    Show us the output of
emctl status dbconsoleMost of the times, EM stops with DGCP being enabled on the system after the db's creation. I faced alot of it just 2 days ago when 2 of my boxes stopped EM. So show us the output of the above command and to have an idea of basic EM troubleshooting, read this,

  • Starting Oracle Enterprise Management Console

I have oracle11gR2 database instance up and running on RHEL and i am able to connect to this instance using sqldeveloper. I need to have access to enterprise manager console too.
I tried to start enterprise manager using following command
    [ora112@localhost ~]$ emctl start dbconsole
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
then it tells me that ORACLE_UNQNAME is not defined.
the i set ORACLE_UNQNAME=JIP (JIP=ORACLE_SID), even after doing this , i get the same message when i try to start enterprise manager console.
could anybody help me resolve this issue
thanks in advance for any help

Unset ORACLE_SID (i.e. only set ORACLE_UNQNAME instead of ORACLE_SID), then try again. Pl also post the output of command "env | sort" just before issuing the emctl command

  • Can't start Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control:

I've install AS 10g 10.1.2 on x64 Win XP64 with the option of just Oracle J2EE and web services.
Everything installed fine but when I try to connect to the Enterprise manger server control I get :
IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect
Reading the trouble shooting guide I see that maybe the Apache variable max connections needs upping. Mine was set to 150 and I upped it to 200 (and restarted)
    still not joy.
    can anyone help?

According to metalink certification there is an issue with Win XP 64 bit for OAS 10.1.2.0.2 which is that
Only Installation Types Supported is J2EE OracleAS Developer Kit
Maybe you could consider OAS version 10.1.3.x ?

  • Enterprise Manager Console (Version 9.0.1.0.0) Not Starting on Win 2000 Pro

I have recently installed the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console (Version 9.0.1.0.0) successfully, however when I click on the icon to start it, no dialog opens up!!! I have also tried manually starting the Enterprise Manager Console by typing C:\Oracle\OUIHome\bin\oemapp.bat console, but again no dialog opens up!!!
In investigating to why this is occurring I have reviewed the NT event logs where no relevant information was found, and also the directory C:\Oracle\OUIHome\sysman\log; but no files were found!
I have reviewed the Oracle Enterprise Manager Readme Release 9.0.1 Production for Win32, but this was of no use!
In the Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Guide Release 9.0.1 it discusses what to do if the Management Server does not start, however as said above no log files were found to exist! It also discusses changing a oemctl script, however I cannot find the oemctl script!!!
Any help to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Note that I have tried un-installing and re-installing.
    Thanks in advance.

Have un-installed and then installed again but the problem still exists!!! Can any one help?

  • Enterprise Manager Console does not start

    Hi,
I'm running a Windows 2000 PC with Oracle 9i Server on it.
When I want to start the Enterprise Management Console
(Start => Program...) there is only a short reaction on
the Taskbar end when absolute nothing.
I know this problem was already mentioned once here (OEM Console does not start but
the answer there wasn't the right one for my problem.
I could not change the oracle home directory with the ORACLE-HOME-Selector, because I have only one home directory (D:\Programme\oracle\ora92)
    My Path variable:
    D:\Programme\oracle\ora92\bin;C:\Programme\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin;C:\Programme\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin;C:\WINNT\MS\SMS\CORE\BIN;D:\Programme\Clementine7.2\BIN;C:\WINNT\system32;C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem;D:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN;D:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\FUNCTION;D:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\SAMPLES\REPL;D:\Programme\IBM\DB2Extenders\bin;C:\Programme\Java\j2re1.4.2_02\bin
And here is my oemapp.bat(It is located in D:\Programme\oracle\ora92\bin. I have already startet it manually with "oemapp.bat console" but there was only the reply ""The input line is too long.
The syntax of the command is incorrect."

Is your machine connected to a Novell network? If so, edit the oemapp.bat file and change every reference of Windows_NT to WINNT. The issue is Novell does not set the Windows_NT variable, and uses the WINNT variable instead.

  • Enterprise Manager Console

    Hello,
I'm reading documentation about Oracle10g, and I am a little bit confused. I have understood that it hasn't the Enterprise Manager Console and that the Administration task has to be executed from the OEM Grid Control (or OEM Database Control). But now, reading the "Advanced Replication 10g Release 2" (B14226-01) doc, in the 7th chapter it explains the Replication Management Tool in Oracle Enterprise Manager Console. So the question is: can I install the Enterprise Manager Console in the clients, if I have Oracle10g (10.2.0.1) in the server?
I would really appreciate any answer, because although I have tried using the Grid Control, I can't. I'm sorry but the Console GUI is much better for me.
    Thanks in advance. Regards,
    Aran

I take it you are looking for the old-style, java-based standalone EM Console. It is still around, but probably on it's way out.
You install it from the 10.2 Client media, which you can download from here.

  • Execute Enterprise Manager Console

I am running my Oracle 9.2 on Linux Red Hat 8.0. I would like to know how can I execute the Enterprise Manager Console without having to launch a terminal and type in "oemapp console"??
Is that anyway to launch the Enterprise Manager Console GUI??
    Thanks!

You can create a "shortcut", gnome calls them launchers, on the desktop.
Right click an empty space on the desktop, then select New Launcher from the context menu. Fill in the blanks. Now, all you need to do is click the launcer.

  • Enterprise Manager Console does not start on Win 2000 Pro

I have installed Oracle 9i Release 2 Enterprise Manager on Win 2000 Professional. But the Enterprise Manager console does not start. Also the EM Configuration Assistant does not start.
I have installed many times, but it is never successfull.
I was installing Enterprise Edition -> General Purpose database.
Tried the following from command prompt:
    oemapp.bat I get this message : "Usage: oemapp <application_name>"
oemapp consoleI get : "bad command or file name"
oemapp console oem.loginmode=standaloneI get : "bad command or file name"
Is there any post installation configurations that need to be done?
When I read thru the oemapp.bat, "Usage: oemapp <application_name>" was under the jreSetup module.
    Under C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre I have the folders with following Names(versions) 1.1.8 and 1.3.1.
    In the environment variable also I have C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin and C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin
Could some one help me with this.

  • Oracle Database 11gR1 Enterprise Manager Console Cannot Display in Browser

    Folks,
Hello. I am running Oracle Database 11gR1 with Operaing System Oracle Linux 5. I have some issues regarding EM connects with the Database Server as below:
First, the default listener is LISTENER with standard port number 1521 and protocol TCP/IP.
Its corresponding service naming S1 is with port 1521 and protocol TCP/IP and hostname localhost.localdomain.
I run this listener in the following way:
Step 1: [user@localhost bin]./lsnrctl start LISTENER (This command runs sucessfully.)
Step 2: [user@localhost bin] ./sqlplus SYS/SYS as sysdba (This command starts sqlplus sucessfully.)
Step 3: [user@localhost sqldeveloper] ./sqldeveloper.sh (This command invokes SQL Developer sucessfully.)
But when start Enterprise Manager Console, it cannot connect with the Database. I do it in this way:
    [user@localhost bin] ./emctl start dbconsole
    The above command's output is:
    https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em/console/aboutApplication
Starting Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control ... ...
When open the link https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em/console/aboutApplication in browser, this message comes up:
The connection to localhost.localdomain: 1158 cannot be established.
Thus, I add Port Number 1158 into both LISTENER and Service Naming S1. I run ./emctl start dbconsole again and get this message:
The connection to localhost.localdomain:1158 was interrupted while the page was loading.
In order to solve the above issue, I create another listener LISTENER2 and another Service Naming S2 with Port Number 1158 and protocol TCP/IP because
in my point of view, each listener only can have one Port Number(1521 or 1158) and its corresponding Service Naming (S1 or S2) need to have the same Port Number and Protocol (TCP/IP).
But when I run [user@localhost bin]./lsnrctl start LISTENER2, this message comes up: the listener supports no service.
From the message, it seems that LISTENER2 cannot work with its corresponding Service Naming S2 with Port 1158.
EM with Port 1158 cannot display in Browser.
    My questions are :
First, Is there any relationship needed to be established between listener(LISTENER2) and Service Naming(S2) in order to display EM in Browser ?
Second, how do folks display EM in browser ?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying. I do the following command: [user@localhost bin]$ wget http://localhost.localdomain:1158/em
    The command returns the message:

  • Stopping the Enterprise Manager Console (Oracle 10g on SuSE 9.1)

I'm trying to stop the Enterprise Manager Console by issuing the command:

Unfortunately, the command fails to stop the EM Console. Here's the output I get:

    failed.
The only way I can stop the EM Console (and related services--i.e., emagent) is to kill its process.
Everything (Listener, DB Instance, EM Console) starts fine. I can stop the Listener and DB Instance without any problems. It's just the EM Console shutdown that doesn't happen cleanly.
