Can't Open a photo sent via iPhoto on Blackberry

When I email a Photo via iPhoto to a friend's Blackberry, she is not able to open the photo, it shows as a jpeg, but she can't open.
If I send a photo to her Blackberry from my iPhone she is able to open.
It appears that it is only with Photos sent from a Mac, same thing happens when her father tries to send Photos to her from his Mac.

Thanks, that works when I start a new email from mail and send the photo as an attachment. It does not work when I click on a photo in iPhoto and send it?
If you select a photo in iPhoto, click mail, once mail opens you go to the format menu and make it plain text it does not work?

Photos sent via iPhoto not able to be opened by Gmail users

My mom and mother in law, who have gmail on their computers, cannot open my iPhoto emails. Their computers say the message is sent "via securance" and thus won't display the pics. It also does not give them the option to click on / see pics.

Every version since 2006 has the ability to run a referenced library. But the key differences between it and apps like (the very excellent) Graphic Converter are Lossless Processing and OS intergration.
iPhoto has changed enormously in the last few iterations, it's now effectively a lite version of Aperture. Many preconceptions people formed about earlier versions are now completely out of date. (Many were wrong then too...)

Can I see email already sent via iPhoto 9.2?

I created an email of 6 photos in iPhoto 9.2 and sent it. No problem. BUT... I wanted a copy of this email to send to others as well. I guess I could've just senta copy to myself additionally at the same time but.... well, I forgot. It was quite comprehensive and important to me, so is there a way to access the email that was sent so I can copy it or resend it to others? I just can't imagine re-writing all the letter that went with the photos...

The email feature on iPhoto is ahandy way to send a snap to Grandma, it's no replacement for a serious Mail application. As Larry says, use Mail. It can do everythig that iPhoto does - including Templates - and a whole lot more.
You can also set iPhoto to BCC each mail to yourself in the iPhoto Preferences.

Can't open indesign files sent via email

hello, a customer sent me indesign-files (CS6, CS4 and IDML). i think they are using the mac version. i have indesign CS6 on pc and everytime i try to open one of the files, indesign reports an failure: missing file oder missing authorisation. does anyone know any solution?

As previously mentioned, the files must be extracted from any archive and saved to a hard drive location before you open it. I have seen this error message once or twice in the past with a file that should have opened (stored on a network drive, which may have played a role), I think. They didn't happen to also include the .idlk file with what they sent? If so, delete it.
Have you tried clicking the "As a Copy" radio button inthe open dialog to make a new, untitled copy? If that works you can save with a new name and move on.

TS2755 iPhone 5 can not open photos sent via text

My iPhone 5 will no longer open photos sent via text message or iMessages. It just says loading and never actually loads. I have to save the photo to my camera roll in order to view it

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I would be concerned as well if I wasn't able to view the images that were sent to me in Messages. I found some steps that might help with this:
If you still can't send or receive MMS messages
To send and receive MMS messages on your iPhone, verify that your wireless carrier supports MMS2.
Ensure that MMS Messaging is turned on in Settings > Messages.
Verify that your phone is able to access cellular data.
Some carriers allow you to edit your APN (Access Point Name), which may prevent MMS from working.
If you are roaming outside your calling area, make sure you have Data Roaming turned on in Settings > General > Cellular to send or receive MMS content.
While on a phone call, you will be unable to send or receive MMS messages when using an EDGE, GPRS, or any CDMA cellular data network. After the phone call ends, you will receive any incoming messages. If you tried to send an MMS message, you may need to send it again.
If the issue persists and your wireless carrier has confirmed that your wireless account is provisioned2 for MMS, restore the iPhone.

when iphoto wouldnt open we read the trouble shooting info and it said that we may have needed to download 9.0.1 if we had an older version. We obviously didn't download it before the upgrade and wondered if it would cause problems or indeed solve the problem if we downloaded it now!

Exactly what did you do?
The correct steps are
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
My guess is that that you have not switched iphoto to use the external drive yet - opttion launch and select libary

This indicates a disconnect between the Thumbnail and the original
this can be caused by two things
1 - User action deleting items from inside the iPhoto library - can be directly - can be from the All images list (never delete from there) - can be from running cleanup software like MacKeeer, CleanMac2 or other dangerous, defective software that improperly deletes or changes things in the iPhoto library - if you have done any of these things you must restore your backup from before you did them and damaged your iPhoto library - and I recommend getting rid of any "clean up software" ASAP (although being essentially MalWear it is not easy)
2 - corruption of the iPhoto library - If it is not #1 then Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - repair permissions and then rebuild your database

I can't open my photos by clicking on them when using Iphoto although everything else seems to be working OK.
Any ideas??

Try resetting the PS CC preferences and check if it's an issue with corrupt preferences : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776
Try to open PS CC in Plugin Disabled mode and check the same. For that Press Shift+PS CC icon and hit Yes.

It says, "can't open your current version of iPhoto using this version of iPhoto. You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto". I don't think my old mac will support the newer version of iPhoto so I feel like I'm stuck (this is why I got a new mac -- cheaper than upgrading all my software, etc). Help! I really need to get to my old photos, and no, they are not backed up anywhere. Thanks.

You have two options:
Run the Library on a machine that has the same version as the machine that was stolen.
or
Recover the files from this library and start over from scratch.
To recover the files:
Go to your Pictures Folder (or whereever you have the back up) and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Your originals are in the Masters folder.
Note this will only recover your photos as imported from you camera.

I can't open Icloud Photos.

I can't open Icloud Photos. It says It is preparing my library but it won't open even after waiting for hours. My storage isn't full. I've tried different browsers and I have turned my computer on and off.

iCloud doesn't work that way.
You take images on your iOS 5.1 devices and Photo Stream "pushes" the images via Wi-Fi connection to your other devices and computers.
You take a picture using your iPhone and it is sent to your computer or other iOS 5.1 devices. You can't view the images online unless you use iOS 5.1 version of iPhoto ($4.99) to create "Journals". Journals are Web based viewing.

How do i get photos sent via email into the new photos app in yosemite 10.10.3

Using mail on my mac, having upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.3 i now cant import photos sent via email into the new photos app. if i highlight the photo in mail and right click the mouse the option is still to export to iPhoto !!

I was clicking on the photo, so thanks for telling me about the save icon - unfortunately this still tries to open up and save to iPhoto the same as clicking on the image but my photos have been moved from iPhoto to the new photos app as part of the update to 10.10.3 Yosemite. Although it also gives me the option to save other places i cant work out how to save into the photo app

The other part of the upgrade message was a warning that once you upgraded you would no longer be able to open the library with the old version which is exaclty what you did and what happened when you choose to continue
The iphoto library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library. Cancel or upgrade.
So now your choices are to not use iPhoto with the previous version using it onky with the newer version, restore your backup from before you did this upgrade or purchase iPhoto Library Manager and use it to rebuild the library using the older version of iPhoto (instructions are on their web site) thereby downgrading it (without projects)
