No you can't, all content (apps, music etc) that you download from the store will remain tied to the account that downloaded it - you can't transfer them to another account, nor can you merge accounts.

• Using Time Machine HD, can I transfer applications to new iMac

I have been using time machine to an external drive for 3 years. I'm going to buy a new iMac in June. When I transfer data etc. using the TM external drive, will it transfer my applications? Many of my apps were downloaded and I don't have discs. Where can I get info on what will and won't transfer if needed.

Did you ask a sales person, or a Genius?
Even the Geniuses don't get a lot of training on such things, and/or may have misunderstood.
Your existing default and ILife Apple apps won't be transferred, unless you've moved them (bad idea).
Other apps you've bought from Apple, and 3rd-party apps will be transferred, but as noted, some "complex" apps may not have everything they need.
See these Apple articles:
[How to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from another Mac|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4413]. Note: there isn't a separate Apple article for Setup Assistant, but it's similar, and what you want to use, not Migration Assistant.
[Intel-based Mac: Some migrated applications may need to be updated|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1963?viewlocale=en_US] applies to both Migration Assistant and Setup Assistant.
The web page in my earlier post links to this one for details: [Using Setup Assistant|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/SetupAsst.html]. Note the screen shot where you can select or omit Applications.

• I am changing macs from MacBook Pro to MacBook Air can I transfer application licenses to new device

I have a MacBook Pro 15 that I need to switch to a MacBook Air . I have applications like aperture, MS Office 2010, photoshop and others that I want to move to the air. I will be cleaning the drive on the MacBook Pro and selling it.
Is there a way to do this and still be compliant to the licenses?

Except for some very specialized licenses, yes you can do this. If you simply migrate your system from one to the other you should have all your apps on the new one and working fine. To be legal, just delete those apps once your new system is up and running fine.

• Transfer applications from ibookg4 OS10.3.9 to imac with 10.6.2

I have lots of video and photo editing software on my ibook with OS 10.3.9 and have access to an imac with 10.6.2. Can I transfer applications from the ibook and expect the imac to run the programs? If so, what is the best way to tranfer the applications?

You need to check this site. Some apps may not work in 10.6.

• Can't Transfer App to iPod? iPod must have Installing Applications ON

If you can't transfer iTunes app to iPod or check the iTunes box for "Automatically Install New Apps", make sure your iPod has the setting for "Installing Applications" set to ON. (Settings --> General --> Restrictions --> Installing Applicatons == "ON").
I had wrongly assumed this item setting applied to installation of iPod Apps directly from the Internet, not through the PC. I was wrong. Others might need to know this as well.

The Restrictions applies to both direct download and syncing.

• Can i transfer file from application server to lotus server.

hi
can i transfer file from application server to lotus server.
i m geting file on application server but i want to transefer that file from application server to lotus server.
if yes than give me suggestion.
thanks in advanced.

Hello Laxman
If you want to trigger the file transfer from within SAP then you need to execute an external OS command (transaction SM49, SM69).
At the level of the OS (operating system, e.g. Windows, Linux) you need to be able to transfer files to the Lotus server.
Your task is, for example, to write a report executing the external OS command which will be executed at the OS level where the file transfer happens.

• I am waiting for a new iMac with two drives: SSD conventional hard drive. How can I transfer only a certain number of applications to the SSD and the rest to the physical hard disk drive?

I am expecting a new iMac (i7 with SSD). How can I transfer only certain applications along with the system, library etc. to this limited (space) HD and other applications to the conventional disk HD in order to save space on the SSD?
Thank you,
Gilles

I have the same scenario, using an SSD for my start-up drive. I have copied my Applications folder to a mechanical hard drive and created symbolic link to it. The symbolic link resides on the SSD and works properly.
That may not be the best solution. Many updaters expect apps, especially Apple apps, to be in the /Applications folder on the OSX drive; if there are updates, the apps may not be found, thus may not be updated. I don't know if the installers/updaters will follow a symbolic link or not.
DItto some apps, especially Adobe apps, won't even work if they're anywhere else. Again, I don't know if they'll follow a symbolic link, either.

• HT204266 can we transfer purchased applications to another apple id?

I have an iphone 5 and I have purchased applications for my children. They now have an ipad 4th gen each and I want to transfer all their games to their ipads but they have a different apple id to mine. Can we do this and if so how?

You can't transfer them to another account, all downloads from the store are tied to the account that downloaded them. If your account is authorised (via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option) on the computer's iTunes that they are syncing their iPads to then they should be able to sync them to their iPads.
If you haven't got those apps on that computer then you should be to copy them over e.g. copying them onto a flashdrive and then doing File > Add To Library to add them to that computer's iTunes. By default your apps should be stored on a computer in a Mobile Applications folder somewhere under :
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes

• Can I transfer iTunes and other applications to second user on same Mac?

I am hoping I can create a second user account with just iTunes and Traktor (music software) to help eliminate any problems with Traktor from other programs running in the background etc.
Can I transfer my music to the second user's iTunes? Can I move Traktor to the second user, it is an instaled application? If so, how?
Thanks.

Move the iTunes library in the Music item of the Finder's sidebar to the /Users/Shared/ folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down, and point it there.

how can I transfer downloaded applications from PC to IPAD2 using itunes

If they're iOS applications, sync the iPad.
If they're Mac or PC applications, you can't.

• Can you transfer all the application from a laptop to ipad 2 ???

Can you transfer all application from my laptop to ipad 2 like vMware fusion and other ???
Gilles

The iPad runs a completely different operating system from a Windows or Mac (even though they're both made by Apple) - it's called iOS. The only apps that you can run on it are those you can purchase from the App Store (you can get free ones there as well). Some programs have both computer and iOS versions, but they are separate pieces of software.
