Can't display chinese language when export PDF
Hi,
I am using Crystal Report for Visual Studio 2010 to develop a report application.
The database characert code is UTF-8.
When crystal report export to RTF file, it works fine.
but when export to PDF, the chinse character is not able to show.
I am wonder does crystal report support Asain language or not.
My OS server is windows 2008 sever (English).
Hi Bobo,
Is this a Windows or a WEB app?
32 or 64 bit app?
Which Font did you select, try using a Unicode True Type font like MS Ariel Unicode in the report object Font properties as a test to see if that works.
What DB and Client are you using?

Can't Choose Page Range when Exporting PDF from InDesign
Hi! Ever since I upgraded to CS6 via your subscription, I can't choose a page-range when exporting to PDF from InDesign (8.0.1). Here's a video demonstration of the problem so you can see the bug in action: http://screencast.com/t/kYR1ACtNi
Are you aware of this bug? If it's not a bug, how do I fix it?Alternate layouts are used for things like horizontal and vertical orientations of the same layout for use on tablets. I suspect there's some coverage in the Help files -- being a print guy I don't mess with them.
It may be that you only have one layout and ID just shows you that one inthe dropdown. I can't recall that I ever used the dropdown to try to select the range -- I always just type what I need in the field. -
Hi.
This is for Ebook conversion purpose, Currently am doing the text accuracy for English(EN) and Latin(EU) books using Acrobat 11 Pro application with Source and Converted PDF(final output of epub/mobi).
Similarly am trying to find the text accuracy for Chinese language books using PDF compare process, When i attempt, could see the compare report in PDF format for CN books, but i cannot catch the any text errors in it. Please advise and help me out whether i need to go for different version of acrobat or do i need to add any plug-ins with respect to language or chinese fonts here.Could any one please advise me on my question, so that it will be helpful to purchase the correct application before i go forward.

SRVE0199E: OutputStream already obtained when exporting pdf
Hi,
I am have a problem when export pdf file from a web application. When I build with tomcat every works fine, but when deployed in Websphere. The problem occurred. It is that the exception stack being attached at the end of pdf file which prevents Adobe Acrobat 7 from open and displaying message like the file is damaged and could not be repaired. This is the exception stack,

document.add(para);
} catch (DocumentException e1) {

} catch (IOException e1) {
e1.printStackTrace();
document.close();
please help me out because this is an urgent issue. Thanks.I didn't put this code within JSP, but inside javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagSupport. Is this the same as in JSP?
While waiting for the answer, I also find that in TagSupport, there is a member variable, pageContext, that also has pageContext.getOut() which is a JspWriter. This is used to export to excel. But for exporting to pdf, i used PdfWriter.getInstance(document, res.getOutputStream()); and res = pageContext.getResponse();
is this the main reason? -
DSO content can't display Chinese character
Hello experts,
I extract data from non-sap system (non-unicode) to BW DSO (7.0 unicode).
The DTP, data extraction and the activation all work fine.
However, the content of the DSO can't display the Chinese character.
Is there any setting I miss?
How can it display Chinese character as the data in source system?
Any information is very appreciated.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Make sure Chinese Language Patch applied on BW system. You can see Chinese does not mean Chinese Language Patch applied.
However, even if Language Patch is not applied, you still can see Chinese in reports via Portal.
Good luck

How to create a hyperlink when exporting .pdf?
Hi guys,
I've been doing quite a bit of research on how to make an object into a hyperlink when exporting my .ai as .pdf.
So far I've come across guides that show the method of using Object > Slice and the Attributes' Image Map, but none of them seem to work when I open my exported .pdf.
How do you guys create objects with links when exporting .pdf?
Thanks in advance.InDesign, most probably.
Or create the PDF in Illustrator and use Acrobat (Pro) afterwards to make links.
Depends on what's inside the document. -
Mac OS 10.5.2 English Version can't identify Chinese font when I access OWA
I have a question that is Mac OS 10.5.2 English Version can't identify Chinese font when I access Microsoft OWA. (OWA version is 2003)
When I access Microsoft OWA, I can see English fonts very well.
But I will see Chinese fonts as ??? and I can not see them at all.
I have tried solutions below:
(1) Install Firefox 2.0.X and Internet Explorer 5.2.2 but still can not see
Chinese fonts at all.
(2) I change the text encoding to BIG-5 code or UTF-8 but still invalid.
Is there anything I can do??Is there anything I can do??
What is the result with Safari?
Try FireFox 3 beta:
http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/all-beta.html
Try Opera:
http://www.opera.com/
With all browsers make sure you try all Chinese encodings (Traditional Big 5, Traditional Windows, Simplified GB 2312, Simplified GB 18030) plus UTF-8 and (if available) UTF-16.
Also you might ask on the Chinese Mac mailing list:
http://groups.google.com/group/chinesemac/
Is there a MS forum on Outlook Web Access where you can ask? -

Can't shown chinese text when copy & paste data from server to Outlook, Word & notepad, etc.( Office 2013)
Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, when you copy & paste a data from server to Outlook, word, notepad, then you do not receive the Chinese text.
For Outlook, please follow these steps: -
Close and reopen Outlook in your western locale (or switch the windows system to your Western locale if you changed that),
Manually change the message from Western to Chinese encoding, which you can do in all versions up to Outlook 2007.
If you want to stay in your Chinese locale in Outlook 2007, then:
After you hit reply, go to the Option tab > More Options.
In the Encoding drop-down menu, select the Chinese encoding you are working in (Not the encoding used by the person who will receive the message)
Note:
To set the Chinese locale in all versions up to 2007 the controls are under.
Tools > Options. In Outlook 2010 File tab > Options > Advanced > International options.
Unicode (UTF-8)
is a good setting for multilingual users.
Check the
Auto select 2007)/ Automatically select (2010) encoding box.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
Thanks and regards

How can I cancel my subscription of export pdf which I bought by mistake?
HOw can I cancel my subscription of export pdf which I bought by mistake
Hi Nathalieschembri,
I've checked your account, but don't see any order history under the email address you use here in the forums. Is it possible that you used a different email address or purchased ExportPDF as in in-app purchase from the Reader mobile app? (For the latter, you would need to contact the App store from which you purchased the subscription--Adobe doesn't handle those purchases/refunds.)
If you think you signed up using a different email address, let us know (don't include your email address in the post--just let us know that you used a different one, and I'll send you a private message to get the details).
Best,

Can you retain text highlighting when exporting to PDF from InDesign?
Hi,
I have several publications that are now going to be reviewed by another individual and I was planning to export them to PDF.
However, I've already highlighted bibliographic references, table call outs, figure call outs in the InDesign file using different colors and I was wondering if there is a way to retain that highlighting when exporting to PDF? Just thought it might make their life a little easier since I already have all that done in the file.
Thanks!Ah ha! Got it! All I needed was your prompt! I looked to make sure that it was set up as conditional text and noticed the Show/Hide option at the bottom of the pop-up. (I knew I saw something before that would allow this, but couldn't remember where!)
Thanks for jogging my memory! -
Indesign Crashes when exporting PDF
Hi,
We are experiencing an issue when exporting an .indd file as .pdf. The process gets as far as a certain page (8 out of 13) and then crashes when reading a pdf image from that page. It does one of two things - it crashes or displays an 'out of memory' message. We had task manager running alongside the program to check memory usage and there are no major spikes during the export process (it doesn't even hit 80%)
- We can export every other page in the document except this one
- The export works without marks & bleeds enabled (not really sure of the terminology so I do apologise)
The document is going off to print so the pdf image has to be of high resolution. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can get around this issue?
The INdesign package is CS4 (32bit) and the pc has 4GB of RAM
Any assistance would be much appreciatedFriends I'm reading all the posts, but I have the same problem. My Indesign crashes exporting a document of 60 pages into pdf.
Can anybody help me please? The next week I have to deliver the project. Thank you!
