Can't install Support Advisor – "unknown developer"

Having installation/migration problems with Photoshop CS5 on my new MacBook Pro (to be described in a separate discussion), I obediently downloaded Adobe Support Advisor, mounted the disk image, and double-clicked the installer. But Mavericks said no way, nohow, contrariwise — this "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer". I downloaded it again via Safari and tried again, with the same result. WTH? Did Adobe forget to register itself with Apple? What could be causing this error message? More importantly, what can I do about it?

2148532241 means that you have 1GB or less of free space on your expandible memory (the SD). You only have to delete some files and get free space. After that, everything works fine.

Hey Adobe here's an idea.
Maybe have some sort of actual customer support instead of this virtual support group where users have to try and figure out your product.

There's a similar bug for Firefox that produces the error,

Can't install downloaded CR XI Developer from SAP - file corrupt?

The file is .zip file download that will not install. It gives me an error:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I'm running as an domain admin on a w2k3 server... I have permission, I even double checked. Is this file corrupt?

click on the link in the middle of the page and then filter on CR XI Release 2. Or Release 1 if you really need it. CR XI R2 is a free upgrade from XI R1.
Get Service Pack 4 full build and then SP 6 and use your keycode to install.
Or try a different browser to download it.

There was a pupop with there is a problem with the shared technics. We have to stop the intallation. Roll back and restart the pc.
I trayed tob urn the program and install.
I made a new account

Problem with installing Photoshop elements 9 and adobe support advisor

Hi, I've received a graphic tablet with 2 programs: the first has been downloaded and works perfectly while the second, PSE9, has been giving me problems for at least a week!
I downloaded it and now I have a winzip file full of strange things (one of this is set up exe which tells me that I have to install adobe support advisor) and two files which said 3DF.tmp and PSEP9(1).zip.download and if I try to click them they tell me that I have to find on the Net the program to open them because I can't. And I don't know which program is required.
I tried a lot of times to download the adobe support advisor, I have enough space on my disc and my farewall is deactivated, but when the program begins I saw this annoyant message

I unistalled it and retried, but nothing.

In the error message it doesn't tell me
"Installer has detected that a machine restart is pending. It is recommended that you quit the installer, restart try again,"
neither "Installer failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
and I have enough space and I have Windows xp then I should be able to install it. I tried to unistall and install again the support advisor but nothing. I'm desperate.

The CC Cleaner Tool assumes the Akamai Download Manager is activated and it has not. It seems to be the missing file that triggers the error message. \in a previous re-install I was prompted to download & install the Akamai Download Manger, but not this time. Is there somewhere on the Adobe website that I can download it??

Installing CS5.5 when Adobe Support Advisor is discontinued

Hi guys,
I thought I would reach out as I just purchased a new rMBP and am moving from my MBA. I grabbed my installer to get CS5.5 on the new machine; however, I am met with an error:
When I click the link to 'get Adobe Support Advisor', it seems the product has discontinued and I am pushed off to you guys: the forums. I tried chatting and calling Adobe but it seems they don't offer support for the product any longer. It is quite frustrating, as you all know, CS costs thousands!
Would anyone be able to offer a remedy? I would appreciate your time.

Thank you for your reply! I get this error message before the installer even loads, so even though I navigate to /Library/Logs/Installers, the folder is empty. I assume that even though the link heads to CC directions, the same steps still apply even though I have 5.5? I will admit, it is quite frustrating that you can spend thousands on software, yet Adobe won't help you get it installed on a computer! Ha.

Can't install CC apps. Created a support package 40-83419-223817072013.

Purchased CC today on the annual plan.
Tried to install one of the applications.
Can't complete the install / update of Application Manager.
At one point was getting error code "A12E1".
Followed various guidelines in user forums and finally got "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
Have an old version of Application Manager installed, but it won't execute and a file: "F:Adobe Application Manager"
(I don't want any Adobe files on my C: drive if I can avoid it.)
Now I have a new file: "F:Adobe Application Manager 7.0"
Got Adobe Support Advisor running. It told me "Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance."
Created a support package with token number: 40-83419-223817072013.
Running Windows 7 with all fixes in place.

2. Disable the Startup Items and Services, check it here http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html
3. Enabling the hidden Admin user in Window 7 64-bit, check it here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/
Run the installer again in the Hidden Admin in Windows 7.

I NEED DLT support, can I install only Encore 5.5 along side CS6??

I need DLT support (dropped from CS6 thru some brain-fart by Adobe), can I install only Encore 5.5 and not the rest of the Creative Suite without interfering with CS6? I need to master dual-layer DVDs to DLT tapes and CS6 does not support DLT anymore. For single layer DVDs I can create them in CS6 and master the ISO out to tape on another computer running Encore CS2, but that method doesn't support dual-layer ISOs, they have to be mastered to DLT directly from Encore.
I do not use dynamic link and am fine with using CS6 to get the video ready for conversion to MPEG and AC3. I just don't want to mess up CS6 and don't want a lot of crap I won't be using (the rest of CS5.5) laying around on my hard disk waiting to foul me up in some way in the future.
Anyone done this, heard of it being done, etc?
If I need to I'll revert entirely back to CS5.5, but I REALLY like CS6 except for the one disaster where DLT mastering support was dropped out (a move which may truly be a deal breaker on CS6 for me).

No problem installing CS6 over CS5 and/or CS5.5.
I did not find anything in the PR forum right off to give us an example of CS5.5 over CS6. CS4 over CS5 was a problem, and I developed the general belief that one should not install a lower version after a higher. It is not always a problem, but I don't trust it.
I have CS5, CS5.5, and CS6 installed together with no problems. But I installed in that order.
If I were you, I'd consider biting the bullet, uninstalling CS6 (with all the cleaning etc), and then install CS5.5 and then CS6.
Alternatively, do a fresh install of your whole system.
If either of those two reinstalls, you could install CS5.5 over CS6, and let us know how you fare!

"unknown developer" prohibits me from installing software

I have run into this several times.
I double click (or control-click) a downloaded package to install software and OS-X mavericks refuses to open this because it is from an unknown developer. Very irritating.
Can this be beaten?

Right-click on the Application icon, and select Open. On the following dialog, select Open again. OS X will then validate the application, and subsequent launches of the application will be normal. This is an inherent OS X security protocol. In System Preferences ▸ Security & Privacy : General, you can modify this behavior in the radio buttons under Allow apps downloaded from settings. Anywhere is convenient, and potentially dangerous.
