Can't download songs and credit card issue

I called Apple support and they brushed me off on this issue which I have seen on MacWorld. I can't download my purchases via either Itouch, Itunes for Mac or Itunes for Windows. AND then I get a message that I need to verify my credit card and I get a message that it was decline. Yet in Purchase history it shows. And earlier I used same card to purchase ILife.
Bank says card is OK.
Made other purchases.....
So, Apple what gives?
As a customer and someone who gives you credit info, I feel we deserve answers?

Piecing together what little that Apple has shared with some complaining customers, it seems that they have instituted some new security measures that have locked many people out of their accounts and, with a few exceptions, Apple seems unable to reset the accounts. In many cases they are trying to blame the credit card company. They have told me in several responses to support emails that the problem is with my credit card. I have checked with my credit card company and they have received the verification request from Apple and have authorized it -- over 30 times!!!! There are no blocks or flags on my credit card account.
I have tried three other credit cards and get the same error message.
I have even tried selecting the 'none' option under payment information in my iTunes account and I still get the same error message -- the problem cannot be with a credit card if I specify 'none'...
It would be helpful if anyone can offer any advice to resolve the issue, but I am also hoping that someone from Macworld may read this, do some investigating and start giving this issue some 'public domain' visibility. The end goal being to get Apple to take some ownership of the issue. "

Can't download songs
Go try another online music download retailer, such as Amazon.com.
You can buy MP3s from any source, and add them to your iTunes library. If one store is too much trouble, try another.

  • Iphone and credit card issue.

    My bank issued me a new debit card with a new number due to a data breach.  I ordered my Iphone 6 plus with the old debit card and it is due to ship at the end of this month.  I called CS to see if I could update the card, but they were not able to.  My only options are to wait until the card declines and the provide the new card, or cancel and reorder the phone which would push back my delivery date.  Does anyone know if an order automatically cancels if a card declines?  Surely I can't be the only one in this predicament.

    We definitely want you to get your device! We do understand that things of this nature do happen. Since I would not want you to lose your place in line, for your order, the best options is to wait until the card declines. Once that happens, a specialized team will reach out to you to get a different method of payment. Your order does not automatically cancel, but keep on the lookout for any communication from us either by phone or email. Don't forget that some of our communications my be routed to your email's spam folder. Looking forward to you getting your device!

    I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
    Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
    Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

I only have a 2.10 balance due to him, but I just want to find out if there is a way to erase it because of this circumstance.

    You need to immediately pull credit reports to see what else he has done.  Then "freeze" the credit report at all three agencies.  That way even you need to lift the freeze to add credit cards or other credit items to your SSN.

    iTunes doesn't allow a credit card that was issued by a bank in another country (possibly because it's a way of confirming that you are able to buy from a country's store) - you will only be able to use a credit card issued by a New Zealand bank. Or you could use iTunes gift cards as your payment method, as far as I can see they are available in New Zealand.

    And yet to download the app you clicked on a button that told you that the app would be 790 rupees for you.
    The iLife apps and the iWork apps are only free when you qualify to get them free. And when you get them free the buy button to download them says free. When the buy button has a price on it, that is how much you will pay for the app.

    If you are referring to an iDevice, sign out of your new Apple ID and sign back in with your old one - they should all be there.

    You would have to see which type of things it is blocking. Most likely to do with copyright law of your country or where the content is alowed to be distributed. If it's a genuine problem you should maybe try using a proxy server though.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
    Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
    You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
    The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
    To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
    Whilst you want seperate accounts, I assume this is to keep your contacts etc seperate, you can still both use the same iTunes account, which will allow you to share your music etc.
