Can't find netscape.javascript.*?
Can some one explain to me how when I try to compile, I get an error saying that I don't have this package? I tried it with version 1.4.2, which has the java plug-in I'm sure. I'm kind of new to Java so try to make it simple if possible.
Thanks,
Andrew
Assuming "%JAVA_HOME%" is the base directory of your Java installation, then you must include "%JAVA_HOME%/jre/lib/plugin.jar" in your classpath during compile time.

Can't Import netscape.javascript; classpath set properly
I have an applet that is trying to say
import netscape.javascript.*No matter how I try to compile it, I get the error
package netscape.javascript does not existI am primarily using ant for building; here is the pertinent section of my build.xml file:
<property name="output" location="javaclasses" />
<target name="compile">
<javac srcdir="./"
destdir="${output}"
includes="**/*.java"
classpath="./,\
javaclasses/packages/epsgraphics.jar,\
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13-sr2/jre/lib/plugin.jar,\
javaclasses"
listfiles="yes">
</javac>
</target>Note that plugin.jar is included in my classpath. Using jar -tf <...>/plugin.jar, I can see that it contains the netscape package, the javascript subdirectory, and the JSObject.class I am interested in.
Attempting to resolve this manually with the command line
javac -classpath "./;javaclasses/packages/epsgraphics.jar;/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13-sr2/jre/lib/plugin.jar;javaclasses" myApplet.javagives the same error.
Moving plugin.jar to my local directory, or any other directory specified in the classpath (which worked just fine until I tried accessing plugin.jar) and re-jiggering the classpath so it can be located gives the same result: it can't find netscape.javascript.
I'm using javac from java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13-sr2 on Suse Linux 10.3.
What am I missing here?As noted, the class is present in the jar file, as revealed with 'jar -tf plugin.jar'
I've fiddled with separators, as well. You're correct that a colon is used under Linux; that is what I had used in earlier attempts, but wound up copying the latest incarnation, which was desperately cribbed from another forum's example, thinking that Java might have other ideas. None of the variants I tried worked.
Trying it again, replacing the command line given with colons, still doesn't work; fails with the same message.
Currently pursuing another Ant solution, with no joy.
Thanks for your reply. -
Recvently, I installed Solaris 9 on a Sparc and then installed Netscape 7.0 using pkgadd. However, the installation did not add it onto the search path. I added it to the path in my local .cshrc and I can launch netscape from a terminal, but when I click on a HTML file in a File Manager, it reports that it can't find netscape. I did all these operations with a root login.
I am new to Unix, could anybody point me to a right direction to solve this problem.
ThanksI guess you're using CDE, and the problem is that the program "sdtwebclient" on Solaris does not know about
the new browser.

Where can I find a Javascript developer for InDesign scripting?
Hi
as
I apologise in advance for posting on a technical site for InDesign developers, but our company (Dorling Kindersley) is looking for a full-time permanent developer to join our team. I've been looking for some months now and I would really appreciate some advice on where or how InDesign scripters look for work, as our role is quite specialised.
We can offer an attractive package and although I'm biased as I work there, Dorling Kindersley really is a nice place to work - fun, friendly and super creative. I would welcome advice or for someone to approach me if they're interested.
It's advertised as full-time and permanent but for the right candidate we can offer flexible working conditions.
Best
Heather Hughes
Publishing Technologies Software Developer (permanent role)
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual keen to join our Creative Technical Support team, to create, maintain and enhance software tools for our creative and operations teams around the globe. This is a permanent full-time role.
Each tool is a script or collection of scripts that allows DK to automate their creative workflows, from checks that spreads and covers have been created correctly to automated deployment of colour settings.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience of using scripting to command Mac OS and Adobe products, have strong analytical skills and be curious, patient and willing to learn new skills. If you have design, publishing or print experience this will be an asset, but we can help fill in the gaps with training and guidance. You’ll need to be a ‘people’ person as most of the people you’ll come into contact with won’t have a software development background.
Not only do you get to work next door to Covent Garden, in the heart of London, but you’ll be welcomed into a small team of friendly and irreverent geeks, who are experts in Adobe applications and workflows and helping creative teams overcome their technical problems. Lunchtimes are often spent getting out and sampling the local cuisine in the vast number of restaurants and eateries around the office.
You’ll get to work in a relaxed, sociable and friendly environment, working alongside our award-winning creative staff to develop their ideas for tools and get satisfaction from freeing them up to be even more creative.
Skills required:
Excellent skills and experience in using Javascript
Experience of working with Macs and Adobe applications preferred
Other programming skills and experience an advantage, e.g. Applescript, Adobe InDesign Document Object Model, XML structure, TDD, Shell Script, Obj-C, C++ and Xcode
Ability to learn new technologies swiftly
Why work for DK?
DK is an award-winning global publisher of distinctive, highly visual products for adults and children alike. We have a reputation for producing innovative design and digital products.
Everything we make from books, eBooks and apps give unrivalled clarity to topics with a unique combination of words and pictures, put together to spectacular effect.
We produce content for consumers in over 52 countries and 42 languages from offices in Delhi, London, Melbourne, Munich, New York and Toronto. We celebrate our 40th birthday this year, and we are enormously proud to be the world’s leading illustrated reference publisher.
You’ll be joining an awesome and highly talented, diverse and creative team, in an environment where everyone is encouraged to learn and coach new skills, as well as having the opportunity to grow and develop with people who are passionate about what they do.Hi Heather,
I think you've found probably the best place possible to post this opening.
I personally am interested, and would like to pursue this further. My email is admin [at] freelancebookdesign.com
Thanks,

Where can I find Netscape 7.2 for OS 9.2.2??
I want to use an income tax program whicht requires Netscape 7.2 (no other browser is listed) which I do not have. I am working on IE 5.1 which apparently won't work with this program and I have OS 9.2.2 On the Netscape site, version 7.2 is only available for OS X users. Is there anywhere I can obtain this browser for my "ancient" operation system?
I am having the exact same issue, and tried the suggestion with iCab. Setting the ID to Netscape 7.2 does not allow the online tax preparation software to load, in my experience.
Interestingly, I have had Netscape 7.0.2 load the online service fine, until logging in. The login page loads, but upon submiting my login credentials, a page full of text appears (possibly script text).
So, if there are any other suggestions, I'm sure many of us using 9.2.2 would like to efile this year.
Thanks for any assistance that you may be able to provide. -

What do you mean? The action plugins are available for download from
the regular Sentinel plug-in site:
http://support.novell.com/products/s...elplugins.html
The ability to access or manage plugins will depend on your product
(Sentinel 6.1, 7.x, or Log Manager).
What you want to do may also slightly affect how you access them so
knowing that, and really knowing the entire story, would help.
The SDK can also be used to build new ones, if you're interested.
Good luck.

Where i can find the package "netscape.javascript.JSObject;" ??urgent
where i can find the package "netscape.javascript.JSObject;" ??urgent
pleaseThe Java Plug-in 1.3 ships netscape.javascript in a JAR file called JAWS.JAR. To compile an applet which uses JSObject, just add JAWS.JAR in the CLASSPATH before compilation.
If you don't have the Plug-in, but do have a Netscape browser installed, you can add the java40.jar file that comes with Communicator to the end of your CLASSPATH (or extract the netscape.* classes from there). -
Problems finding the netscape.javascript api
I'm trying to import netscape.javascript.* into my applet so that I can perform some basic calls to javascript functions. I've got both Java 1.4.2 and 1.5.0 beta versions and I've tried all sorts of path additions. My current one is this:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\jre\lib\plugin.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0\lib\jaws.jar;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\;C:\3dsmax5\backburner2\
since I've read a tutorial that says I have to include the jaws.jar and another forum post that says I need to include the plugin.jar. Neither, however, work. I'd prefer it if I didn't have to use liveConnect at all, so does anyone know if thats possible.
Any help would be most appreciated. RegardsYou will find the package in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_05\lib\plugin.jar if you use the default locations.

Firefox can't find javascript files on localhost
I'm running firefox 21.0 on windows 8. I've installed Apache 2.4 (64 bit) as a web server on localhost.
I'm getting sporadic unexpected results testing my web pages. When I look at the source code (Ctrl-U) and click on the link to the javaScript files, for some of the files I get the firefox warning page (with exclamation mark in yellow triangle - not the 404 message) claiming that firefox cannot find the javaScript file. The files do exist and capitalization is correct.
The links are coded like this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/cradur/JSLib/dataGrid.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The web page is xhtml1-strict.
IMPORTANT: THIS ERROR IS ONLY OCCURRING SPORADICALLY. The web page (and JS file) will work fine for a time, then suddenly firefox will no longer be able to find the file.
Please note also that the current set up is on a new laptop, which I've only been using for a week. I've previously run firefox/ajax on windows XP for years without encountering this problem.Do you use a port number in your localhost URLs? If so, have you noticed any changes to (or omission of) those numbers as you test the application?
Although I don't think you can do a reload bypassing cache (Ctrl+Shift+r) in the source viewer, if you do that in a page that wasn't able to load the script, does that help? -
Photoshop CC 2014 can't find JavaScript plug-in for Photomerge
Hello,
I'm trying to use the Photomerge tool in Photoshop CC 2014 on my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) and am getting an error that says "Could not complete the Photomerge command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in." The same thing happens with Lens Correction and Merge to HDR Pro. I have the most recent update of Photoshop CC 2014.
Per other suggestions in these forums about this issue, I have tried:
Turning off my virus protection in case it was preventing the program from accessing the scripts per this tip
Downloading and following the instructions on Adobe's site here to copy an additional Scripting folder to my Photoshop program folder
Uninstalling and reinstalling the program, followed by a system reboot
Talking to Adobe customer support (who tried to solve the problem for well over an hour and also uninstalled and reinstalled the program)
It looks like the Photomerge file is in the right place (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Presets\Scripts):
And so I am now out of ideas on how to fix this. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!Here is my menu Help>System Info.... for my working windows CC 2014 check it with yours check the plugin section and try removing any third party plug-ins they may interfear????

To revert to the previous secure version, do the following.
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.
After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those where necessary. -
Can't find Dialog in javascript (by code corner example)
Hello,
I've recently found an Code Corner OTN Harvest 09/2011 article with "Launching popup dialogs maximized".
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/sept2011-otn-harvest-508189.pdf
The code is:function openPopup(popupId, panelWindowId){
return function(event){
var agent = AdfAgent.AGENT;
var windowWidth = agent.getWindowWidth();
var windowHeight = agent.getWindowHeight();
var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId(popupId); // found
var panelWindow = popup.findComponent(panelWindowId); // null here
panelWindow.setContentWidth(Math.max(100, windowWidth-60));
panelWindow.setContentHeight(Math.max(100, windowHeight-80));
if(popup != null)
popup.show();
}I've tried the same in my application and it didn't work.
<af:commandButton text="Search" id="cb3" partialSubmit="true">
<af:clientListener type="action"
method="openPopup('p_search','d7')"/>
</af:commandButton>
<af:popup id="p_search">
<af:dialog id="d7" resize="on"
dialogListener="#{backingBeanScope.Page1ManagedBean.toContentSearchResult}"
contentWidth="800" contentHeight="600"
stretchChildren="first">
<af:panelStretchLayout id="psl4" topHeight="auto">
...I have found out that this code can't find panelWindow (dialog) component.
I've also tried AdfPage.PAGE.findComponentByAbsoluteId to find the dialog, but still no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Is there an app which allows one to open zip files that were encrypted with AES-128 or AES-256? There was a discussion last year (https://discussions.apple.com/message/12429143) saying that there were none at the time, but I'm hoping for some progre
