Can't edit editable regions with Contribute

Have created some templates with Dreamweaver 8, left/right
columns are clearly marked editable, yet my contribute users aren't
able to edit those columns and the screen display is distorted
(have to scroll down to see center column). Any suggestions on what
I need to be looking for to correct?

I had someone help - my pages were looking for
css/columns.css as hidden at design time, but I was using a full
URL
http://ww....:8080. Once we added
that URL to Design Time Style Sheets (under CSS panel, right click
to get Design Time ) as file as HIDE at Design time, columns became
editable in Contribute. Let me know if that doesn't make sense and
I'll try to explain better.

She is connecting OK, but when she tries to edit a page she

message saying she "can't edit this page because Dave Addison

I have connected to the site myself with Contribute 3, and
got a similar
error: "you can't edit this site because you are already
editing it on
another computer"!!
It gave me the option to "unlock" the page, which I selected,
and I was
then able to edit the page. However, my client still can't.
Anyone got a solution to this?

Can't drag edits (regions) with precision anymore

Ever since I graduated to GB '09 fropm '05 I notice that I can't move edited regions to the beginning of measures with time-precision. e.g. If I want to place a two measure beat from one track in front of a beat on another track I can't place the new beat to meet up precisely where the old one begins and it throws the time off.

Not able to edit editable regions in contribute CS5

Hi there,
i got a question i need to ask according to the helpdesk i just spoke to. I've downloaded the Contribute CS5 trial yesterday and i wanted to show my costumer how to edit pages and create new ones. I've made the connection to the website and tried every possible thing but the only thing i can edit is the first editable region wich i always leave blank (the designer build in some hidden text there). The rest of the editable regions, named header and content can't be edited. How is this possible? This is only on the most existing pages. Creating new ones do not appear to have the same problems.
i work with contribute CS4 and everything works fine. I can edit pages fully and publish everything like it should be. To be sure i also downloaded the trial CS5 to my laptop and i got exactly the same problem as described above.
How can help me out?

Editable region with ecommerce

Can client without dreamweaver update content in an editable region containing Paypal ecommerce buttons?
My client wants to be able to update region with seasonal item photo and add to cart button.


We need to update this empty region with content across 300+ pages, but the basic Find & Replace will not do the trick, as this is a locked region within the child page and therefore -- I believe -- is not 'findable'. Aside from manually updating each page with the tracking pixel (groan!), is there an Ace up anyone's sleeve to help me expedite this task?
Help me understand what you are trying to do, please. The region you show above and are wanting to populate (as I understand it) is not a locked region. It would be completely editable in both template and child pages. However, if what you want is to make changes to a NON-EDITABLE region, you could do that several ways:
1. Use a server-side include to carry the desired content into the non-editable region. The link to the include would be in the non-editable part of the template, but the include file is still editable.
2. Use a DW Library item in the exact same way.
3. Add the desired content in a PHP block at the top of the page, and then just echo it where desired.
The advantage of method 1 is that you edit one file and upload it, and all 300 pages are changed at the server level. The advantage of method 2 is that you edit one library file, and all pages will also be changed, but then you must upload all 300 pages subsequent to that change. The advantage of method 3 is that it, too, is simple both to implement and to Find/Replace when needed, but again, all changed pages need to be uploaded.

Can I edit 4k with Premiere CC 2014 on macbook ?

Now that we can edit natively with 4k... Can I use my macbook or i-mac to edit 4k?
(without needing a massive macPro set up with graphic cards etc..)

Can't edit web pages contribute 6.5

Cannot edit any web pages, get message " can't edit because edit because page is not on website or is in a directory"

Please check if in the contribute window the url is showing "http://www.yoursite.com" ,if yes then please browse to "http://www.yoursite.com/index.html" (Provide the complete URL of your homepage.) then try to edit your page.

Edit blog with Contribute CS3

Hi, i've made my web site using iWeb and uploaded it to my iDisk using iWeb
I have a blog page made with iWeb
can I use Adobe Contribute CS3 to modify and create blog entries on my site?
I ask because I have a friend who i'd like to have a blog on the site but don't want to hassle of syncing two different copies of iweb

contribute seems to be able to connect to your .mac web hosting
My impression is that it cannot connect to the space used by iWeb, only to iDisk/Sites, used by Homepage. Is that right?
any ideas on how to edit iweb blogs without using iweb? i know its a tough one
I can't imagine there is any practical way to do this. You should use blogger or some other blogging system if you need that capability.

Used GPedit, copied folders to another PC, applied, can't edit now with gpedit?

Make sure you are running it with elevated permissions (i.e. right-click, run as 'administrator')...have you tried that?

Hello all, I have 5 pcs I am setting up for the manufacturing shop floor and I setup a local group policy to restrict running any applications except for the listed few. Once I set it up on the first PC, I copied the folders over to the other PC's and gpupdate /force applied them, but now I can't seem to edit them. Is there another tool aside from gpedit that I need to use? I can see a policy applied in rsop.msc, but I dont see a way to edit what the policy even is, just that there is a software restriction policy in place.

Editing dreamweaver with contribute

I am trying to edit a page using contribute. Previewing the page looks good and the page works fine. When I try to edit it, it only shows the bottom banner

I am using CS3
Contribute and dreamweaver, the banner is just something that is at the bottom of the page with the school district information on it

Assuming the creative cloud connection works in a way that you can have a folder on your system which gets auto-uploaded:
Create a publish service to hard disk, which will populate that folder (in the file format desired in the cloud). You can use smart collections in that service so that any develop changes are automatically detected for republishing. This is something you need to trigger yourself, though - an advantage IMO, because it does not force you to slow down while you are still working.
If this does not meet your expectation please rephrase your initial question, as it seems to have been truncated.

Can't fade audio region with multiple takes

Audio track: I have some sections of a song with a single vocal take on the track (individual audio regions), and others with multiple takes. On the single takes, I can use the crossfade tool, no problem.
On the sections where there are multiple takes and a few edits, I cannot fade. I drag the fade tool at the front of this region and it does not fade. In fact, the highlight color is green as opposed to blue (when it works on individual, single-take regions).
How do I use the fade tool on an audio track where there are multiple takes?
(Please don't tell me I have to bounce this section of audio and re-import it...)
(There is nothing in the manual on this. I checked: pages 343-345 discuss fades in this regard but there is no mention of it not working for a multiple take audio region.)

You don't need to bounce the track, but you do need to collapse the takes into a single track. Do your comping until you have the track you want, then use the little menu button at the end of the track to fold everything into a single track (I forget the correct terminology, but it's pretty obvious when you open the menu), then fade to your heart's content.

Can't use repeat region with more than 35 rows

Using ASP and Access Database, I am retrieving a number from a field in an access database to display a number of rows in a table using repeat region, if the number returned is more than 35 my page won't load. Any ideas?

I havn't used ASP in about 10 years but what kind of error comes up? Or is the page just blank?
