Problem logon Visual Administrator

Hi everybordy
Sorry to bother you, but I am a total newbie to SAP. I have downloaded the sneak preview of web as, installed it and am now running the visual administrator. For the logon I choose default (user Administrator) and it asks me for a password. What is that password? I've tried sap, the one I entered during installation, but nothing works.
Any help?

Hi Roland,
If you have installed Sneak Preview WebAS java edition on SP 11 & want to login to Visual Admin well you have to use the following ;-
User id in Visual Admin is "admin" and please note it is not "administrator".
Password for the userid "admin" is also "admin".
Port is 50004.
Hope it solves ur problem.
Regards,
Guru Subramanian B.
P.S :- let me know if your problem is solved.Reward points if  your problem is solved fully.

  • Certificate upload problems in Visual Administrator (Elster)

    Hello all,
to communicate with german tax authorities we have to upload a certificate to the Visual Administrator. The necessary steps are described in SAP Note 1279472 and 1275854.
When I upload the certificate the Visual Administrator asks for another certificate after I entered the correct password ("Load chain certificate #1 from"). And then I get the error messages
"Certificate: ID21143: Certificate format error: java.lang.ClassCastException" and
"Certificate: ID21112: Not a PKCS#8 formatted key. PublicKey algorithm not implemented: PKCS#7 data"
As I followed the notes step by step I have no idea why it doesn't work. What other reasons can there be?
    Best regards,
    David

    Hi David,
can you please tell what type of certificate you are trying to upload? which format? That we way we can figure out the problem you are facing.
Try to include all the certificates botht the private key and the public key together in the PKCS12 format. If you have all certifcates try to use Open ssl tool to convert into pkcs12 format and then try to import into VA and i think this should work.
If you dont use the PKCS12 format then the VA will keep on asking for the certiifcates. This is what i had once and may be different in your case
    Thanks,

  • Visual Administrator - Login Problem

    hi all,
I am having problem starting visual administrator.since i am a new user here, i am provided with the user id/password ( not Administrator UID/PW ) and told that it has necessary authorizations.
when i try to start the VA by using my UID/PW and given connection paramters with the http port 55000,
Getting an error- unable to look up a connection "name i gave"
unable to lookup connection with the parameters "name i gave : port"
Lookup connection via message server - ( i chose this option while creating connetion paramters )
Direct connection to a dispatcher node
what am i doing wrong ? don't i have necessary permissions or i need to use the administrator and password ?
And we have two instances ( MD1 & MD2 ) running on the same server..how do i get the diiferent instance in VA by giving the same http port 55000 ?
I am not able to login..please help.
    Addy

    Nicholls,
I mentioned it wrongly..The P4 port was 55004 only..but the message server port shows only 3960.
    > The Java message server port is normally 81xx, where xx is the instance number of SCS. I can't guess what that value is, but it is often 1  number higher than the CI number (in your case 50, which means SCS of 51).
The CI is 50..but why do we calculate 81xx ? And i always check the system info page only for any port information..that shows me only 3960.
Is it how we need to calculate for message port ( 81xx )...I was not knowing that..!
Now, I tried with 8151 also as per your guidance..but, no luck..:-(
    Thanks!

  • Problem when login to Visual Administrator

    Hi all,
Here is a problem while login into visual administrator.when i run go.bat file it is throwing a syntax error.
So,can anyone suggest me how to resolve.
As i need to active the services to run AE for Netweaver PI.
    Thanks,
    Kalyan.

    Hi,
Try logging on the ABAP stack withthe J2EE_ADMIN and changing the password there.
Or you can update the password in the secure store area (admin/password<SID>)of the configtool.bat.
Try this very simple procedure and also try to check the below things also but try the first option.
Please follow steps one by one. it should resolve your issue.
Reasons for this issue; plz check it one by one.
    1. Did you configure with ABAP? if yes, plz do below steps:
Plz assign SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role to J2EE_ADMIN user.
    2. VA login dialog; Please check Port(5xx04) is right?
    3. Admin password is wrong or lockecd.
If yes, Activate SAP* then reset or unlock it. For this jus follow below steps:
If you forgot or lock "Administrator or J2EE_ADMIN" password just follow below steps:
    STEP-1: Enable "SAP*"
    1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
    Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
    2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = TRUE"
4.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.password=<Enter any password ex: abc123>"
    5.Save.
    6.Restart the engine.
STEP-2: Login with "SAP*" into portal
    1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp
    2. Enter userid / password as" SAP* / <password ex: abc123>"
    3. Search for "Administrator" user
    4. Reset or change password for "Administrtor"
    STEP-3: Disable "SAP*"
    1.Start the Config Tool C:\usr\sap\<SID>\<engine-instance>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
    Ex: D:\usr\sap\F02\JC00\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
    2.Goto cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    3.Double-click on the property "ume.superadmin.activated = FALSE"
    4.Save.
    5. Restart the engine.
    STEP-4: Login with "Administrator"
    1. http://<host>:<Port>/useradmin/index.jsp
    2. Enter userid / Password as "Administrator / <password>
    3. it will ask change password just change it.
Please reward points if it helps
    Thanks

  • Error in security provider logon stack: no logon to visual administrator

Probably i made a mistake in configuring SAP-J2EE-Engine security provider login modules.
Now i cannot logon to Visual Administrator, it tells me
    "Error while connecting
    com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Access Denied."
Is there a way to reset login module stack from configtool or in some config file?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Simone Zaffalon

    Hi
you can configure your login stack configuration using config tool. Config tool works locally against the server's database, thus no authentication is required.
    1. Be sure that your server is not running! (shutdown SAP J2EE processes)
    2. Launch config tool ("use default db settings").
    3. switch to configuration editor mode (the most-right icon in the icon toolbar)
    4. navigate to security-->configurations
Here you find your logon stacks and the login modules contained within them. Click on the "pencil" icon for changing your current configuration.
See the thread below .It will resolve your issue
    Unable to access Visual Admin
Points are welcome if it is helpful

  • [SAP NetWeaver 2004] Can't logon in Visual Administrator

    Hi community,
I can't login in Visual Administrator with SAP NetWeaver 2004 - Trial Version on Linux (NW4)
I try to logon using J2EE_ADMIN/ADMIN as login/password but when I try to connect it remains in connecting state.
In the logs I can see the following error:
Caller J2EE_ADMIN not authorized, only role administrators is allowed to access JMX
User J2EE_ADMIN on SU01 transaction seems correctly configured, and has the role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN
    Where do I go wrong?
    Thanks, Valerio
PS I know this release is old and not supported but it's not so resource-demanding as the 2004s version

    Hi Valerio,
I think you dont have correct password maintained in the secure store. please try this.
    1. check if j2ee_admin is locked or not in SU01.
    2. if you know j2ee_admin's correct password
    - go to configtool, by running /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/configtool/configtool.sh
    - in the secure store maintain the password of j2ee_admin in the field "admin/password/<SID>"
    - set and this will ask you to restart java cluster.
    - restart the java cluster by going through SMICM tcode in ABAP side. SMICM > Adminstration > J2ee cluster global > send hard shutdown > with restart.
    Hope this helps.

  • Visual Administrator problem while running DB2

    Hi,
I'm using the Sneak Preview of SAP Web AS 630. I want to use a DB2 a application database. I've installed SAP Web AS and DB2 at one Win2000 PC.
When I'm starting Visual Administrator while DB2 is running the progress bar runs to 99% and stops. I'm seeing the tree of the Dispatcher only. When DB2 is stopped the Visual Administrator works as wanted.
    Any ideas?

    Hello,
    I got the solution:
DB2 uses in default configuration Port 50000.
SAP WebAS uses in default configuration Port 50000 (http) and Port 50001 (ssl). With the config tool you may reconfigure it to 60000/60001 maybe.

  • Error in Visual Administrator Logon

    Hi everyone,
I have installed PI with cluster, when i try open Integration Repository, appears the one message with error "...5000/P4".
Then, I have change "P4 Provider" in Visual Administrator to resolve the error above.
In bindHost i have changed the bindHost value for (myhost1:mythost2), list of hosts separed with ":".
After change value above, i restarted the NW Instance.
But now, when i try to do login in Visual Administrator, occurs the following error:
Connot open connection on host "myhost" and port "50104"
I already connect with ports 50000 until 50004 but always occurs the same error listed above.
    Can anyone help me

Did you put the host name or the IP address (4 octets) <IP address>:<IP address>
We run VCS cluster and we used this scenario it worked for us in the past XI 3.0 SP13.  We are now on PI 7.0 SP13 and removed the Hostbind value and that works just fine.  We are using virtual hostname with VCS and failover the hostname to the alternate host.  This seemed to work just fine in our DR test scenario integrated testing (in this test we did not run any actual load against our systems, but all checks were normal).
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
I found the solution this last week-end.
This behavior let's thinking to a problem of authentication.
But the problem was in SQL, an index was missing in table J2EE_CONFIG, called J2EE_CONFIG_I3
