Can't solve problem in IE 6

I'm new to web design so sorry for the question. This website
is working fine in most browsers exept fot IE 6. In the "meet the
author" page for example, my client says (don't have IE 6 to test
it) that at the bottom is getting a white space on the right bottom
of the page www.mindyourbodybook.com/author.author.html I've been
trying many things but nothing seems to fix the problem. I just
added code to detect a different version of IE 7 and suggest the
user to upgrade to make the client happy but I woul really like to
solve the problem. I think somehow the container div is not
displaying the background properties correctly. Any suggestions?

Nice job, but your client is right. Not only do you have
white in the
right cell, but the background gradient does not extend all
the way to
the right (1024 x 768). You probably need repeat-x in the
css.
Next, make the background color for the cell the blue and you
should
be golden.
I suggest Microsoft Virtual PC with XP, then you can test in
IE6.

Airport, Leopard, Imac 20" - Apple can't solve problem

My 20" IMAC (last model before video card change) has the infamous airport issue where is won't reconnect after sleep and it drops signal whenever. Leopard v10.5.8, all updated.
Here is what I have on my network in addition to the IMAC:
Linksys WRT54G v2.2 - never had a problem - using only Mac Filtering
3 ReplayTVs wired to router
2 Powerbooks with Tiger, never had problem
1 MacBook, latest white model before video card change, with same Leopard version
I do not have any other 2.4 devices running anywhere. The router is closest to the IMAC in the central location of the house.
None of the other Macs have an issue, so it probably isn't the router. As well, if I am on WinXP on the bootcamp partition, I do not have a problem, so it may not be hardware.
I have had multiple calls to Apple support who has given me all sorts of possible solutions, including new user, new location, deleting prefs/settings. Nothing that they have given me makes a difference.
PleaseSleep helps with the awake from sleep issue, as I suspect that the Mac doesn't not sleep completely when going to sleep automatically (without PS, the IMAC does better after manual sleep, but still has the problem).
The random fall outs have been happening more often since I have been trying to solve the sleep issue. I have no peripherals other than a UPS (wired mouse makes no difference).
I have also tried a neighbor's wireless and have identical problems, so again, I don't think it is my router.
If I click on the Airport icon, it scans and sees my network, but does not automatically connect (and all the settings are correct, I have tried all the deleting and reconnecting fixes, as well as different users and different locations).
If I go to network prefs, it sometimes reconnects, sometimes does not. But I also noticed that sometimes if I choose my network, it self assigns an IP instead of asking the router.
If I plug in the ethernet (which does not have any issues), it seems to drop more frequently, even if the settings are set to Airport first in the order (which shouldn't make a difference with Ethernet since it becomes dominant).
There is almost nothing that I haven't tried. I believe it is bad drivers/software in Leopard since the XP side doesn't have this issue with the same airport card. Anyone have any other suggestions that aren't the common ones that can be found on the internet (meaning I have tried them already)?

If you select the option to preserve users and network preferences, an Archive and Install isn't such a problem.
However, my suggestion would be to Install on a freshly erased external hard drive using your original discs that came with the computer. Operate with that plain system long enough to determine if the problem no longer exists. I would then update that system to the last system version you used where you did not experience the wireless problem.
At this point you can then try an Archive and Install on your main drive then return to the working version using the appropriate Combo Updater. Just be sure to select the option to preserve users and network settings.
Beyond this I have no other options for you given you say you've tried everything else. You could take it to an Apple service center to determine if there is a valid hardware issue that can be fixed. Even marginal RAM could cause such a problem but would be difficult to track down because RAM tests may not reveal a problem.

Geniuses can't solve problem need master genius

My imac is in the Apple store now with sleep problems. I had lightning issues and had to replace the logic board, but that only fixed the ethernet, not the sleep problems.. Second trip to store, the Genius and i decided I should do system restore and if that doesn't work, complete clean. I took it home, and everything was fine after I did a complete clean and restore. However, two days later, I installed the printer driver and printed something and 5 seconds later the computer went to sleep again without warning and couldn't wake it. I thought it must be the printer or Safari. I cleaned and restored again and left all my stuff out(music, videos,etc.). It worked like new. Added my music and all was fine. Added I-life apps and updated. This is when Safari went to 6.0. Everything was fine. Next day, it won't wake up again unless I safe start. Took it to Apple again. They now think it might be the display,but why did it work fine for a while. I think it is Safari because my problems started after I first updated and recieved Safari 6. Any ideas please let me know.

This is one of those situations where you're going to be the Genius. There are several reasons why your machine has sleep problems, but this will put you on the right path:

In the case it's a browser problem, temporarily switch to a different browser, like Firefox, and see if that helps.

Can't solve problem with AccessControlException:access denied

i am trying to develop an applet. a button is place to open file from the local system. before i have done this, the applet work perfectly fine, and after i have written a class for file reader and some methods in the applet class, it doesn't function probably. when the applet is being loaded, an error message say java.security.AccessControlException:access denied. i am not sure whether it is because i have tried to pass the class itself into other class as mark with **** below.

Go to the MSDOS command prompt.
Type in policytool.exe.
This will bring up the .java.policy file.
If not recognized do a search for policytool.exe.
Backup your .java.policy file first.
Edit the .java.policy file or credit a new one for your application.

It's a Qosmio X300-16M (windows 7 64bit)
I downloaded the last toshiba's sound driver (for win 7 64bit), but it's as if it doesn't contain MaxxAudio anymore... (but the file maxxaudio.dll is still in realtek directory)
It worked correctly after Windows 7 update, (that's why I tried to reinstall the audio drivers which were in the DVD... but it does not have resolved the problem.)
And all my system restore's points have been lost after a wrong bios update or something else (but this isn't a problem anymore)
Now, my computer works correctly, my only problem is that the MaxxAudio tab (from Waves Audio) in the realtek audio manager disappeared... (It just makes a better sound...)
And I just want to know if it's a curent problem or not... and if someone can fix it

Reboot the machine holding Command and r keys down, you'll boot into Lion Recovery Partition
In there will be Disk Utility, use that to select your Lion OS X Partition and Repair Permissions.
After that is done reboot the machine and see if you can log in.
If not repeat the above steps to get into Lion Recovery, get online and reinstall Lion again, it will overwrite the installed version and hopefully after that it wil work.
Reboot and try again.
If not follow my steps to create a Snow Leopard Data Recovery drive, then option boot from it and grab a copy of your files off the machine.
Then reinstall all your programs onto the external drive like setting up a new machine, then use Disk Utility to erase the entire internal boot drive (select the drive media on the far left, not the partiton slightly indented) format Option: GUID , 1 partition OS X Extended and then use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the external to the newly formatted internal drive. Once that is finished reboot and disconnect the external drive.
Once you go that, boot into Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.8, use the AppStore and option click on Purchases and download Lion again and install.
Lots of work, but there is no Lion disks.

We did that, but it just doesn't seem to be able to connect. So basically we tried to connect to our network and insert the password, but afterwards it does nothing. Weird thing is also that the network symbol (top right of the screen) says that it has been connected, but when I go look at the system preferences --> network, it states that it has not been connected

I'm not sure I understand the question, is the message tone going more then once?
Turn off repeat message alert here:
settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert > never
Some people have found this does not stop the repeat miessage tone,
if you are one of those then I suggest you contact Apple:

If your iPhone is restarting unexpectedly after updating the iOS software, start with step 5 in this troubleshooting guide:

1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you use MobileMe/ iCloud or another server based sync solution like Google or Yahoo?
4. Do other changes to synced information like Address Book content sync successfully back and forth?
Based on your description it sounds like you have a 1 way sync issue. Events sync fine between the iOS devices and fine from the computer to the iOS devices but not from the iOS devices to the computer.
Try:

The Game Center app is pre installed and cannot be removed from the device.
Best thing to do is move it to the last available screen.
Hold down the Game Center app until all the apps jiggle then sliide the Game Center app to the right from one screen to the next. This requires a bit of finesse, but it's doable.
Press the Home button one time to stop the apps from jiggling.
For the Apple ID issue, try resetting.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then try your Apple ID and password for the Game Center app.
