Can't edit in SQL Worksheet

Currently using version 1.1.2.25 Build MAIN-25.79
Yesterday I installed updates and extension for using Subversion.
This morning having started SQL Developer up I am unable to use arrow keys, backspace, return key, delete key, home, end keys in SQL Worksheet. All these keys are available in Microsoft Word so its not the keypad.
Can anyone provide an answer as a matter of urgency.

I would be amazed it if worked. So many differences between SQL Dev and JDev.. not to mention that SQL Dev is built on an unreleased JDev platform. Uninstall that extension and everything will probably go back to normal. You can setup external tools to mimic (albeit crudely) some of the functionality of the extension.

i try to build a simple Table API generator. Everything is finish. The only thing i need is open the generated sql script inside a SQL Worksheet for preview. I try following code:

If the WMVs don't contain DRM, use a product such as VLC.

Edit query results in SQL worksheet

I can't edit query results in SQL worksheet, I not found any options to "ON" this. I use SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.

You can't edit results in the worksheet. It's an accepted feature request with no scheduled date. In the mean time you have to go to the table or write an update statement.

How can I turn off auto formatting whilst working in the SQL Worksheet?

After I edited the SQL in a dataset, I can't use the query builder in any datasets that I create.

Is there a way to reset BI Publisher Enterprise 11 so that I can use the query builder again instead of having to write out all of the SQL? I know that I can't use the query builder for the dataset that I edited the sql in but I would like to use the query builder for new datasets.

I understand that your iPad is restarting and not responding sporadically. You have already attempted some great troubleshooting steps and I think you are on the right track. Holding the home button is one step that you take while placing your device in recovery mode to restore. This is the method that I would suggest to restore. Yes, you can replicate from Enterprise edition to Standard edition. The only caveat is Peer-to-Peer Replication requires all nodes to be Enterprise Edition.

Can't drag a table into the SQL worksheet anymore under 1.5.5

IIRC, in 1.5.4 I could expand my list of tables and then drag it into the SQL worksheet page at which point a SELECT statement for the table with all of the columns would be generated.
This does not appear to be happening for me in 1.5.5

Had the same thing happening over the last versions. It never worked in a session, unless deleting the setting dir. But upon restart it would be messed up again.
After upgrading to 1.5.5, it started working again and had no problems since.
The team pretty much waived the problem away because it's apparently something with our setups and exceptions aren't worth the effort. The only way to get this looked at is opening a SR on Metalink.

4.1EA2 Text cursor goes missing in SQL Worksheet

In EA1 and EA2, my cursor seems to intermittently go missing in SQL Worksheet
Version info:

One such pattern that I noticed it seems to go missing on is when running a script.
Another pattern, if I hit enter a few times before the cursor has a chance to blink in between (not always), or hit the up or down arrow to go to the top or bottom of the page respectively, it also disappears.
I'm able to get the mouse back by dragging the window out of maximize position.
Couldn't reproduce in a procedure editor - assume will be same for package/function editor. So it's most prominent in SQL Worksheet.

I'm having this same issue that started happening with EA1 and persisted into EA2. It was not occurring prior to my upgrade. My input cursor disappears when scrolling up or down in code using the mouse wheel or scroll bar when the code extends beyond the display area. Moving the window does not help, but resizing the window appears to cause it to redraw and the cursor appears again. I can see what line I am on due to current line highlighting, and I can also select text or start typing to get an idea of where I am.

Light Grey-Blue highlighting significance in SQL Worksheet - turn it off?

I've been working with SQLDeveloper for a while, and I'm now intrigued what the significance of the light context sensitive highlighting in the SQL worksheet window might be.
If I have one SQL statement in the window and I execute it with a ctrl-enter then the statement gets a blue-grey highlight.
If there are two statements and you ececute the second then the second one gets the goulish highlight.
I'm sure that this makes good sense to someone.
Is there any way to turn this quirkish thing off?

Apart from turning it off - I can't figure out why you would want it in the first place??
Usually someone spends time coding something they think will add value.
For me it's just clutter especially when I'm editing a long(ish) script of 100+lines - I just prefer a clean interface.
I have enough difficulty working out what I should be coding - let alone having my script switching colours on and off ;(

DEL,BACKSPACE,HOME etc not responding in SQL Worksheet

When I'm loading a snippet in the SQL Worksheet and trying to edit it, i can't use the home,del, backspace, home, enter keys of my keyboard. They are not responding, only the letter and numeric keys are working.
Does anybody know how i can solve this problem?

Conflicting use of F3 key in SQL worksheet

The use of the F3 key in the SQL worksheet tab, where this key performs a Rollback, seems to conflict with the menu option Edit->Find Next.
The first time you press the F3 key in the SQL worksheet a rollback is performed. Second and subsequent F3 keystrokes do a Find Next.
In addition, the first time you open a SQL worksheet tab and do a Find next via F3, nothing happens.
Steps:
1. open a SQL worksheet.
2. Paste the following text in:

yyyy

uuuu
the
yyyy
uuuu
3. Move cursor to start of first line in worksheet.
4. Press Ctrl-F to initiate search and search on the string 'uuuu' by clicking OK.
5. Press F3 to Find Next. Nothing happens.
SQL Developer version: 1.0.013.43, Build MAIN-13.43
Platform: Windows XP SP2.

In the Accelerators, the F3 is set to 2 options: Rollback and Find Next.
I think that this I would have to be modified in the proper tool, modifying the value standard of one of the two options, but to solve its problem, you can manually modify the value of these options (Tools - Preferences - Accelerators).

1.5.4. "Toggle SQL Worksheet Area" not found

In 1.5.3. there was a very usefull shortcut for "Toggle SQL Worksheet Area", but I couldn't find it in Version 1.5.4. Is there a similar functionality now in 1.5.4?
Enhancement request: Maybe this "Toggle" functionality can be improved to "Toggle and set the focus/cursor into the result set/SQL Worksheet". Then it's more easy just to work with the keyboard. Otherwise you have to mouse-click into the result set to navigate through the data. Would be nice to have this feature.

I have personally found it useful when the feature is debated here before being put on the feature request page. Or at least having the url of the OTN forum discussion in the feature request.
Now a tip. If you can assign SqlHistory's default accelerator F8 to something else, to free up F8 in worksheet...while in ScriptOutput tab hit F8 and the use up/down arrow keys to move the splitpane.
This comes from Java Swing, is not perfect for worksheet, nonetheless nice to know.

Unable to see SQL Worksheet

Hi,
I have been using SQL Developer for almost a year and recently (almost a month now) unable to get to SQL Worksheet - so unable to type and run a query. Even when I am have created a connection and passed all the credentials - test test connection is succesful but not opening the connection and do not show any table or db details. Any idea what might have gone suddenly wrong? I have tried to download latest version of SQL Developer 1.5.. and JDK but nothing helps so far.
Will appreciate of some one can help.

so SQL DEVELOPER is ... hmm ... sleeping
I tried to start via Explorer = the dos window shows nothing during the process,
= back to .... toad.

SQL Developer 4.0.0.12 SQL Worksheet

Start SQL Developer.
Open a SQL Worksheet that has some code in it.
Holding Shift key, select a few lines.
Works.
Now: Edit > Block selection.
Block selection (Alt + Shift + Up/Down arrows) doesn't work but you can still select (i.e., "mark") line by line.
Now: Edit > Block selection (to remove checkmark next to "Block selection").
Now neither line selection (Shift + Up/Down arrows) nor block selection (Alt + Shift + Up/Down arrows) works.
HOWEVER, hold Shift key and do Right Arrow. Whoa. Freaky.
Now: Edit > Block selection (to put checkmark next to "Block selection" back).
Now line-by-line selection works (Shift + Up/Down arrow).
Shift + Right arrow is no longer freaky.
Alt + Shift + Up/Down arrows do nothing.
Now: Edit > Block selection (to take away checkmark next to "Block selection").
Line by line selection does not work (Shift + Up/Down arrow).
BUT if you do Shift + Right Arrow, then down arrow (while still holding Shift key) block selection works.
Yeah it's confusing.
Which is the way it is when something isn't working!!

I've been having same problem. Multiple monitors on Win7. I know I saw the progress panel at one point with 4.0ea but it disappeared a few days ago.
I'm running some long schema compares and can't tell what's going on! It also locks my connections to those databases; those connections should be separated I think.
