,
You want to create a webservice client application. Therefor you choose to create a new web services project.
These exist in two flavors:
1. Deployable proxy project: web service client proxy that must be deployed to the J2EE engine to function correctly
2. Standalone proxy project: web service client proxy that can function without the J2EE engine, for instance in a standalone java application.

Re: Can't create application project using libraries with the SunStudio Tool C.
If function "test" is called from a module written in a different language, you might be seeing a difference in the external (linker) name created for the function by different languages.
To mix C, C++ and Fortran, follow the rules in the Fortran Programming Guide, chapter 11 "C-Fortran Interface", for calling functions written in C, or for creating subroutines and functions to be called from C.
In C++ code, declare or define the function as extern "C". Then the external name of the function will be spelled the same in all three languages.
Example, where test() is written in Fortran and called from C++:
f1.f
SUBROUTINE test
BIND(C) test
f2.cc
extern "C" void test()
int main()
test();
}In addition, don't forget you need to add the option -xlang=f90 or -xlang=f95 to the CC command that links the final program.
Edited by: clamage45 on Apr 16, 2009 11:09 AMsorry my fault, the subprojects were still configured to GNU in the "Tool Collection" in the output I posted.
i now opened each subproject and made sure it is set to SunStudio just like my main project, but I still have the same error. here is my output:

Can't create shared quicktimes from my iMovie file...Any ideas?
This just started. I've just finished a project and wanted to create a compressed QT for emailing. I went through the 'share' process + got a message that the "disk was locked or full". It wouldn't compress to any format. Up until now it had been workin fine...Any thoughts, anyone?
Thanks"disk full" means: no more space on drive...
switch to Finder
select your harddrive by clicking once
hit Apple-i
read in info window, how much space is free....
get rid of some zillion files (video+laptop=need for an external hd...)
try again...
