Can't restore repository backup

Hi all !!
It's a Nightmare... I made a backup with RAU last week. We had some trouble with our repository, and after fix it, I tried to restore it with RAU. Import begins but It hangs after some time. Import never ends and users can't connect to the repository. I'm using Designer 6i Rel 4.8, Oracle 8.1.7 and Repository rel. 4.0.12.93.10. It had version support enabled. What Can I do ? Must Install Designer rel. 4.10 ?
Please help !!

This looks like you should contact Support who will be able to discuss your case with you in detail. Installing the latest release may not solve your problem, without having a great deal of information, I would suggest you re-establish the repository before you consider the upgrade.
Regards
Sue

  • How can i restore old backup without deleting my existing data

how can i restore old backup without deleting my existing data. unfortunately i have deleted few of my old photos and restored them from my old backup. i got the deleted photos but lost my recent data and photos. how can i get those too.

You cannot. However, if your back up is through iTunes on your computer and you do an internet search for something like "iPhone BackUpExtractor", I believe there is software that will help you access the SQL database that is your back up. You may be able to pull out what you need.
Once you restore from a back up, any data that was on the phone is gone.

My iPhone has crashed during a sync and now I can't restore from backup as it is asking for password to load the backup yet neither the lock code for the phone or my iTunes Password are working... I have no other password to call upon and need the restore to retrieve info onto my phone, I am a real novice to this...... please help, !!!!

If anyone else is looking for a solution to this same problem, I was able to get it working looking through several older discussions.
The solution was to use the password that I had on my iTunes account the very first time I set up the iPhone about a year ago.  I changed my iTunes password about 10 months ago;  but apparently, the backups continue to use the password that existed when the phone was first set up.
A couple of troubling things with this are that 1) I didn't apply a password when I did the backup this afternoon so I don't understand why it was required when I did the restore a few hours later. and 2) it makes zero sense why iTunes would not be smart enough to use the current accout password when requiring the password to restore from a backup made with no password.
I thought iTunes and Apple were smarter than that.  With so many posts stating exactly the same problem, it is clear that this is bug in the software.
    Best,
    Craig

Hi, you can use third party software to help you restore from your backups, eg, AOMEI Dater Backups, acronis true image, easeus todo backup, etc.   http://www.aomeitech.com/features/partition-volume-restore.html

  • Just reinstalled Windows, Can't restore iTunes backup

I just reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer, and after installing the latest version of iTunes available from Apple, I can't restore any backup I made prior to the reinstall, with iTunes giving me error code -69.
I've tried reinstalling iTunes, but no dice so far. Should I be trying to do anything else to get this working?

  • Can I restore a backup of an iphone5 from different carrier?

Started off with an iPhone5 on Sprint - long story short it got returned due to numerous data issues and I wasn't going to wait past my 14 day return to see if it gets better.  I'm in the process of switching over to Verizon (as soon as they get more iP5's), but I'm curious if I can safely restore my backup from the Sprint phone to the Verizon phone without 'crossing the streams' and somehow pushing down the Sprint config.
Just looking to build some confidence that I will NOT screw something up royally with this approach.
    Thx!

Yes. The carrier you use doesn't matter.

  • Can I restore a backup (on a time capsule) from a macbook to a macbook air?

can I restore a backup (on a time capsule) from a macbook to a macbook air?

I've never personally done this, but I'm qute sure you can.  After all, this would be one method of migrating from the MacBook to the MacBook Air (with the assistance of Migration Assistant).

  • "You can't restore this backup because it was created by a different model"

I've been using TM from my Mac Mini to Macbook extensively due to my remote locations and due to the fact that i am always on the run and need to have same apps in both computers. Now after having no probs and fully satisfied with my apple products i stumbled into this: "You can't restore this backup because it was created by a different model of mac". Can someone explain me how on earth did this happen after all these times?? Any suggestions? What are my alternatives?
I tried the superduper image but image of my Mac Mini contains different system info from the Macbook componenets i guess, since they use different installation discs. In the end of the day i guess i will have to use the install dvd and then the migration assistant, but why did TM Restore failed me so much?

I can only assume you tried restoring an entire system thus causing the error to avoid installing a Mini system on the MacBook or vice-versa. Transferring an application shouldn't bee a problem, but restoring the entire OS would be.
It isn't clear exactly what you need to do, but my assessment is that you should be using a different utility such as one of the following:
    Backup Software Recommendations
    Backuplist
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    iBackup
    JaBack

    Super Flexible File Synchronizer
    SuperDuper!
    Synchronize Pro! X
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
