Can't get rid of unwanted blue lines (CS4 on Mac)

Hey I just joined the forum and I have also just started using Premiere yesterday. I am working on a project that shows a drawing being made in pencil. Some of the lines in the drawing has blue in them and I have no idea why. I have looked at video tutorials showing how to use the fast color corrector and the three way color corrector and I have played around with both of those effects and I still can't target just the blue lines.
Does anybody know how to get rid of the blue?

Hi,
Good luck ...
If you want to play around wth color correction filters for future shoots like you did...this info might help...
I can't tell but it looks like you mighta used the existing flourescent lighting ?
If what I read about UV and chips is true you could maybe get a gel roll.  The rolls are about 4 feet by 50 feet or something...
They are way less expensive than photography store CC gels...and you can re-use a lot if you don't crumple it up...
You don't have to worry about scratching them etc..
However, they can be about $100 or so for a roll.
If you have any film equipment rental places in your town they often have "open" rolls where you can get maybe free samples...like enough to cover all your lights...
people just use paper tape ( masking tape) to tape the gels onto flourescents...and wood clothes pins to pin onto barn doors of lights...
These people have places worldwide so I just put the USA links...
homepage for rosco filters

order free swatch books
and gel samples

order free swatch books
and gel samples
and order free sample of the UV absorbtion filter
You'll get sample gels about 8 x 10 inches or so...maybe bigger
The swatch books are small filter samples just big enough to look through and put over your color meter sensor...so you can see how it's working
They love sending samples !

    Hi Heidi,
Do tou mean it only boors to a blue screnn???
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

  • More help for a newbie! Can't get rid of text box lines.

I've made this document and when I export I'm still seeing the lines around the text from the rectangle tool. How do I get rid of these? Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Do you mean these that I have circled?
If so, select one and go to the main tool pallet and click on double arrow on the Fill/Stroke indicator until the stroke is at the front (like this):
Then, click the "Apply None" icon just below (the blank box with the red line). Also, consider getting a good book on InDesign basics. Here's one that's popular: InDesign CS6: Visual QuickStart Guide: Sandee Cohen: 9780321822536: Amazon.com: Books

  • Help!  Can't get rid of unwanted volume; machine won't shut down

    Hi everyone,
This afternoon I used my Maxtor backup (external firewire drive). After I was done with the backup, I clicked "eject" on the disk icon. I may have physically disconnected the disk too soon after that because I got a message saying the disk might have errors on it because I didn't properly eject it. But I didn't worry about it at the time. Tonight when I attempted to shut down my Mac, it would not shut down... and I discovered that there is a volume on the desktop which is the entire contents of the Maxtor back up. I cannot eject it or discard it, and I have the feeling that is the cause of this problem of not being able to shut down. What do I do? The volume does NOT appear on the disk utilities, so I can't reformat it... In any case, it's not really connected to the computer. Feeling a bit scared. Everything else seems to be functioning normally... Help!

Thanks Klaus. I actually fixed this right after I wrote the post. I manually shut down the Mac, then turned it back on, and the volume was gone. I should point out that when I had the Maxtor hooked up to the Mac, I was getting two volumes for one Maxtor drive -- one looked like the regular hard disk icon, the other (the one that wouldn't go away) was a folder with the same title (Maxtor) and was identified in the "Get Info" command as a volume. I was able to eject the regular icon Maxtor, but never the folder. I guess this was some kind of ghost volume... In any case, shutting down the Mac manually seemed to get rid of this problem.

  • How can I get rid of these grey lines in the background of my pages documents?

I bought an app out of the store that game me new templates to use in pages. I used one of the templates in making invitations for my little cousins birthday party but now there are these grey lines in the background that I cant get to go away. any suggestiions?
    thanks!

"the store", "these grey lines"? You realise we can't see what you see. Could you describe the problem and the templates better? If you bought the templates from the MAS, which ones are they?
Perhaps they are just locked objects.
    Can you click on them?
    Menu > Arrange > Unlock
They may also be master objects:
Menu > Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects selectable

  • Can't get rid of swatch pattern lines

I'm creating a map using a woods pattern swatch in Illustrator. There are straight lines which appear seemingly at random when this pattern fills in the perimeter drawn with the pencil tool. Perhaps it's where the swatch pattern repeats itself, and I can't figure a way to remove these before completion and printing. Help appreciated.

    Philip,
    Do this.
With nothing selected on the artboard, go to the Swatches palette and drag the Woods pattern swatch into a blank area of the document. The art that gets dropped there is the current definition of that pattern swatch.
If you go to the Layers palette, and expand the triangles, you will see that the backmost object in the definition is a rectangle with no fill, and no stroke. This rectangle defines how the pattern tiles repeat. Any parts outside the rectangle are ignored. Select that rectangle, and delete it, since it is bigger than it should be. (This may be easier if you ungroup the definition first.)
By the way, where did you originally get this pattern? Is it raster or vector? (I don't have the file to look at like Bert did, just his screen shots.)
Zoom in close enough that the pattern definition almost fills your window. (This is to enable positioning the bounding rectangle precisely so that it will stitch correctly.) If it is a vector pattern, turn on Smart Guides to facilitate snapping. (This won't help if it is a raster pattern.)
Take the rectangle tool. If the pattern is vector, mouse down on one of the anchor points of one of the tree shapes near the top left corner, and drag diagonally to that same anchor point of the corresponding lower left shape, like in this closeup:
If it is raster, do the same thing, but there won't be any anchor points to snap to. Just make sure that the rectangle encloses exactly one copy of each pixel. So if a particular tree pixel is just inside on the left, it should be just outside on the right.
Now do a Send to Back on the rectangle you just drew. Make sure that it has no stroke, and no fill. Only unpainted rectangles in the back of the selection are interpreted as tiling boundaries.
If the pattern is vector, then delete any tree shapes that fall completely outside the tiling rectangle. Also delete that bogus black line at the right hand side.
Now select all the remaining tree shapes and your tiling rectangle.
Alt drag them onto the copy of the bad Woods pattern swatch in the Swatches palette to redefine it. (Regular dragging makes a new swatch with the selected, alt-dragging redefines an existing swatch with the selected objects.
Just clicking on the New Swatch button doesn't do either! It makes a new swatch that corresponds to whatever is displayed in the Fill or Stroke proxy in the Color palette. So what you were ending up doing was making a new bad swatch that was exactly like the old bad one, since that was the last color you filled anything with!
Now your pattern definition should be fixed. When you create new shapes and fill them with that swatch, they should tile correctly.

  • I updated Firefox. Now, I can't get rid of the blue box saying drag drag the icon to the applications folder. Plus another icon to 'eject' firefox opens. Every time I open firefox, they show up. Even Apple Help could not fix it.

I can close the little blue 'drag' box every time I open Firefox, but that is a hassle, and I know it should not be necessary. When I try to eject the 'peripheral' icon, it says I cannot because Firefox is in use. I have to wait until I close Firefox to be able to eject it off the desktop.

    Hi dgbakker-
When you open Firefox and go to the Firefox > About menu, does it say that Firefox is up to date? I've seen at least one other person with this issue, and any more detail would be helpful.

  • How do I get rid of the Blue line around an image that is a link that only happens after a click?

    This is not the standard link problem. I have already put in: a img { border : none; }
That took care of not having a blue border around the image all the time.
My problem is that when I actually click on the image, it flashes with a red outline then turns bright blue and stays there untill I click off the image. Then it turns normal.
I have gone through the CSS and put (border: none) on everything I can think of. These images are in the sidebar, stacked vertically. Each is a link to a page and they are all doing the same thing.
I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
    Thanks, Alice
