Can't logon Visual Administrator due to a java exception

Hello,
since my last logon to VA, I cannot anymore logon to Visual Administrator with my admin user. Last time, I changed the Security Provider - authentication template for the SAP-J2EE-ENGINE component.
Here is my trace:

  • Can not start Visual Administrator (halt at 99%)

    Hi,
When I start Visual Administrator, its status halt at 99%.
Visual Administrator can not open normally.
    The version is EP7.0 SP11.
    Could anyone help me? thanks!

    Hi Chai Ming,
Can you see anything in the log files? Perhaps it's a permissions issue?
Try creating a brand new connection from scratch rather than using the default and connect using that and generaly a server restart will do the trick in fixing it. Although clearly this is not a long term solution.
Visual Administrator is being replaced by the web administrator located  http://<host>:<port>/nwa.
If you cannot restart or find a fix you might like to simply start using the webinterface when possible.
Not a solution I know, but thought the tip might help.
    Cheers

  • Maximum no of administrator users that can login into Visual Administrator

    Hi All,
I am using WAS 640 ( ABAP + JAVA Addin) .. I wanted to know is there any parameter that i can set to limit the number of users (all with administrator rights) who can login into the Visual Administrator tool simultaneously...
    Thanx...

    Try this
To increase the maximum number of opened connections and/or the time to wait for a new connection you should change the DataSource properties in the Visual Administrator or manually modify of the data-sources.xml file.
The necessary steps in the Visual Administrators are as follows:
    a.  Open the Visual Administrator and select Server Services JDBC Connector.
    b.  Select the appropriate DataSource within the Runtimetab on the right.
    c. Select the tab named Additional.
    d. Set the desired values for the fields Maximum Connectionsand/or Maximum Time to Wait for Connection.
    e. After your modification select Save. The Visual Administrator will prompt you for application redeployment. After confirming that, you should be able to get the connection from the database.
    thanks

  • Problem logon Visual Administrator

    Hi everybordy
Sorry to bother you, but I am a total newbie to SAP. I have downloaded the sneak preview of web as, installed it and am now running the visual administrator. For the logon I choose default (user Administrator) and it asks me for a password. What is that password? I've tried sap, the one I entered during installation, but nothing works.
    Any help?

    Hi Roland,
If you have installed Sneak Preview WebAS java edition on SP 11 & want to login to Visual Admin well you have to use the following ;-
User id in Visual Admin is "admin" and please note it is not "administrator".
Password for the userid "admin" is also "admin".
    Port is 50004.
    Hope it solves ur problem.
    Regards,
    Guru Subramanian B.
P.S :- let me know if your problem is solved.Reward points if  your problem is solved fully.

    Hi
    Just a  wild guess but.....
Is your backend set up to accept logon tickets.  I assume the logon ticket is being created from the portal end so you will have to configure R/3 to accept logon tickets from the portal.
Check the parameter settings for single sign on in R/3
    login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1

    Hi All,
Since a couple of days, I have a problem concerning authentication to the java apllication on a SAP Netweaver 2004s.
Using the user ‘Administrator’, I CAN logon the Visual Administrator tool, with the same user I tried to logon via http://host:port/nwa without success.
At the beginning, I was thinking about a problem of password then I enabled the emergency user SAP*, the problem was the same. Ok with Visual Administrator but not via http.

<b>Do you have an idea for me? Why a user can connect via Visual Administrator and not via the http interface?</b>
    Thanks in advance
    Yves

    Hi,
I found the solution this last week-end.
This behavior let's thinking to a problem of authentication.
But the problem was in SQL, an index was missing in table J2EE_CONFIG, called J2EE_CONFIG_I3

  • Visual Administrator Download?

    Hello!
Can I download Visual Administrator from somewhere? I want do administrate my testdrive was 640 on linux with it from a windows client. Is that possible?
    With best regards
    Björn Karpenstein

    hi Bjorn,
Copy the <b>GO.JAR</b> file from the server in the same path (usr\sap\..\..\j2ee\admin\) to your computer and run it.
in the logon window, say <b>CONNECT TO</b> your server in connection tab.
Give the corresponding parameters and connect.
Mind you have to save the go.jar file in the same path as it is in the server.

Visual Administrator is supposed to be located here:

    Thanks, Julia

    hi julia,

  • [SAP NetWeaver 2004] Can't logon in Visual Administrator

    Hi community,
I can't login in Visual Administrator with SAP NetWeaver 2004 - Trial Version on Linux (NW4)
I try to logon using J2EE_ADMIN/ADMIN as login/password but when I try to connect it remains in connecting state.
In the logs I can see the following error:
Caller J2EE_ADMIN not authorized, only role administrators is allowed to access JMX
User J2EE_ADMIN on SU01 transaction seems correctly configured, and has the role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN
    Where do I go wrong?
    Thanks, Valerio
PS I know this release is old and not supported but it's not so resource-demanding as the 2004s version

    Hi Valerio,
I think you dont have correct password maintained in the secure store. please try this.
    1. check if j2ee_admin is locked or not in SU01.
    2. if you know j2ee_admin's correct password
    - go to configtool, by running /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/configtool/configtool.sh
    - in the secure store maintain the password of j2ee_admin in the field "admin/password/<SID>"
    - set and this will ask you to restart java cluster.
    - restart the java cluster by going through SMICM tcode in ABAP side. SMICM > Adminstration > J2ee cluster global > send hard shutdown > with restart.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error in security provider logon stack: no logon to visual administrator

Probably i made a mistake in configuring SAP-J2EE-Engine security provider login modules.
Now i cannot logon to Visual Administrator, it tells me
    "Error while connecting
    com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Access Denied."
Is there a way to reset login module stack from configtool or in some config file?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Simone Zaffalon

    Hi
you can configure your login stack configuration using config tool. Config tool works locally against the server's database, thus no authentication is required.
    1. Be sure that your server is not running! (shutdown SAP J2EE processes)
    2. Launch config tool ("use default db settings").
    3. switch to configuration editor mode (the most-right icon in the icon toolbar)
    4. navigate to security-->configurations
Here you find your logon stacks and the login modules contained within them. Click on the "pencil" icon for changing your current configuration.
See the thread below .It will resolve your issue
    Unable to access Visual Admin
Points are welcome if it is helpful
