Can't print messages located in the bundle defined in faces-config.xml

In faces-config I have defined the following
<faces-config>
<application>
     <message-bundle id="appbundle">org.apache.struts.webapp.example.ApplicationResources</message-bundle>
               <locale-config>
               <default-locale>en</default-locale>
               <supported-locale>ja</supported-locale>
               <supported-locale>ru</supported-locale>
               </locale-config>
     </application>
</faces-config>
In my jsp I want to print one of the messages in that file keyed "index.login":
I am trying to do it:
<h:output_message key="index.logon"/>
DOESN't WORK ! I get an empty string on the page
<h:output_message key="index.logon" bundle="appbundle"/>

What do I do wrong ? (I don;t want to use the fmt:setbundle per page I want to be able to use this 'global' resourcebundle)

This looks like you're using EA4. Please upgrade to the beta, which has substantially changed the mechanisms for translations.

I've noticed that a component and a renderer can't share the same name in <face-config.xml>.
For instance,
<component>
<component-type>tree</component-type>
<component-class>com.xxx.tree.component.Tree</component-class>
</component>
<render-kit>
<renderer>
<renderer-type>tree</renderer-type>
<renderer-class>com.xxx.tree.renderer.Tree</renderer-class>
</renderer>
</render-kit>
generates a cryptic error message.
It's not a big deal but would be nice to support it.
The workaround of course is to use a different name for the component and renderer (tree and treeRenderer for instance)

i dont know why it doesn't work for you. It works for me alright. Can u elaborate on what error messages you are getting? It maybe some other problem.

Where is the printer head located on the MP600?

Where is the printer head located on the Canon MP600 and how do I remove it? I have had my printer for over 7 years with absolutely no problems! Then, yesterday, after I replaced an ink cartridge, it would not print at all -- keep getting the message "Wrong Printer Head - Replace Printer Head" - I removed all the cartridges and re-inserted them, but that did no good. One suggestion I found on-line said to remove the printer head and re-install it -- Where is it located???

To reseat the print head in the unit, please follow the steps located here. Once the print head is reseated, please turn off the printer, unplug the power cord and leave it out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn the printer back on. If you still receive the print head error, the printer will require servicing. Please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

I used to be able to print multiple copies of the same picture on one page using iphoto. There was a customise button when you went through to print and it was there somewhere. I can't see it anymore - maybe since an upgrade.
It's gone. But as a work-around, duplicate your photo (⌘D) to create as many versions as you want copies and select all at once. Then use the "Custom" print layout and set the photo size you want.
After printing, trash the added versions.

no - you simply have to select the option to print mucliples of a photo on a page
select the photo and go to the file menu ==> print - select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize - in the tool bar click on the settings icon (the gear looking thingy) and select "multiple of the same photo per page" and the preview will reflect this option showing a full page of the selected size photos

How can I print a pdf in the actual size with a page border? (2 pages per sheet preferred)
I usually print pdfs of books at a copy shop and they turn out fine.
The problem comes when I try to print the same books at home.
I use Adobe Acrobat X with the same settings: "multiple pages per sheet" (2x1) and page border. But the pages are slightly shrunken when printed. I think this is because my printer can't print as closely to the margins. Still, two pages should be able to fit on one sheet in actual size. Are there any layout settings that I can play with to find a better fit, besides portrait and landscape?
If I select page scaling "none," I'm able to print the pdf in actual size, one page per sheet. But there's no option to add a page border.

I have a test with some questions (multiple choice, FIB, matching, etc). I have just one button to submit all the answers, and after submiting the student can see his score and review the test to know where he failed. He can't answer again. However, he can change the answer multiple times before submiting.
"if i turn on success/failure captions the student will see them while answering" - before submitting
"if i turn them off he wont know what's the right answer" - after submitting
My results page is the default. I didn't use any variable. When i go to the results page after reviewing the test all the entry boxes are "wrong".

How to specify multiple message bundles in faces-config.xml

I have different properties file which I want to use as message bundle.
Message.properties
Help.properties
When I specify this in faces-config.xml
<application>
<message-bundle>/Message</message-bundle>
<message-bundle>/Help</message-bundle>
</application>
and now when I try to use that in my jsp page like this
<f:loadBundle basename="/Message" var="message"/>
<f:loadBundle basename="/Help" var="help"/>
and access any messagestring from those files I can not excess either of them. But when I use only one of them it works fine.
Am I doing something wrong or I can not do this thing at all??

I only specify one properties file in the <application> tag. That one is used for system messages. I have other properties files for labels, and another for just standard app text, so in my faces-config.xml I have something like this:
<application>
<message-bundle>message</message-bundle>
<locale-config>
<default-locale>en</default-locale>
</locale-config>
</application>
where my message.properties is used for system messages (validation, etc).
I don't list the other property files there. I have two more that I use, labels_en.properties, and standard_en.properties. Labels are words that have a : at the end or a *: for required fields. Standard are just other words that I use in my application. So on every page that I have, I start out with the following header:

<head>
<f:loadBundle basename="label" var="label"/>
<f:loadBundle basename="standard" var="standard"/>

I want to put several message bundle in faces-config.xml.
How can I do that?
I tried the following but it didn't worked

the system will get automatically the right file depending on the Locale object , so you do not have to mention each file in the faces-config.xml

the supported locale is used by JSF when readind the HTTP header and depending on the language, it will choose the right mesages bundle
The best way to process is to bind the locale property of the tag <f:view locale=#{Bean.locale}> and to change it dynamically (see class Locale in the sun API)

Faces-config.xml is the only configuration file or we can keep more

1) faces-config.xml is the only name specification allowed in JSF for configuration file or can we use another name for this configuration (like as struts) ?
2) can we have multiple configuration files in JSF like as struts contains multiple configuration files for navigation ?

* There's a possibility this will break a conditional complication test which disallows overwriting an existing definition -- I don't know if that will break the build, but the test should be removed either way.
* Using append syntax ("-define+=" on the command line or ant tasks, or append="true" in flex-config) and redefining a value works now if you use an already-defined namespace and name.
* So your flex-config may have -define=CONFIG::debug,false, and you may want -define+=CONFIG::debug,true from the commandline build, or FB build.
* Made the ASC ConfigVar fields final as a sanity check since overwriting is now allowed. It would be harder to track changes and subtle bugs if they were mutable. This means that you must build a new ConfigVar object if you need to make changes.

QA: Yes. Please read the updated javadocs in CompilerConfiguration. Tests need to be added to validate that overwriting is allowed, and happens correctly in different situations: I believe the order should be that flex-config is overwritten by a custom config (can we have more than one user config? is the order deterministic? I forget...), is overwritten by commandline or OEM. Did I miss any? (I didn't write code which changes this, it works however the existing configuration system allows overwriting and appending; if we have tests for that, maybe we don't need them duplicated for this feature.)
