Can't Sync Music on ATV/Tab Not Showing
I'm hoping someone here might have experienced this same problem and can offer some help. I just bought Apple TV a week ago, but have been unable to sync my music. When I click on Apple TV in my device list, and then Auto Sync under the Summary tab, I see the other tabs for Movies and Photos, but not for Music. If I proceed with syncing at this point, my video files will sync with the ATV, but not music.
If I choose Custom Sync, I'll see the music tab, but when I go to that tab and then try to sync any part of my music, it doesn't work. Sometimes it will start to sync for a few seconds, then stop. Other times the sync button won't highlight, preventing me from trying at all.
I don't think this is any kind of network issue, as I've successfully synced video. It just seems that for some reason, the AppleTV isn't reading or seeing the music in my iTunes. Has anyone had any kind of similar issue?
make sure all the music you want to sync is check marked in itunes to do that, go to itunes, click music, edit, select all, right click, choose check all. if you only want some of your music to sync, create a new playlist with only that music you want and unclick everything but that particular playlist.

I can't sync music already on my computer to my ipod touch; the ipod shows up under Devices in itunes but does not show buttons (Summary etc.) when I click on it. I've read through all the Help tutorials but none of them say what to do if the sync options don't pop up when you highlight the device. I've already spent way too much time trying to figure this out and it's driving me crazy! Thanks for any help you can offer.
This is correct. It will not show in finder. It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases -
I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. Can't sync music from iTunes 11 to iPhone 4 since getting iOS 6.1

Basically, plugged in my phone to put a new cd on, and as it started I noticed the 'other' bar was huge and iTunes was saying my phone was 6gb over capacity and was still trying to sync apps I'd deleted a month before, so stopped the process thinking it was damaging my phone.
I then, thinking the phone had backed up, deleted all pictures to make some space and tried to sync again. The same happened.
Next I decided to update the iOS to 6.1 and try again. This is when I started not being able to syncs anything. Music, film, photos, tv shows, nothing.
The sync will start and the phone capacity bar shows will show how much space will be taken up and the sync skips to the end and nothing has been synced. In iTunes in the music view under devices on tje left the files are greyed out with the sync in progress icon next to them.
I have also got a 'connection has been list to the iPhone' error message which I really don't understand as they are connected via USB and the phone is still mounted in iTunes.
Since then I have tried every different connotation of settings through iTunes to no avail. I've backup and restored, I've restored to a new phone but with no results at all.
I have read 20 or discussions on The Apple forums and it seems that loads of slightly different solutions have worked for lots of different people and I also know many people are completely unaffected by this, but I use my phone more as an iPod than phone.
It's proper frustrating, especially when Apple release a software update for iPhone 4S users but not iPhone 4 owners.
Oh and today it also seemed to be flakey in terms 3G connections.
Oh and since Christmas I haven't been able to use home sharing as it won't finish connecting, it just stops!Everything is Sorted!
The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you. -
how can i sync music from my phone onto my new computer without losing it all? my old computer's hard drive crashed so it is unusable.
If you do not have a back up of the crashed hard drive you can download an app to copy from the iPhone to iTunes on the new hard drive.
I have used Pod2Mac. There is also Pod2PC.

Can't sync music on my iPhone 3.0
I have an original 8GB iPhone.. and since I updated it I haven't been able to sync my music, I can sync anything but the music, includding apps and photos, but when I try to sync the music, it gets synced but when it's finished syncing it appears a message saying that there was an unknown error and it can't be synced, and it appears in iTunes that my music is in the iPhone.. but it isn't!
This error just appears when I try to sync music, and it's not a Playlist because I already tried diferent playlists and it's still not working, and this started happening since I updated my iPhone

Try syncing music manually. The choice is on the first screen of syncing. If you select this box, iTunes expect you to drag your music from the music library onto the iphone and it will sync right then.
In other words, if you connect your phone, select "Manually manage music and videos ", then you can start dragging music from the library to the phone. Each playlist or group of songs you drag will sync immediately. This should help you determine if it is something in the music that does not sync
AND manual syncing of music applies to ringtones, videos, rented movies and tv shows. I"m not saying its easier or more fun, just another way to sync that might help. -

Can't sync music on the ovi suite to my 5800 but can sync contacts email and picture...Similar issue faced by me as well.. not all the tracks was transferred on the first sync.. so I manually copied them to device. But tried the second time, this time I deleted all the songs in device and transferred using Ovi suite, surprisingly it worked this time

I have an iPhone 5 and I have authorized 2 laptops to sync with it.
The problem is I can only sync apps I have downloaded from one laptop while music from the other laptop. I can't sync music and apps to my iPhone from the same laptop.
How do I solve this?
Note: The first laptop I synced with is also shared with my wife's iPhone 4.
Thanks in advance.you can only really sync your phone with one device, well strictly not true but its the better practice.
first point, be careful here.
second, plug your iPhone into the first machine and check the settings related to synchronising with 'that' machine.
then do the same with the second.
you will find that one is setup to sync apps and the other to sync music. I'd recommend that you go to the one that has your music stored on it, get it to download all of your apps and use this machine as your main machine from now on.
Using two seperate machines must be confusing and could lead to you suddenly loosing all of you data if you sync completely with one machine that does contain everything you want! -

iTunes will only sync with Apple devices. You may find when you plug in your player it appears on hte desktop as another drive. You can drag files from iTunes to that drive. You may need to then place them in a special folder but all this is something for you to research since players differ. We use a Sansa Clip and a RCA player with our iTunes library and that how we do it.
Make sure your player can play the format files you have in your collection. Our slightly older players will not play AAC which is the standard format used by the iTunes Store. If you find that to be the case you will have to convert formats. -

I've a newly purchased iPad Retina. Unfortunately I can't sync music from my Windows PC to iPad. I tried with the best practice, muisc appears with a cloud circle at the left most column in the device shown in the iTune. I'm puzzled as I'm an user of iPod and have never faced such problem earlier.
The cloud symbol means your music is in the cloud-not on the PC.

Im using a MacBook Pro 2GHz Intel Core Duo, so quite an old mac, and iTunes 11.4. PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!I've tried turning off and turning back in sync music, tried manually installing music.
