Can't find merge dialog in Labview 8.5

I just installed Laview 8.5. I want to use the
merge tool but can't find it anywhere. Everywhere it says it is under
Tools Menu but I can't see it. Can anybody help me with that? I can
find the LVMerge.exe for use with SCCS.

It is under the Tools menu as shown in the attached image.
Which type of package do you have? Base, Full, Professional, Developer Suite? I'll check if it's with all versions...

if you don't have/want a cc subscription on your computer, uninstall the cc app and then use the cleaner - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

I got "IOtech Personal Daq/55 Acquisition System" Can't find the drv in Labview.

Hi Johnny,
You wil have to download the drivers from IOTech directly. I would suspect that they would provide a CD, with the product, that contains the LV drivers or at least an API.
Here is a link to their website. It appears that you have to register to access the download area.

HT1414 I have disabled the auto synch on connection of the IPhone5 and now ITunes will not show the iphone as available. How can I find the dialog that will give me control over backup's?

Where -on iTunes - can I find a control that will enable me to synch the Iphone.

There is no merge feature for itunes content, never was. Merge applies only to contacts and calendar entries.
The itunes content sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases
You can transfer the purchases from the iphone to itunes before you sync. File>Transfer Purchases

Can't find DAQ assistant in LabView

Hi! I installed the NI-DAQmax driver 9.3.5 after installing LabView 8.5 Student edition and I am not able to find the DAQ Assistant in the function palette. Could you please let me know what else could I do?

I'm not finding a DAQmx version 9.1.7. Even then according to this fancy chart, You need DAQmx 9.5.5 or newer (currently up to 9.8) to work with LabVIEW 2012. If you don't have the driver disk that came with your copy of LabVIEW, I would recommend downloading the latest version (DAQmx 9.8).

There are two good ways to get contract work for programming with LabVIEW:
1. Get certified as a LabVIEW Developer (CLD). This will get your name on our website for customers to browse when looking for LabVIEW programmers. This will also give you exposure to NI reps to they can be aware you're working and certified, even if they're not your rep, they could still recommend you to a customer in need.
2. Become a Certified Professional Instructor. You'll receive teaching contracts from NI that could last as little as 3 days, or as much as a month at a time based on your location and willingness to travel.

I've also tried AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId to find the dialog, but still no luck.

LabVIEW can't find NI-DAQ driver (error 10240).

NI-DAQ is installed, and all the tests in the configuration utility work
fine with the PCI 1200 card. I can see a sine wave from a function
generator, so NI-DAQ works. But no DAQ VIs run, neither the examples
included with LabVIEW nor test programs I've written myself. Error message
10240 is always displayed: "NI-DAQ: LV can't find NI-DAQ driver."
I am working with an older setup, trying to recover an experiment from years
ago. It's a Power Macintosh 7500 with a 100MHz 601 processor and a PCI 1200
DAQ card. LabVIEW 4.0 installed. I've tried downloading several versions
of NI-DAQ from the NI site, but I can't find any support for LabVIEW 4.0.
Currently NI-DAQ 6.6.1 is installed, the version recommen
ded on the site for
Power Macs.
Does this version of NI-DAQ not work with LabVIEW 4.0? If not, what version
of NI-DAQ will work? Is there some way to tell LabVIEW where the NI-DAQ
driver is?
Upgrading LabVIEW or the hardware is a last resort. I just want to get this
experiment running as soon as possible.

Thanks. But the version of NI-DAQ that was installed when I wrote the email
was NI-DAQ 6.6, and still the error message appeared. I've since pulled the
card and put it into a PC with a more recent version of Lab VIEW and it
works.

Can't find VI on windows startup

HI,
I have a shortcut on my desktop that we use to run a NI-motion & NI-vision application (in the development environment). If I reboot the PC and try to run the application from this shortcut ASAP, windows (I think) reports that the VI does not exist and suggests searching for it. Then it loads, sometimes with a broken run arrow. Closing the VI and reloading it fixes the problem, and from that point onwards the problem goes away. I notice if I wait a while before clicking the shortcut after a re-boot all is OK. I think I saw a question on this in the past - but I can't find it now. Can anyone help here?

Sorry for the delay I've been trying to re-create the broken run arrow problem I had, to establish the error code. I conclude it was something to do with double-clicking on the LabVIEW shortcut twice, the second time being after the windows - can't find file dialog (and before the app has loaded). This appears to result in two instances of LabVIEW, I end up with two instances of the same VI open at the same time. I did not notice this at first and started development, some how I ended up with an error on one instance of the program and not the other. I'll try to aviod that in future. I'll do further testing when I have upgraded the LabVIEW version to 8.

Can't find fieldpoint vi's

Stange question: I've installed a cfp-2100, reading 9- 4 to 20 mA signals. I can configure this unit using MAX, and have crated an .iak file. However, I can't find any tools in Labview to acutally go in ad build with. I can't find any of the icons or VI's described in the earlier help sections. I tried to download some code, but when asked for the VI, they are nowhere on the hard drive. I've tried re-installing the CD, but it doesn't seem to want to transfer anything over. All of the download boxes appeared x-out. am using LV 8.2 pro. Can anybody help?

Did you install Fieldpoint from a disk or download? It is not part of the labVIEW install.
I believe the correct version for 2013 is 6.1 and can be downloaded from NI's site.

Stand-Alone application with LabView 7.0 getting error can't find DAQmx clear task.vi

I have attempted to create a stand alone vi with the Build Application or Shared Library(dll) in LabVeiw 7.0
When I put it on another PC to test it I get the error "can't find DAQmx clear task.vi"
the other PC has Labview 7.0 and DAQmx 8.1 also.
I believe my problem is in the source tab where you are supposed to add support and dynamic vi's I have search the forums and Ni's data base and have not found a solution.

When you run the executable on the other computer is when you get this error? Do you have the exact same versions of LabVIEW and DAQmx on both computers? Does the dialog allow you to navigate to the DAQmx clear task.vi? If so, you can find these VIs in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\vi.lib\DAQmx\configure\task.llb. Does the executable work on the development machine (the machine it was compiled on)?

It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.

Dialog box says-"Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. ... purge central cache" For one, I can't find the central cache and two, I've purged the cache in bridge. Shouldn't that help.

Our Bridge has been acting very strange. It keeps giving a dialog box of "Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. ... purge central cache" For one, I can't find the central cache and two, I've purged the cache in bridge. Shouldn't that help? There's just all kinds of weird stuff going on. I suppose it does have something to do with the central cache, so maybe someone can tell me where to find it.
When I use the burn/dodge tool sometimes it drags and staggers and takes forever to complete whatever I'm burning/dodging. When I try to delete an image from the dock, it won't disappear but it won't display either.
Any help would be appreciated.

The Central Cache is the Bridge Cache.
It's referred as the Central Cache to differentiate it from the individual folder's cache or even the individual image cache.
