Can't drill on column header

When viewing any report from this one specific client machine,we can't drill down on any column header. It's not the report sincewe can drill down on the headers from other machines and that wouldalso rule out user preferences, so we're not sure what the issue iswith this machine. Is there anything that would be stored on thelocal PC that would affect this? We also have the issue on the PC whereby any report with morethan 1 level of column headers only displays the last columnheader. For example, I have my accounts over top of time, but Ionly see the time headers and not the account headers. Same thingas the other issue whereby the report works fine on anothermachine. 2 very weird issues indeed and formatting the PC is not anoption at this time. thoughts?

Try doing this Chud.... Go to the database properties of any cube you are tryingto retreive and increase the buffer size in the data retreivalbuffers .... I am guessing that it should be around 10-20 KB rightnow on your client machine. Try making it 100 KB..Let me know what happens Regards,Dieselvat

As I said in my previous post, column headers in Excel are merely row 1 cells. May be I missing something here, so please be more explicit with your question.
I guess you are using the Excel Report tools, and you want to modify an existing sheet. From my limited experience with the Excel Report tools, it is not possible to open an existing woorkbook (except as template...), so the answer to your question should be "Forget it"...
The work around is to use the example I pointed for you before, and either to write the whole new colum headers as a string array, starting in A1, or to write a single string to a given cell in row 1.

How can i bring the column heading downloaded in excel sheet?

hi all,
I am using FM SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT to downloading populated internal table data into excel sheet by using filename type rlgrap-filename.
Now I need the column heading(field name) for downloaded data in excel sheet.
pls tell me how can i merge the col heading with data perfectly. Is there any FM fulfills this requirement.
pls give me a suitable approch.

How can I use a column header to select columns in a JTable?

Hello,
I've been working for ages on this, but I still can't come up with a suitable solution. What I want to be able to do is select a column header from a JTable, which in turn would select the corresponding column in my JTable. I cant seem to do this with a mouse listener, and I can't see how to toggle the buttons of the header either.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I have both row and columns selected depending on what you do in the JTable. Here's my code:
where you init your JTable add:

How to display a Column Header for the characteristic Text column

Hi All
Our users want me to provide for a column header for the characteristic text.
Here is what I mean
I am reporting 0plant in the rows as key and Text. In the column on Plant Key the column header says Plant but there is no column header for the plant text.
Eq:
Plant                                                        Amount
IE00         Initiator Plant                               244
IE01         Initiator Plant NJ                          890
Our users in the plant text column want a dummy column header to be displayed. SInce they download the data from the BW report to Excel and use pivot reporting. How can I introduce a column header for the texts.

Hi Karen,
I am not sure if this is possible, although Users can ask anything :).
In Planning we used to predefine cell headings via Macros and creating dummy cells in between. I am not sure if a similar scenario can work here.
By default this is not possible in Reports. In BEx workbooks, you could probably try with Macros.
Another easy option is to bring the data in the Cube as another field or create a nav. attribute in the master for text and use it as a nav. attr. in the Cube and put it in your Query row alongside.

Change Column Header / Column Background color based on a value in a specific row in the same column

SSRS 2012
Dataset (40 columns) including the first 3 rows for Report layout configuration (eg: the <second> row specifies the column background color).
Starting from the 4th row, the dataset contains data to be displayed.
I would like to change the background color of the ColumnHeader/Column based on the value in the same column in the <second> row.
How can I accomplish the this requirement? (this must be applied for all the columns)

Per my understanding that you want to specify the background color of all the columns/column header based on the value in one special column of the special row, right?
I have tested on my local environment and you can add expression to condition show the background color in the columns properties or the column header properties.
Details information below for your reference:
Specify the background color in the Column header: you can select the entire column header row and in the properties add expression in the Background color :
If you want to specify the background color for the entire column, you can select the entire column and add the expression, repeat to add background color for other columns.
If you want to specify the background color based on the value in the specific columns and row, you can create an hidden parameter to get the list of values from the specific column, specify the Available values and default values by select "Get
values from a query", finally using the expression as below to get the specific value you want:
Expression(Backgroud Color):
=IIF(Parameters!Para.Value(1)="1221","red","yellow")
If your problem still exists, please try to provide some smaple data of the report and also the snapshot of the report structure to help us more effective to provide an solution.

Excel 2013 Column Header hidden

I have deployed Office 2013 part of the Office 365 E3 package and one user can't see the column header (A,B,C,etc..). It initially shows but then gets covered up by the menu bar. If I zoom the document to >200% I can begin to see the column
headings.

Try View Tab > Show/Hide > Headings.
Or try File > Options > Advanced Tab > Display options for this worksheet section and untick/tick "Show row and column headers"
I notice that you've install the add-ins in Excel, please type "Excel.exe /safe" in Windows Search Bar to launch Excel without add-ins to check the result.
Besides, update the VGA Driver to the latest version is also proposed. Thanks.

Yes.
select empno,ename
from empEdit the report attributes > Edit the Empno Column
In the "HTML Expression" field near the top, of the empno column attributes page, type in:
#ENAME#
Save it then un-check the "show" column for ename on the report attributes page. You can also change the column header for empno to "Name" (or whatever you want).
Basically, you are displaying the ename data in the empno column. It will sort on empno, but display ename.

This is probably the better of the techniques but it is still far from ideal. Simply edit the column properties and put the name as @{variable_name}{default_value}.
But we still have the problem of how to make this dynamic. Well, we can set a presentation variable using a dashboard prompt so we need to create a prompt and force it to a default value. Note that the prompt will need to be added to the dashboard but can be hidden by setting the CSS style to display:none on the dashboard section.

IR Report Freeze Column Header Row

In Interactive Report, Can we freeze the column header row ? This is a most wanted requirement asked by customers. More than 50 times requested in past month.
Please help

I have been playing with this problem and came up with this potential solution that has so far worked for me.
Caveats: I am new to this type of coding so check it carefully. It only works with Internet Explorer (its what we use at work). I hope to have a Firefox version someday. Some code used was found online. I gave it proper credit in my usage.
Instrcutions:
In the HTMLHeader of the Edit Page, paste the code shown below. It will lock/freeze the header of an interactive report and (optionally), any number of columns to the left of the report.
To customize it for your needs,
1. edit the line that reads: var LOCKED_COLUMNS=2; to reflect the number of columns to be locked (0 won't lock anycolumns)
2. edit the style section that reads:

div#apexir_DATA_PANEL
width: 300px; height=200px; overflow: scroll; position:relative; float:left;
</code>
to reflect the width and height for you scrolling window.
3. optionally turn of the pagination (under Pagination in the Report Attribute pagefor the region) if you want to scroll through your entire dataset without paging [possible performance implications].
I tested this with Apex 3.2 and with several themes (1, 3 and8). Hopefully it will work for you.
