Getting the JRC to work with Weblogic 8 requires a little extra configuration. We have the steps detailed in our Release Notes which can be found here:
<a href="http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/447">http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/447</a>. However, to save you some time I have copied the contents in this thread as well:
<i>
When using the BEA WebLogic server, it may be unable to resolve the report location and you may see the error, "Report cannot be found". There are two ways to resolve this problem. </i>
<b>Workaround 1:</b>
1. Remove the <reportlocation> element from the CRConfig.xml file.
2. Place your .rpt files in the WEB-INF/classes folder of the WAR file. Alternatively, package the .rpt files in a JAR file and place it in the WEB-INF/lib folder.
3. When invoking the 'IReportSourceFactory2.createReport Source' or the 'ReportClientDocument.open' method to obtain a report source or report client document, use the report name as the value of the report location parameter. For example, the report location could be specified as "/myReport.rpt", where myReport.rpt is either located in the /WEB-INF/classes folder or in a JAR file located in the /WEB-INF/lib folder.
<b>
Workaround 2:</b>
1. Remove the <reportlocation> element from the CRConfig.xml file.
2. Modify your JSP to use the absolute path to the report name. For example, you could call clientdoc.open(application.getRealPath( "") + "
" + "YourReport.rpt", 0). Note: For workaround 2, you do not need to move the report files.
Give this a try.

  • Detection portlet backing file under weblogic portal

    Hi all
    I am try to work out a interportlet communication example under instruction listed below
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13218_01/wlp/docs92/portlets/ipc.html#wp1025202
    Everything works fine until add action to a backing file. I cannot find such option under event handler wizard. From the documentation, it mentions that
    "The Invoke BackingFile selection will not appear unless a backing file is detected by WebLogic Portal. "
    Is any way that can trigger weblogic portal to detect particular backing file? or any example that I can refer to setup such action manually?
    Any help would be apprectiate, thanks.
    wayne

    Hello Wayne,
    The WebLogic Portal forum is a better place to ask WLP questions:
    WebLogic Portal
    However, to answer your question, you can add a backing file to the portlet in Workshop, or manually in the .portlet file as described (at the bottom of the section) here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13218_01/wlp/docs92/portlets/building.html#wp1077130

  • Can I delete the files under C:\Users\MyAccount\CS6 Master Collection\Adobe CS6

    After installation I've been left with a ton of files under C:\Users\Nathan\CS6 Master Collection\Adobe CS6 - 8.3GB.
    Are these files actually needed? They seem to mostly be setup files. Can I just delete them after installation?

    Hi Nathan,
    The default location for software installation is the program files folder and the default location for the extracted files is usually desktop from where the installation is initiated. You might have chosen the aforementioned folder for extraction.
    If you have already installed the software you can go ahead and delete this folder.

  • Can I add more  files under my accounts on my ipad2 in email so I can store my emails under different files.

    I would like to save some of my emails under different files on my ipad2 like I can on my IMac.  Can I do this and how.  Thank you for you time.

    I am assuming what you want to do is add folders to store your emails.  Assuming your email account is a Pop3 account, there is no way I know of to do it.  If it's an account like Yahoo or Googlemail, you can log into that account and create folders, which will then replicate on your iPad.

  • Urgent! Can't open encrypted file under the same user.

    My system is X61s, Windows XP pro sp3.
    There is no change of user account, no reinstallation or recovery of system.
    I used EPS encrypted some of my important files last month. Without any user account changes and system reinstallation I suddenly can not open the encrypted files anymore. I am aware that the change of user account or reinstalling the system will change the encrypted ID, then the encrypted file will not be opened unless there is a digital certificate of the user that encrypted the file. However I have been using the same user account since I bought the laptop and I have never reinstalled or recovered the system.
    I have tried to encrypted some other files and these files can be opened without any problem. But only the file that I encrypted about a month ago can not be opened.  Those are very important files for me. Can anyone help me to get my files back please!!!

    hello you did not mention any error messages you were facing??
    i can only assume you are getting the follwing messages if you try to open an encrypted file...
    Cause: Encrypting File System (EFS) only works on files and folders on NTFS file system volumes. If the folder or file you are trying to encrypt is on a FAT or FAT32 volume, the Advanced button does not appear in the properties of that folder or file.
    Solution:
    Convert the volume to NTFS with the convert utility.
    Open command prompt
    Type:
    convert drive /fs:ntfs
    where drive is the drive letter of the intended drive.
    "the recovery policy configured for this system contains an invalid security certificate" or "BAD_RECOVERY_POLICY" OCCURS
    Cause: The Encrypting File System (EFS) recovery policy implemented on this computer contains one or more EFS recovery agent certificates that have expired. These certificates cannot be used.
    Solution:
    Either renew the existing certificates or generate new certificates for the EFS recovery agents and reapply the recovery agent policy with those certificates.
    the acess denied message occurs when trying to open an encrypted file
    Cause: The file was encrypted by Encrypting File System (EFS) using a public key certificate and the associated private key for this certificate is not available on this computer.
    Solution:
    Locate the private key for the appropriate certificate and import it onto this computer using the Certificates snap-in.
    Cheers and regards,

  • Can't corrrect some files under repairs permission since 10.5.6

    Hope, someone can help me. Since i have updated to 10.5.6 i have always 4 files that cannot be repairs, and wonder if i should worry about it.. My computer works apparently fine. the report of Disk utility says :

    Rubik wrote:
    Won't it just keep saying "the file has been changed and will not be repaired"?
    That message appears only if the file has been changed from what the database/BOM says it should be. Permissions are not part of files themselves but metadata about the files stored in the file system.
    So yes, the messages will continue to appear until the database/BOM info matches the file, & it is possible that the permissions for those files will somehow become mis-set & not corrected by the permissions repair routine.
    However, keep the following in mind:
    1. Most of these files are fundamental to the operation of the OS. If the permissions are so mis-set that the OS can't use them, you will probably know about it without running the repair.
    2. The likelihood of those (or any other system file's) permissions becoming mis-set is extremely low. The repair is without a doubt the most over-prescribed troubleshooting step for OS X problems, largely because in the early days of the OS (circa 10.0 & 10.1) some poorly written third party installers messed up system permissions & it was necessary to clean up the mess they left behind with a post-install repair. Currently, if something does mess up these permissions, it is likely that it has trashed more than permissions & the repair alone won't fix the problem.
    3. Even if you do use the combo updater to update the database/BOM, you are likely to see these messages again as soon as you install any new updates that patch any system files that the current combo updater does not include. Given the frequency of the release schedule of complete OS updates (be they combo, delta, or patch versions) vs. small maintenance & security updates, it is unlikely that any up-to-date system will be completely free of these messages for long, if at all.
    The bottom line is you can run the combo updater if you want, but it is extremely unlikely to gain you any real, practical, or lasting benefit.

  • Turning "RunConversionVisibly" on under WebLogic

    I'm trying to debug a PDFG problem that is happening on a client site.  I would like to turn on the "RunConversionVisibly" flag.  I have instructions on how to do this in JBoss (using the jmxconsole app to change this MBean property on the PDFMaker service).  I have also managed to perform the same operation using the Java jconsole app under JBoss however I've been unable to utilize jconsole to turn this flag on under WebLogic.
    I'm able to connect jconsole to Weblogic however I don't see the adobe.com MBean.  Just like under JBos, I can see JMImplementation, java.lang and java.util.logging MBeans.  I can also see Security and com.bea MBeans, but no adobe,com MBean.
    The client is running LiveCycle 8.2.1 SP3,WebLogic 10.0, Windows 2003 64-bit, MS SQL Server 2005 SP1.
    How can I turn on "RunConversionVisibly" under WebLogic?

    This appears to be (yet another) bug in ADE2.0/2.0.1, that (randomly?) effect some people, but not all.
    Easiest solution is to install the olver version.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
    The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
    Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
    It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
    Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
  • How is the connection info stored in a .rpt file?
    I'm writing a set of reports that are going to be distributed to many clients across the country. Each one of them will have a different connection string to use.
    I don't want to have to walk each client through setting the datasource location manually.
    Is there anyway I can have the .rpt file look at a config file or something to change the database/server name to the client's settings rather than remembering the settings I have here?
    Our app has a connection string stored in a text file that I could translate into xml or something else.
    If you need more details let me know.
    Hi,
    Need more info-
    VS version?
    CR version?
    Web or win app?
    Also you can provide the connection information in the web.config file and retrieve the information from their as per the requirement(In case of web application).
    Also you can change the connection informatin in code, but the database structure should be same as the reports been designed.
    To download sample code click [here|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/codesamples].
    You can also take help from [Dev library|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/7770]
    Hope this helps!!
