Can't sync my iPhone to both my PC & Mac...now what?
I was initially able to do a sync from my Mac (photos, podcasts, audiobooks and videos), then connected iPhone to my work PC laptop and only checked on the "info" page: calendar and contacts (Outlook) and bookmarks (IE). The first sync worked, and it had everything on it. But then when I went to reconnect the iPhone to the Mac, it wont show up under devices now and comes up with an unknown error. I had to do a restore.
Not sure what to do; I can't migrate all of my data together on one machine (cant dump my "fun" media on my work laptop, and can't keep calendars & contacts updated if they reside on the Mac (since they are Exchange based in Outlook). So:
1. Are there maybe any sync programs out there that would syncronize my PC calendar & contacts to the Mac (so the iPhone can just have the partnership with the Mac)
2. Has anyone figured out a way to allow to iPhone to go back and forth between the PC & Mac for syncing (as long as they are not trying to sync the same type of data)?
Any other thoughts out there - I know I'm not alone! Thanks
I figured it out!!!! (PTBoater, you led me down the right path!). You have to do as you mentioned, uncheck "automatically sync" on the info page, and check "only syn checked items". Then after you finish syncing with either the Mac or PC, uncheck both of them, click apply, and disconnect and the device should be recognized by the other machine. This worked for me...hopefully it will work for any of you guys out there struggling with it..let me know...

ThanksTo share the iTunes content between your computers, just enable Home Sharing from iTunes > File > Home Sharing.
You'll still have to sync the iPhone with just one iTunes library because of the copyright restrictions that iTunes must follow.

You can only sync to one account but you can use Home Sharing to share iTunes libraries...

How Many devices can I sync with my iPhone? I own a Mac PRO and an iMAC. Depends on where I am, I will plug my iPhone to either of the machines. I haven't sync with either machine yet.

There's not much to explain. When a device is connected, you see the row of different categories across the top: Summary, Info, Apps, Tones, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, and Photos. I will agree that it is something you should only do mindfully. But if you do make sure each category is syncing to only one device, there will be no data loss and no mess. -

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one then sync.
Iphone will sync with one library/computer at a time. Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content. -

I suggest to copy all your files in your external drive to your Macbook and reformat that external drive to Mac OS Extended Journaled or exFat.
Once you've done that - then copy all the files back to your external drive.
Do not format your external drive if you haven't copied whats in your external drive. You'll lose everything. -
How can I sync two iPhones with iCloud on my mac?
My husband and I both have an iPhone and one macbook between us. How can I get iCloud to transfer photos/info from both our iPhones to our mac withough having to change login details all the time (defeating the purpose of iCloud if I need to log onto the computer to transfer my photos)?

I got an iMac first, let me call that iMac "A", and I used to sync my iPhone to A. Then I got a macbook, let me call that macbook "B". When I use B for the first time, I used Migration Assistant to transport all the files and settings from A.
After that, when I use A and B in the same Wi-Fi network, both of their iTunes shows my iPhone on their list. And I can sync my iPhone to both A and B without the warning window showed up. But, I can't manage both two iTunes library at the same time, so I want to choose only B to sync my iPhone. And I found out that, in fact, my iPhone always trying to sync with A, not B, when I turn on the Wi-Fi sync option. Now I can only use cable to sync my iPhone with B, and that's not over. I found sometimes all of my apps are selected when I tried to sync my iPhone with B, no matter how many times I changed that setting, the next time all the apps will come back to be selected again!
How can let my iPhone forget A and accept B?Actually I think we need to wait on an update from iTunes to update its compatability with the new iPhone software. They usually release a new version of iTunes with the iOS. So I hope to see an update from apple by the end of the week or maybe even today.
Needless to say. I am experiencing the same issue as well. I've tried all the proposed fixes listed above. It's gotta be a software compatability issue. -

No. You can only music to your iPhone from one computer at a time. If you try to load music onto it from a 2nd computer, it will erase the current content on the iPhone and replace it with whats in the iTunes library you are connected to,

There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content. -
