Can't upgrade N97 past V12

I am having trouble upgrading my N97 to V20/V21.  I have seen other posts about this issue, but can't find one where the problem has actually been solved.
I purchased my N97 from Amazon when it was first released.  I have an RM-507 phone that says it's made in China.  My code is 057500.
I have tried updating with NSU and with the firmware update on the phone.  Both tell me that no updates are available for my phone.  When I try "#0000#" it says, "Request not Completed."
I tried contacting Nokia and they claim that the problem could be because of phone provider prevents it.  This sounds like hogwash to me considering I have an unlocked phone,

My code is 057500.
Put your phone code in the software updater and it will tell you .
I have tried but number not known  could be you need Asian checker looks more like a wrong number though .
I tried contacting Nokia and they claim that the problem could be because of phone provider prevents it.   TRUE   millions of posts on this forum .
Firmware released by Nokia goes to Country legislation  then to phone providers who may  alter the firmware  . The providers then may or may not release the phone firmware .
Likewise for country variants     .

  • After getting new motherboad, I can't upgrade Tiger past 10.4

I had an audio problem with my PowerBook and my dealer said a capacitor had gone bad and so they replaced the motherboard under Applecare warranty. The machine worked fine except, since I had it back, I can't install any of the Tiger updates. I tried using software update and also manually doing the updates one release at a time. After installing an update (say for example 10.4.4 combo), it installs and then goes to restart. But unfortunately, during the restart I see the Apple logo on the grey background with the spining icon but this remains forever spinning. I never get past this point.
I would appreciate any suggestions as I am loathe to take it back to the dealer as last time it took 6 weeks to obtain and replace the motherboard.

it would seem about the only thing you coudl try to be sure there is not some problem with the motherboard is to backup your data - wipe the dirve - and install a clean OS. Unless someome else has a better idea. I woudl not wait too long to take it back if there is a hardware problem - sometimes the relacement parts only have a 90 day warranty.

  • Can't upgrade Catalyst 2960S-48LPS-L to 15.0.2X

I just purchased a new 2960S-48LPS-L. I can't upgrade it past 15.0.1-SE3. If I try to go any newer with the firmware it gives a licensing error. Then it boots into a cut mode of the IOS. Below is a copy of the licensing error after it boots to a newer IOS. The same error also appears in the switch log.

The switch does load the 15.0(2)SE6 and comes up to that prompt showing that there is no valid lanbase license. At that point it comes up to a cut version of the IOS it only shows a couple of enable and configuration commands (not the full list). It won't let me save the running configuration, it  also won't let me reboot the switch through the reload command. Due to it not being able to access the startup-config. The switch works perfectly running IOS 15.0(1)SE3 and below.
It gives the below errors while running IOS 15.0(2) and newer:

Do I need to reverse my thought on which to buy first?
I plan on keeping the iMac and PB until they cease to work ( have replaced HD's on both already).  I mostly use the PB-- lots of writing, surfing, email, etc.
    Your thoughts?

The minimum Mac specs (from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/) are :
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 10.2 or later recommended (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access
So you only need Leopard, not Snow Leopard

The latest version of iPhoto which can operation with OS X 10.4.11 is iPhoto 7 which is part of iLife 08.  You might be able to find a copy of iLIfe 08 on Amazon.com or Ebay.com.
iLife 08's full system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 processor
iMovie ’08 requires a Mac computer with an Intel processor, a Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0 GHz or faster), or an iMac G5 (1.9 GHz or faster)
iDVD ’08 requires 733MHz or faster processor
512 MB of RAM; 1 GB recommended; high-definition video requires at least 1 GB of RAM
3 GB of available disk space
    DVD drive required for installation

  • N95 - can't upgrade to v12

    Hi
I'm new to this, so this might be a stupid question, but I try anyway ;-)
My N95 runs firmware v11.0.026, and I want to upgrade to v12.0.013. My phone has product code 0547710.
When running NSU (the newest) it says, that I can't upgrade, v 11 is the newest available version... Why does it now allow upgrade to v12?
Do I have to contact anybody - or do I simply have to wait?
    Please help... ;-)
    Bjarne

    Hi bjarne
Presumably your N95 has network branded software rather than generic SIM free and unfortunately it is a case of waiting for it to be released.

  • Can't upgrade past 10.6.8 - how do I get the best out of my mac?

    Hi everyone,
This is my first ever time posting in this community since purchasing my Mac in 2008, it's been that good!
My problem is that I currently live in Peru (from Australia). Macs are ridiculously over-priced here in this country and because I live on savings, upgrading at this time is not going to happen. I'm building a website for my business and because Safari 5 is so out of date, it's not showing the site properly when I make changes (using wordpress). In addition, my computer is very slow and I have regular meetings with the spinning ball of death.
I've tried to clear out as much junk from the computer as I can to speed it up and I am now looking at installing Firefox because of the Safari issues, which is going to just add more bloat to an already sluggish system.
I ran an EtreCheck on my system and I'm hoping one of the good people in the Mac community may be able to tell me if there are any glaring issues/viruses etc that stand out which could be causing me any problems? I've done as much as I can within my limited knowledge of soft and hardware Heregoes...Thank you in advance!

    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase a redemption code at the Online Apple Store: OS X Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. Use the code to redeem a download of Mountain Lion from the App Store. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later.

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • I just got a iPhone 4 in the past month. Can I upgrade to the 4s for free?

I was wondering that if I just recently bought a iPhone 4 from apple. Can I upgrade to the 4s for free?

Yes.  I just did today.  However, the new price for the iPhone 4 is now $149.   So that is the credit that will be issued, meaning the 4S will cost you $50.

  • Can't upgrade or buy apps on itouch (invalid security code???)

Okay, so this has happened to me before, but it ususally meant that i didn't have any money on my account or i put my billing info in wrong. That isn't the case now. I have over 50 dollars in my account and have trippled checked all my billing info. I know I put the right security code in because I've been using the same card for the past 9 months. I can't upgrade any of my apps, buy the free ones, or buy music. I have no clue why it isn't working, and it's really starting to bug me. Any suggestions?
P.S. it also says there is a problem with my last purchase. At the time i guess i didn't have any money in my account, but I do now, so shouldn't it be working?????? Help

    Thank you!

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
    open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
    followed by Enter.
    launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
    3 - try again.

  • I have an apple iMac G5 running Mac OS 10.4.11 can i upgrade it to 10.5? if so will i also loose all the software currently installed on my Mac? eg. Adobe software.

I have an apple iMac G5 running Mac OS 10.4.11 can i upgrade it to 10.5?
If so will i also loose all the software currently installed on my Mac? eg. Adobe software.
I have moved countries (opposite side of world) so i do not have my install disks, or the disks that came with my Mac.
Where can i get the 10.5 upgrade from?
Do i need my original disks that came with my Mac?
    - Thanks if anyone can help
    Note:
I have never had any problems with my G5, it's been my awesome helper these past 7 years, I can't say the same thing for my new Mac, but it seems now my poor G5 is slowly being made redundent because they no longer write software for it.
I don't see why i should pay for a new Mac because my old one does not always function on the web, or having a new printer because it does not support the new software.
My New Mac Laptop has had no end of troubles since i bought it less than a year ago.
What happened to Mac being a sign of Quality??

First off, all upgrades can potentially break a system.  First and foremost, backup your data before installing anything.  Next read this tip as 10.5 loses Classic compatibility, and has these other issues outlined on the tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2275

  • Upgraded to Yosemite can I upgrade cs2 to cs5 and get it to work

I just upgraded my computer not realizing cs2 would no longer run on Yosemite, can I upgrade my software and get it to work or do I need to buy the whole new software?  I am not looking to go to the cloud.
    Thanks.

You are long past any upgrade eligibility and even if you were to buy a CS6 license, there are compatibility issues with Yosemite. Getting Creative Cloud would make that much more sense...

  • Can I upgrade the OSX V 10.7 Lion to another operational system without risc to lose the instaled programs?

How can I upgrade the Mac OS X 10.7.5 to better operational system?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and try downloading Yosemite from the Mac App Store. If you get told that it's incompatible, your computer can't be upgraded past 10.7.5.
Upgrading the OS always carries the risk of losing data that hasn't been backed up. It isn't possible to foresee all problems associated with this.

  • HT1444 can I upgrade Mountain Lion to a Mac 10.5.8

can I upgrade Mountain Lion to a Mac 10.5.8?

It depends upon your Mac.  Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About this Mac" and "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
