Can't get rid of Yahoo on toolbar after installing flash player

I installed the latest Flash player yesterday on Firefox. I had Google on the toolbar for searching, but after I installed flash, it was replaced by Yahoo. Now I can't get rid of Yahoo. I've gone through Firefox's instructions, I've gone through the control panel, I even uninstalled flash player. But Yahoo is still there. I want it gone! How do I get rid of it???

See: "How
to Reset Internet Explorer settings".
Then...
1. Please download and run the Microsoft
Safety Scanner tool (freeware).
2. Reboot your PC.
3. Please download and update Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Free
4. Reboot Windows in Safe
Mode and run a Full
Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
If still no joy...
5. Download and Run AdwCleaner, RogueKiller and Junkware
Removal Tool (Freeware)
6. Reboot and Test.

  • I can't get rid of an AOL toolbar after updating Firefox

With the old version of firefox, I had an AOL toolbar. When I did the upgrade, a second AOL toolbar appeared. When I click the toolbar options point on the toolbar, an options menu drops. But when I click the uninstall choice---the toolbar does not remove. I just get more options to add on to the toolbar I am trying to remove.

    Hi THIVELY,
Since applications from the app store are linked to the Apple ID - in this case your old email - used to purchase or obtain them, you will need to have the password to that Apple ID in order to update those apps. This article will tell  you how to reset that password so you can continue to use that Apple ID -
If you forgot your Apple ID password
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How can I get rid of Yahoo search on Mountain Lion  safari .

I have tried everything to get rid of Yahoo from my newly installed Mountain lion upgrade. I have a MBP mid 2011 17".  . I'm used to using Safari so I would ltke to keep using it. BUT, even though I have Google as my default or perferred search engine, Yahoo keeps coming up. I have already tried hiding tool bar & then individually putting up the print , home.etc. icons. But that doesn't work either. I have searched for an answer to no avail thus far. It's beginning to look like I either use Yahoo w/Safari or switch to FF or Chrome. Any answers I will be grateful for. Thanking you in advance. I could just scream at this point. LOL
And one other thing is bugging me to death. Is there any way to enlarge the toolbar & icons on Mountain Lion. They are very tiny...too tiny. I've tried everything I could think of.

Try deleting the Safari .plist file. Preferences can become corrupted.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go the move the com.apple.Safari.pist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari and check Safari > Preferences  > General. Make sure Google is selected.

  • Clicking the Firefox icon is fine but if I open a new tab it seems Yahoo carries out the search. How can I get rid of Yahoo (not add-ons).

Clicking the Firefox icon to open it is fine but if I open a new tab (Control T) it seems Yahoo carries out the search. How can I get rid of Yahoo? It's not in Tools Add-ons or Extensions and Windows control panel doesn't show Yahoo either.
I must have downloaded something that smuggled Yahoo in, but what?

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

How can I get rid of the iTunes logo after updating my iPhone to iOS 6

    Absolute garbage.
This abysmal excuse "Always have been built in apps" is irrelevant. NOTHING should be tied to the OS of even
a phone so tightly that you can't get rid of it. NONE of the apple crap apps do I use, but they use space on MY phone.
I want the **** things gone.

If it's asking for the original owner's credentials, you cannot "get rid" of it.

  • How can I get rid of Yahoo Search starting up everytime I click + to open a new tab

I recently downloaded a product (can't remember what it was) but
it included the Yahoo Search Toolbar. Now, although I have
disabled the ToolBar, everytime I click on + to open a new tab it
ALWAYS brings up Yahoo Search Box before I can type in the ULR I am wanting to open. It's driving me mad.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of Yahoo Search Box. It does

    Thank you

  • Can't get rid of Yahoo as search engine

I am on Windows 8.1, IE 11, and Yahoo has somehow made itself my default search provider.  When I open a new tab, it automatically loads.  In Manage Add-ons, I have Google set as my default provider and have checked "prevent programs
from suggesting changes to my default search provider". Yahoo is not even there.  I have run my anti-virus and anti-malware scans and removed anything that was a nuisance or threat. I went to Programs and Features on the Control Panel to see if anything was
there that should not be (there was nothing). After doing all that, I restarted my computer and when I went to IE, Yahoo still comes up.  How can I get rid of it?

  • How Can I get rid of Yahoo home page? Changing home page doesn't work.

A week or two ago, Yahoo started coming up as my home page. No matter how many times I change it back to Bing, every time I bring up Firefox, there is Yahoo as the home page. Changing it back to Bing and clicking ok is not working. I'm getting a little frustrated with this. How do I get rid of Yahoo coming up as my home page when I did not even ask for it?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
    Sincerely,
    cbrsarah

Hi johnbarr, please start a new question for further discussion since the original poster has marked this one as solved.
For more information on viewing and managing your add-ons in Firefox, see:
    * [[Find and install add-ons to add features to Firefox]] (you'll notice there are several categories of add-ons on the page, the most important are Plugins and Extensions)

  • After installing Flash player I still get the message "this website wants to run the following add in: Adobe Flash Player from Adobe Systems Inc". I click allow but the message keeps coming back and I can´t get rid off it. What to do?

Running Windows 7 Home edition, 64.

Alright guy's It always happens. Over 90% of the time it's just a matter of time before i fix my own problems. I solved my problem and now it works perfectly fine.
I'm gonna say how i fixed it so who ever finds this page on google can see how i did it. I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player using the uninstaller from adobe http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe after i did that i went to my system32 folder and delete my adobe folder which still had files left over in it (Deleted the whole macromed folder) C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
Note, You need to exit any browser you have up (IE,Firefox, ect) or else you will not be able to delete it and it'll say access denied. After deleting that i installed Adobe Flash Player with a .exe i downloaded from Adobe and it worked perfect! No more annoying message
Side note, I'm use XP so the marcomed folder might possible be somewhere else if you are useing Vista or Windows 7.

  • How can I get rid of the personal toolbar which is always displayed

    Hi,
Just migrated from xp to win 8.1 on a new computer.
In the process of cleaning up my firefox bookmarks and personal bookmark folder I must have done a wrong manipulation.
My personal bookmark bar is now always visible across the top of the screen.
I just don't want this and want to get rid of that continuous display. What did I do wrong and how can I mend this?
    Thank you in advance,
    LL

    Hi,
You can hide that by following:
    *Click the orange Firefox button
*Go to View > Toolbars > and uncheck ''Bookmarks Toolbar''

  • How can I get rid of the playlist bar in the music player?

Hello everyone! I want to know if I can get rid of the transparent playlist bar which shows over the cover artwork in the music player (ios 6) or Lagu. When I play one song alone, the artwork shows fully and that's how I would like it to be when playing playlists. Is there a way? In the ios 7 the artwork this does not happen, but the artwork is smaller and on a white background, which I don't like either. Thank you.

Sounds like you installed a Yahoo optimized version of Firefox.
You can download the official version of Firefox from here. <br />

The kids were playing around w/computer. The only way I can get rid of the electronic voice is selecting "Mute" I tried going into system preferences and speech but had no luck.

You may have switch on the VoiceOver accessibility feature (System Preferences -> Speech;(fn) Cmd-F5)

  • Can't get rid of Untitled DVD.fpbf after trying to write onto bad DVD

I apparenlty had a bad set of DVDs, which I discovered by having tried to back up some data onto them. Fair enough. But the problem occurs after the bad disc is discovered. When finder discovers (and reports) that the disc is bad, I am forever unable to "remove" the burn folder entries listed on the lower-left panel of the finder window. This happens for every disc fails, so I now have a list of these unremovable burn folders down there. I can't drag them to the trash can, and I can't open them (the error says the folder can't be found).
    what now?

It seems to me there are only two possiblities:
    1. The aborted burn folder actually still exists somewhere and so keeps reappearing, or
    2. A permanent entry for it got recorded to the sidebar plist file even though the thing is actually gone
If it is there but no longer visible a search using something that sees invisibles, such as find in the Terminal or EasyFind should turn it up. If it exists only in the Sidebar's imagination, then removing
    "/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.sidebarlists.plist"
and logging out/in should get rid of the spurious entries.
