Can't query, create table in WAS

hi everyone:
I encounted a problem when I query a table in WAS.
I find if I create a table by SAPDB console, then when I query that table in WAS. It always tells me "can't find that table". If I create and delpoy table by netweaver studio dictionary prospective, then I can query that table successfully in WAS. Anther thing is that I can't create a table by sql "create table..." in WAS. It always throws Exception likes below:
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: The SQL statement "CREATE TABLE "TEST2" ("C_NAME" VARCHAR(20) UNICODE DEFAULT ' ' )" contains the syntax error[s]: Open SQL syntax error: CREATE ... TABLE is not supported
SQL syntax error: "VARCHAR" is a reserved keyword and cannot be used as an unquoted identifier
I think maybe SAP WAS using open sql causes those Exception. Can someone tell me how to create a table in java program when I use open sql? Can I query tables which are not deployed by NetWeaver studio dictionary?
thanks
elliot

Hi,
Please take a look at the Java persistence documentation:

    Any idea or example given? If yes, can you provide a query here?

    Hi Eric
    In standard SAP Business One this is difficult as the reports are 2 dimensional. To achieve this you will need to write multiple select statements into a temporary table and then select the final result from the temp table. Here is a sample for you to test:
    USE [*DATABASE_NAME*]
    GO
    /****** Object:  StoredProcedure [dbo].[REPORT_NAME]    Script Date: 04/24/2009 13:17:21 ******/
    SET ANSI_NULLS ON
    GO
    SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
    GO
    CREATE proc [dbo].[*REPORT_NAME*]
    as
    set nocount on
    begin
    DECLARE @Day_no varchar(2)
    DECLARE @Month_no varchar(2)
    DECLARE @Year_no varchar(4)
    DECLARE @Start_Date Datetime
    SET @Day_no = DAY(GetDate())
    SET @Month_no = MONTH(GetDate())
    SET @Year_no = YEAR(GetDate())
    SET @Start_Date = @Year_No + '/' + @Month_no + '/' + @Day_no --  + '/' + @Year_No

    Go to Microsoft SQL Studio manager and select your company database. Then expand the list and select Programmability > Stored Procedures. Right click on Stored Procedures and select New Stored Procedure. Copy the above code over the code in the edit window and change the database name as well as report name. Then select Execute to create the stored procedure. If you make changes, remember to change the word CREATE to ALTER (with other words CREATE for the first execute, and ALTER thereafter). Then in SAP Business One create a new query and leave everything blank. Click on execute and select the pencil to change to edit mode. Remove the words SELECT and type in EXEC REPORT_NAME (change the REPORT_NAME to the name you used in SQL). Then execute again and the results will be displayed in SAP Business One.
    Let me know if you get stuck. Remember the above is an example and will need to be changed to use your tables and fields as required. The basic idea is to move across by one column with each select statement. So for example the first select statement does the CURRENT column, the second one the 30DAYS column, and so on.
    Kind regards

  • How can I query a table based on row numbers?

    select numberofmonths  from traveldays_president where row_number= 55;
    How can I go about filtering records based on row number?

    Use a query like
    select numberofmonths from traveldays_president where row_number=@rownumber
    Create a dataset with above query in SSRS and on refreshing it after execution SSRS will add field information and parameter information for you. Then when you try to run report it will ask you for value of rownumber and based on value you pass it will give
    you corresponding row(s) in output

  • Can you Easily Create Table/Spreadsheet in Acrobat XI Pro?

    I want to add table like this to Acrobat XI Pro Fillable Form.  Can it do it.  Am test driving this software and don't want to buy if it won't easily manage tables/spreadsheets that will easily add, delete, calculate, etc.

    Acrobat is not an editor, but a creator of PDFs. Minor edits are an option, but not easy to do.

  • Query plan changes when query is used in CREATE TABLE AS

    We've puzzled by the fact that EXPLAIN PLAN gives a much different output for a SELECT statement than it does when the same statement is used for CREATE TABLE . . . AS SELECT.
    The bad part is that the CREATE TABLE version performs very badly, and that's what we want the query for.
    Why does this happen? Is there a difference (from the database's point of view) between retrieving a set of rows to display to the user and putting that same set into a new table? Doesn't this make it harder to diagnose and fix query performance problems?
    Here's our query:
    create table query_test AS
    select term, parentTerm, apidb.tab_to_string(cast(collect(trim(to_char(internal)))
                       as apidb.varchartab), ', ') as internal

    Try this one if you're on oracle 8i or older
    create table source1 as
      select a.idx, a.source
        from tt a
       where not exists (select null from ttt b where a.idx = b.idx)

  • Wrong create table query in informix 11.50

    hello, toplink is generating the wrong query to create the table (google translate)
    example:
    database: informix 11.50 (Windows 32)
    @Entity
    public class User {
         @Id
         @GeneratedValue(strategy=IDENTITY)
         private Long id;
    Generated query:
    CREATE TABLE USUARIO (ID NUMERIC(19) SERIAL NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (ID))
    This is wrong. Informix does't support "NUMERIC(19) SERIAL" syntax.
    Thanks.

  • Basic question about querying georaster tables

    hello all
    i have a table with georaster column containing georeferenced images covering large area. can i query the table to get an image covering any user given cooordinates . the user given coordinates can span more than one image in the table. is this possible
    thanks

    Hi,
    Yes this is possible to operate with several GeoRaster images in one or several tables. But before this you should create specific GeoRaster metadata structure to join those separate images. You can find information about this procedure in GeoRaster documentation.

  • Create table of type integer

    How can we create a table of type integer in MDM. (what the code should be?)
    When I create a table, it only allows type Text.
    Thanks

    Hi R.N,
    we can create table of type Flat, Hierarachy, Taxanomy, Qualified Flat and Families.
    you are talking about field, by default whenever you create any table a field "Name" of type Text get generated, but here if you want this field to be integer, just create new field by right clickin "Add Field" by going into table in which you want that field. here you can give any name to that field and select type Integer . if you want only Integer field into your table then also make it "Display Field" only after that you can delete field "Name" of type Text.
    Note: For creating Table Click on your repository where you can see and create tables and for field just click on any table where you want to include that field into table
    Code takes important incase of Java APis and ABAP Apis. where APIs recognise table and fields with their code only.
    Remember to unload repository before creating Table and Fields and then load it.
    Hope it helps you,

  • ORA-00911 w/create table

    I'm trying to execute an SQL file with the following code:
    create table "t_ap_xml"
    "XML_ID" NUMBER,
    "XML_NAME" VARCHAR2(128),
    "XML_TYPE" VARCHAR(32),
    "XML_CONTENT" "SYS"."XML_TYPE",
    "XML_DESCRIPTION" VARCHAR2(4000)
    ..And i'm receiving the following error:
    ERROR at line 8:
    ORA-00911: invalid character
    It is pointing to the semicolon as the problem. If i remove the semicolon, it seems to work. But if I place that code in a DDL with other create table commands, it gives me a ORA-00922 error at the line with the next create statement. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I guess I should have been a bit more clear..
    I am using SQL*Plus, and GET-ing a text .sql file made in a text editor.
    It seems to work without the semicolon and only creating that single table. However, a problem occurs when trying to use multiple CREATE TABLE statements in the same sql file.
    So for example.. here is an excerpt:
    create table t_ap_xml
    create table another_table
    Generates the following error:
    ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
    ..That error occurs on the line in which the second CREATE TABLE statement was issued.
    Thanks for any help!

  • Can create view, but cannot create table / materialized view: Xpath is null

    Hi all,
    We recently moved some XML documents into the database in an XMLType column and want to query the data. I've been writing some queries and turning them into materialized views. I got to one query, and something really strange is happening. My query returns the expected results, but I am getting an error when I try to create a materialized view out of it. Even stranger, I can create a view out of it, and I can manually insert its data into an existing table, but I cannot create a materialized view out of it and I cannot create a table out of it. Here is a brief summary, please let me know if anyone has suggestions.
    Issuing the following commands fails in SQLDeveloper
    -- Creating a materialized view out of the query fails:
    create materialized view element REFRESH COMPLETE ON DEMAND as [query];
    Error at Command Line:1 Column:1 SQL Error: ORA-31063: XPath compilation failed: Xpath is null.
    -- Creating a table out of the query with the following shortcut fails:
    create table element as [query];
    Error at Command Line:1 Column:1 SQL Error: ORA-31063: XPath compilation failed: Xpath is null.
    Issuing the following commands in SQLDeveloper works fine:
    -- Creating a view out of the query works:
    create or replace view element as [query];
    -- Creating a blank table from the query and then inserting data works:
    create table element as select * from [query] where 1 = 2;
    insert into element select * from [query];
    Here is a simplified version of the query...
    I have changed the names around, and cut the query down so maybe it will be a little easier to understand. I did confirm that this query is also having the same symptoms described above. Since I changed the names, executing the query returns no results. However creating a materialized view out of the query still fails with the 'Xpath is null' error.
    create materialized view element REFRESH COMPLETE ON DEMAND as
    select
    m.resource_id,
    xml.*
    from metadata_sources m,
    xmltable(
    'for $i in /metadata/app//*[(self::elem1 or self::elem2) and (parent::form or parent::subform)]
    let $formName := if($i/parent::subform) then $i/../../@name else $i/../@name
    let $subformName := if($i/parent::subform) then $i/../@name else ""
    return <data
    appId="{$i/ancestor::app[1]/idField}"
    formName="{$formName}"
    subformName="{$subformName}"
    elemName="{$i/@name}"></data>' passing m.xml_content
    columns
    app_id NUMBER path '@appId',
    form_name VARCHAR2(50 char) path '@formName',
    subform_name VARCHAR2(50 char) path '@subformName',
    elem_name VARCHAR2(50 char) path '@elemName'
    ) xml;

    As far as creating a structured index, I was under the impression that I would need to then register an XSD. No, you can use it without an XML schema.
    How about a regular relational view, with an underlying xml index?
    That way you also eliminate the need for an explicit refresh step as you would then be querying real-time data, as if it were relational data.
    For example :
    Connected to:

  • How can I filter a table from Data Control without enter query

    I have a table from a web service data control based on WSDL.
    I want to filter the table without input query at filter text box. Without filter text box, each would filter the table with a hardcoded query internally.
    For example, when user click A menu button then it filters the table where type = '1' and B menu button filters the table by type='2' and C menu button filters the table by type=' ' .
    How can I filter the table without enter query?
    Could anyone point me to a solution please.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    when you created the table, did you try selecting the "filter" option. Select the table and go to the Property Inspctor. In the tool bar of the Property Inspector there is an icon to change the configuration. Its adding filter filter fields for the user to search in.
    Option 2: The data of the Web Service actually is held in the iterators. If you wanted to filter the WebService query, I would not use the WS DC but a JAX-WS proxy in a POJO to fetch the WS Data. Then have the Data Control created from the POJO. You could have a method exposed on the POJO that allows you to filter the internally held data

  • Query to find out the sessions trying to create table.

    Hi Folks,
    I wanted to know the sessions that are trying to create tables. I'm trying to use the query... but not getting the correct results...
    These are the three versions of queries i wrote..
    SELECT A.SID,A.USERNAME,A.SQL_ID,B.SQL_TEXT FROM V$SESSION A,V$SQLTEXT B
    WHERE A.STATUS='ACTIVE'
    AND A.SQL_ID=B.SQL_ID
    AND B.SQL_TEXT LIKE '%INSERT%' OR B.SQL_TEXT LIKE '%insert%'
    SELECT A.SID,A.USERNAME,A.SQL_ID,B.SQL_TEXT FROM V$SESSION A,V$SQLTEXT B
    WHERE A.SID IN (SELECT SID FROM V$SESSION WHERE STATUS='ACTIVE')
    AND A.SQL_ID=B.SQL_ID
    AND B.SQL_TEXT LIKE '%INSERT%' OR B.SQL_TEXT LIKE '%insert%'
    select sid, serial#, status, username, osuser,machine,sql_id from v$session
    where sql_id in (select sql_id from v$sqltext where SQL_TEXT like '%INSERT%'
    union
    select sql_id from v$sqltext where SQL_TEXT like '%insert%')
    But its not giving me the correct results. Can any one help me with a query to determine a way to catch the sessions trying to create tables.
    Thanks
    Karthik

    I'm not sure why this needs further explanation. A database is a conceptual and logical whole, it is not a dumpground. Databases are designed prior to their creation, after their creation only the content of the database change, not the database itself.
    Having end-users creating tables on the fly means you have no control over the database and also no control over it's integrity and consistency.
    Basically this means your database has been converted into a garbage dump.
    End-users creating tables on the fly is a big nono in my book, and whoever develops an application creating tables on the fly should be shown to the door of unemployment.
    You would either set up audit and issue audit table as explained before, or revoke the create table privilege from all end-users. Personally I prefer the last approach, and I wouldn't even consider the former.
