Can't link Aperture 3 to my existing Flickr sets

I linked my Aperture app to Flickr. Not problem with the verification. However, I get the triangle with the exclamation point next to each set when I try to show them. I'm totally stuck.

Working fine for me, can you try again?

  • Modular JavaHelp? Can the Merge function cope with non-existent help sets?

We are writing a universal application which is intended eventually to manage perhaps 20 different pieces of our equipment. There will be a skeleton/umbrella application that is always present, and each customer will receive plug-in modules for the pieces of equipment they buy.
We want the help system to seamlessly display all and only the modules that are present, indexed and made searchable; without mentioning others that are not present.
My predecessors here were convinced that JavaHelp could cope with that. I don't see how.
Three of the twenty modules are ready to go now, and I don't know what to do about the 17 or so that are missing. Do I add them to the main help set via the merge function using ficititous names and locations which then have to be recorded for posterity so the other modules when they are issued will know what to call their help and where to put it? If I don't add their names now, how will the main help set know when and if they show up?
TIA for any advice and suggestions you have.

We are doing something similar. In our case, the skeleton app has a plugin extension point for help. Its a very simple extension point only specifying the path to a javahelp helpset. Any plugin modules that extend this extension point have those help sets loaded into the main skeleton help. Java helps merge capability makes this all possible.

  • Why did Aperture suddenly start pulling exisiting Flickr sets into my lib?

This is a major annoyance and causes a lot of concern on my part.
My flickr stream is full of images that did not originate from Aperture, and I don't want them in my Aperture library either. They're old, shot from different cameras, etc...and my Aperture library is "reserved" for my newer images shot on DSLR's.
However, now I'm afraid of deleting all of those old sets out from Aperture, since I have no idea if its going to delete them from flickr upon the next "sync"
This was a horrible decision on Apple's part. Anyone have a workaround short of disabling the sync altogether? I see that there is now a preference item with a checkbox "automatically check for newly published albums" which I have now deactivated, but the damage is done...ALL of my sets (hundreds) have been added to my Aperture library, at least the reference to them. I have not manually synced any of them.

I disabled sync as well, and my plan is not to enable it again before Apple/Flickr come with a decent implementation. In other words: no, I do not have any good ideas to offer, just my sympathy.

  • I have reached full memory capacity on my 500GB Time Capsule. I am considering purchasing a 2TB Time Capsule. Do I need to resave all existing data on the new hard drive or can I start afresh? Or can I link both time capsules to operate independantly?

    Hi,
I  have reached full memory capacity on my 500GB Time Capsule. I am considering purchasing a 2TB Time Capsule.
    a) Do I need to resave all existing data on the new hard drive or can I start afresh?
    b) Or can I link both time capsules to operate independantly?
    Thanks,
    Paul

You may not need to buy a new Time Capsule.
You can connect a USB drive to the Time Capsule, and use it in addition to the TC's internal HD.  You may need a powered USB hub as well.
Exactly what is on your TC?  If it's only Time Machine backups, you may not need to do anything -- Time Machine will delete the oldest backup(s) automatically when it needs room for new ones.  But if you have more than about 250 GB on your internal HD, that 500 GB may not be large enough to keep backups long enough.
If you have other data on the TC's internal HD, besides your backups, you could back up to the external HD and use the internal for the other data, or vice-versa.  But TM backups cannot "span" two drives, and you shouldn't mix backups and other data on the TC's internal HD.

  • How can I unlock the copy protection of songs that I've acquired some years ago with an old - and non existing anymore - account? Can I link the songs to my new account or do I have to purchase them again?

How can I unlock the copy protection of songs that I've acquired some years ago with an old - and non existing anymore - account? Can I link the songs to my new account or do I have to purchase them again?

If you're in the US, you will be able to use iTunes Match for $25 a year to remove copy protection in a few months: http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/
If you're not, you can't.  You can authorise iTunes with the old account in addition to your current account, so all your songs will play, but I'm not sure what will happen if you try to sync them to an iPod.

  • How can I link all Apple accounts to my Apple Id

Over the years, I have aquired user and pass words fo iCloud, Apple.com, Apple id, Apple iPod, Apple iTouch and Apple iTunes. Can I link all of these to my new Apple ID?

All Apple services use your Apple ID, so just sign into the service using the new ID you wish to use.
You will not, however, be able to transfer items purchased from the iTunes Store from an old Apple ID to a new one, nor will there be any way to change an existing iCloud account to a new one so that any documents or backups stored there will transfer over. Nor any way to change an existing iTunes Match account to a new Apple ID that I am aware of.
    Regards.

  • Can I use aperture 3 in live view shooting on my macbook pro

Can I use aperture 3 in live view on my mac boook pro ?

    Why would you use two?
It is much cheaper and better to simply use a usb drive..
The TC cannot be linked to store files or automatically back them up.. whereas a usb drive at least will be backed up by Time Machine.
If you want to do this properly get a real NAS.. that has mirrored drives and real rsync type backup. You can use an airport extreme for wireless.

  • Build a blank/other type of page which can show links to other pages

Can someone please tell me how to build a blank/other type of page which can show links to other pages? I mainly want a page to show 3 links, once someone clicks on it, then it will go to a specified page. I tried using URL, but that did not work. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your help in advance.
    -Grace

Do a region (probably a HTML-based one is fine), enter in the HTML for your links, and that should be it. What didn't work about this?
Your links probably should appear like this in your coding (use substitution variables):
    f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&APP_SESSION.
In the above example, "&APP_ID." will resolve dynamically to the application ID that you are in, "3" is page 3 (change this to whatever page you want the link to be), and "&APP_SESSION." is the existing session number (if you don't include this, the user will receive a new session ID if the destination page is public or will be intercepted annoyingly to log in and get a new session ID which you probably don't want).
Do not include the full http path. Just start with f?p... and everything is assumed to be relative to Apex on the current environment.
Those are effectively the minimum requirements for a URL in Apex to go from one page to another in an app. You can add to that the additional URL parameters for Request value, Set items with values, clear cache, reset pagination, etc. if you need to. Check the Apex online help under "understanding URL syntax" for details on these.

    Quit Aperture.
Go to your Macintosh HD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.

there's a lot of good info in the link referenced above...A simple answer to your question (IMO) is that the pages get created by Ap (look in your iDisk, a folder named "Sites")...now getting it referenced from "homepage.mac.com" is another (mystery) story. In the past two days, I've tried to get answers from .mac support and by the time they get around to looking into the situation (not being able to reference the pages from homepage), the problem is fixed and it works. I suspect there is some directory linkage built that happens during an overnight maintenance routine or something....but the bottom line for what I'm seeing is:
    1) web pages created outside of homepage (from Ap for example) are not immediately available through that server;
    2) they must be added through some other mechanism, but seem to be available the next day
    3) for someone with basic html knowlege, there is probably a way around this, but I wanted something reasonably easy to do...
I hope this helps...it IS frustrating.
    cheers,

  • Can a completed Aperture photo book be placed on a website for viewing by friends?  I already had several copies successfully printed by Apple.

Can a completed Aperture photo book be placed on a website for viewing by friends?  I already have several copies successsfully printed by Apple?  Thanks. Buzz22

There is no direct web publishing of a book, sorry. But as a work-around: You can print your book to pdf - select it in the book in the Inspecktor panel and use "Print book".  Then select the "PDF" buttun in the print panel and save a pdf file. Upload the pdf to a server for sharing (ftp, Drop box) and send your friends a link or place a link to the file on a webpage.

  • I can't get Aperture 3.4.3 to setup Flickr

    Hi All,
Any ideas why I can't get Aperture 3.4.3 to setup and authorise against my Flickr account? When I press the Setup button, it opens the browser, logs me into my Flickr home page and then does nothing else. I have tried three different browsers; cleared cookies; cleared cache. I've even checked my Keychain based on information from other questions of the same nature.
I've even tried reinstalling Aperture, but no luck. I've tried this from Lightroom 4 and it works with no problem at all.
I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest something else to try
Incidentally, it authorises against Facebook again with no problem. It's just Flickr that's the problem.
    Thanks

    To your other question:
not even sure where the photo library exists on my hard drive...or is it proprietary to the Aperture?
By default the Aperture library will be created in your "Pictures" folder. It will show an icon like a  "Fan of Pictures".
You need to update Aperture version 3.6, to be able to run Aperture with Yosemite. When you call Apple Support, they will ask for a proof of purchase for Aperture to be able to send a redeem code. This document describes, what counts as a proof of purchase:  Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers

  • Suddenly Can't Open Aperture vr 1.5.4

    Hi,
New to this board so please bear with me. I've done a search but can't seem to find my issue. For the last year I've been using Aperture vr 1.5.4 with my MacBook successfully. I updated to Leopard and all was fine. Two days ago when I went to open Aperture I received this message, "You can't use this version of the application Aperture with this version of Mac OS X". I went to the update site and downloaded the vr 1.5.4 updates. When I went to install them I got this message, "Alert - Aperture 1.0 or later is required to install this update." I've done a disc repair and that didn't help. I can get in Aperture by going through the back door (exe files). I'd greatly appreciate any help or being pointed in the direction of an existing discussion of problem.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Sprague
