Can't recieve mail within company's buildings

I can't get new mail everytime I'm at work but do get it when I check at home via the MAIL Software. I do get new mail when I check through Safari>Mac.com, at work.
Thanks for any help with this

How are you connected when at work - via an Ethernet or Wireless connection?
Do you have a business email account provided by your employer that you access with the Mail.app and if so, are you able to receive and send messages with this account when at work?
If yes, it is possible your employer is blocking access to personal email accounts with any email client such as the Mail.app or blocking access to certain ports when connected to their network to prevent the same.

  • Can't recieve mail

I have several mailboxes. One woun't recieve mail, the others work fine.
The one just stays gray. I can sent mail from it, but not recieve. My password and everything is the right one.
How can I also recieve mail on this one account?

I have tried the Connection Doctor and the connection is fine. There is connection and I am logged in.
This is a new mailaccount. The password and loggin I recieved are correctly in the account. The other accounts I have are fine.
This new account has messages on the server (I can see that) but these messages won't come into the inbox. The account stays gray on the left side of mail, the other accounts are normal black.
    Is this enough info?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • SMTP Connection Refused error...can't recieve mail

I'm getting close to getting my mail server set up. Users are able to send out mail and check via Webmail, but I cannot send mail. Under the server logs, I see this:
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtpd[18576]: connect from localhost[127.0.0.1]
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtpd[18576]: 4670028450: client=localhost[127.0.0.1]
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/cleanup[18571]: 4670028450: message-id=<[email protected]>
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/qmgr[18540]: 4670028450: from=<[email protected]>, size=1254, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtp[18560]: connect to mail.cdc10.com[130.73.245.35]: Connection refused (port 25)
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtpd[18576]: disconnect from localhost[127.0.0.1]
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtp[18560]: 4670028450: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=0, status=deferred (connect to mail.cdc10.com[130.73.245.35]: Connection refused)
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtp[18572]: D31CF2842B: to=<[email protected]>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1], delay=9, status=sent (250 2.6.0 Ok, id=00844-06, from MTA: 250 Ok: queued as 4670028450)
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/qmgr[18540]: D31CF2842B: removed
The message then shows up in the Queue and won't leave. I can send mail to other people, but my users cannot receive from outside or internal addresses. My firewall is completely off for this, and our main router definitely has port 25 open for both TCP and UDP. Any ideas?

Well, the problem can be traced to the line:
    Oct 31 23:51:36 MailServer postfix/smtp[18560]: 4670028450: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=0, status=deferred (connect to mail.cdc10.com[130.73.245.35]: Connection refused)
This is telling you that Postfix tried to connect to 'mail.cdc10.com' 130.73.245.35 but the connection was refused.
Is that what you expect the IP address of your mail server to be? If so, that's a public address which implies you're not on a NAT network. If you are on a NAT network then you may need to check firewall and/or port forwarding settings to make sure that port 25 connections to that IP are getting forwarded to your machine.
The other thing that is apparent from your log is that your mail server doesn't think it's authoritative for cdc10.com email - that is, even if the connection was accepted, the mail server doesn't think it's for itself and will either reject it or try to forward it.
If you want/expect this machine to accept mail for cdc10.com then you need to add that domain name to the list of domains that postfix should accept mail for. You can do this either via Server Admin or by editing the 'mydestination' parameter in /etc/postfix/main.cf

  • HT3748 for some reason i can not send mail only receive it on hotmail

For some unknown reason i can only recieve mail and not send it on hotmail, it has worked perfectly before.

    my servers are offline
Orange has a Problem, not you.
    Mail >Window > Connection Doctor ...
... it will probably show that your email sender and email receiver are both unreachable. If it ever worked before, this is probably not YOUR problem.
Try their WebMail (Use a Web Browser to surf to their Web address and try to pick up your mail from there.)
At this writing, EarthLink in the US is down for a large group of Users in New York and New England area.

  • I can't recieve forwarded e-mails, i see who forwared it and who it was forwarded to, but i get no content except  a header saying forward message follows and then nothing

I can't recieve forwarded e-mails, i see who forwarded it and who it was forwarded to but no content. Just in the body it says forwarded message as follows and the nothing. Sometimes it will give some numbers such as    R:95.9108
                                                                                             P:95.9108 M:97.0282 C:986951  )

No problem at all using gmail. The only reason that I asked was because I did "Google" the issue and gmail came up in the search a couple ot times and I thought that I had seen this issue on the discussion site before and gmail came to mind. Personally, I love Google. I would be lost without it, but I digress.
I was just going to suggest that you may have better success looking for answers on the gmail for iOS devices help site or on the gmail general help site. I don't have gmail so I really know nothing about it and the suggestion that I made in my first post is merely a standard troubleshooting step that helps solve many minor issues on the iPad.

    Hi,
Are you connected to a strong Wi-fi signal?  Try resetting your iPod:  Press/hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    Hope this helps!

    iPad Mail

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Can recieve mail but i cant send it

i have aol and my college mail set up and synced together perfectly. i can recieve mail for both and i am very happy with it. the only problem is that i can not send mail. when i do it says INCORRECT DOMAIN IN MAIL/RCPT COMMAND. im not exactly sure what i have to set up for the mai preferences. i've tried placing authentication to none and on password but nothing works. i would appreciate any help.
    thanks

Well, I don't think you're going to be able to solve this problem if you don't know what the outgoing server settings should be, and in the case of your college account, there is no way for me to know either.
Instructions for setting up an AOL account in Mail can be found here:
    http://members.aol.com/adamkb/aol/mailfaq/imap/applemail.html
The instructions are for Mail 1.3, but they can be used for Mail 2.x as well, noting that the Special Mailboxes preference pane is called Mailbox Behaviors in Mail 2.x.
You may also want to read the more general guide the above article is part of:
Accessing the AOL Mail System using IMAP - An Unofficial Guide
You may also want to open Mail Help and read the articles about sending problems, e.g. I can't send email.

  • Server Times Out (Can't recieve or send mail)

I know this question has probably been asked before, but there is always an error message by my inbox saying that the server at "www.myway.com" on port 110 has timed out. I do not have a .Mac account. I cannot send or recieve mail and don't know what to do since all similar topics I have found involve .Mac accounts. Thanks for your help!

I also have a brand new DROID MAXX and all of a sudden (the last week or so) I cannot receive any pictures embedded in text (MM?) messages from Apple iPhone users. Any ideas?  Very frustrating, happens when not connected to WiFi (regular cell connection) as well as on WiFi. No error messages, only  a big square graphic with an arrow in it like the phone thinks it's a video or something. Click on the graphic and nothing happens, can only see text. Happens in zip code 12545 , 12533 and any others I have been in 05454, 05444 in the last 2 weeks.  <-- tried to Edit the post and the system would not let me. Says I was signed out, even though I was signed in.
