I cannot save any document without changing the name

No matter how slight a change I make, I cannot save a pdf file without giving it a new name

I have the same problem.
I am running Win7
I have Acrobat X 10.1.3
I am forced to rename files when I attempt to save to a folder. It seems to work fine when on the desktop.
Why does it work from the desktop and not from the file folders?

Either make the clip a subclip or convert it to a new master clip. Both can be done in the Modify menu.

Is it possible to change the name of a photo in one album without changing the name in other albums?

I use the photos in events to create more than one album and I want to use a unique name in each album. When I change the name in one album, all instances of the photo also change.

Correct. Albums just reference the photos in an Event - it's why a pic can be in 50 albums and use no extra disk space. So, change one and you change all. The alternative is to duplicate the pic in the Event.

Our weekly science radio show/podcast, Are We Alone, is going to change names in mid-July. We have concerns about whether this will disrupt downloads for people who are subscribed to the current show (eg, if they will need to resubscribe to the show again after the change), if there is a way to direct people from the old name to the new (if they heard about the show but don't know the new name), and how to put a "heads-up" notice on our current space in the iTunes Store. I suspect for that, we just need to edit our current description field in the RSS xml, but I don't do that part of the process.
Any help or experience in doing a switch like this would be very helpful to us.

The iTunes Store identifies the podcast by its feed URL and the number which it allocates to the podcast when it's accepted. If you change the title all that will happen is that the title will change - except that some podcast creation programs (iWeb for example) derive the feed URL from the title, so if you change the title it changes the URL of the feed and breaks the connection with iTunes. Bar that, you shouldn't have any problems.

There's a method described [here|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1428]. Bascially it involves logging in as the "root" user and making a new home folder with the name you want and then creating a new user with the name of that new folder.
Make sure you backup your data before doing this.

My iphone is recognized as my wife's iphone by my computer. I believe this is preventing my wife from making necessary changes to her phone. Any thoughts on how to change the name on the computer?

A few weeks back, I connected my wife's iphone to my computer to download an update. Since that time, wheneve I connect my phone, the computer recognizes it as hers. ITunes correctly identifies the phone, but the computer does not. Is there any way to change the name with the computer. I canot locate any way to do this.

i suspect that this problem is under windows, like mine, the solution was go to start/run/regedit and then look for the name that you want to change, for example, if your wife's name is susan, use the search option in regedit to look for every possible susan word you find and then chage susan for pete, if pete is your name. Only the Susans related to the iphone name, dont change everything with susan in it, is easy to know wich one is related to the iphone name, don't worry. This procedure worked for me. good luck

I cannot figure out how to change the name that is displayed as one of the folders (in the red circles in the picture). It currently has my dad's name because he set up the computer but he does not use it and I wanted to try and change the name to my own. I have tried system-preferences/users-&-groups and made changed the admin to my own name but that did not change the folder name. And when I clicked the "unlock to make changes" on the folder menu (left window in the picture) it did not allow me to change the name. Any ideas?

That is your admin account on the computer. Simple solution:
Create a new admin user account to your liking. Log into that new account then delete the old account.

How do I change the name of my bluetooth keyboard on my iPad?

I recently was awarded a grant to buy a class set of wireless bluetooth keyboards for my classroom (26). Since I teach at a middle school, the idea of all my students pairing at the same time gives me nightmares. I took the set home and attempted various techniques I've come across to change the name of the bluetooth keyboards (preferences/bluetooth/gear icon/change name) and it seems to work, but whenever I pair it with an iphone or ipad it still just comes up as "Bluetooth Keyboard." Naming these would really help. Thanks!

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

HT2497 Airport is not recognizing my wireless network because my wireless network has the same name as another apartment in my builing. I cannot change the name because my room mate controls it, is there any way I can make it find my wireless network?

It used to be that the other apartment with the same name didn't have theirs password protected so even though only one or the other would show up, I could always get onto one. Now, they have password protected theirs and it seems to be that 100% of the time only theirs shows up which I only can tell because it says "invalid password" when I try to connect to the Internet.
I have asked my room mate to just change the name of the network but she is really slow to do anything about it and I need to be able to get the internet at home and the internet is in her and set up through her computer so I really don't have any way of being the one to just go in and fix it myself.
Is there any other way to make Airport recognize that there are two different networks with the same way so it will find mine? I feel like I have tried everything including mannually typing in the name of my network and typing my password and it still just says "invalid password." I have also double checked that I was typing in the correct password and I am. My room mate is not having any problems accessing the Internet so I know the problem is not with our connection (she also has a Mac, almost the same model as me, I have a MacBook Pro purchased in 2011). Hi - you can do what you want to do with AirPlay from your iPhone - but unfortunately it is not as easy as the people in the Apple store told you - your first problem is that you have a non Apple router - you cannot extend a non Apple router wirelessly with the Express - you can only join the network and connect an ethernet device to it - you can however connect via ethernet and have it create a wireless network of its' own - you can set this up from your iPhone or the XP - but this is a complicated setup and would involve many different discussion areas of this forum - therefore I would suggest that you use your 90 days of support and consult directly with Apple to do this - go to this link - http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

Since this is isolated to a single file, try exporting it to Interchange Format (.inx), then open and save the resulting file as a new InDesign file.
Since the problem occurs during export, that may not be possible. Another option to try would be to copy all elements, page by page, and "paste in place" into a new document the same size. If you used layers, be sure to enable "paste remembers layers" in the layers panel menu.
This kind of problem is often indicative of an underlying font issue. You said there are only three fonts, and you should verify that in Type > Find Font... Try replacing, at least temporarily the fonts in use with something else that you know to be reliable from other documents. You might want to do this before the other steps.

How do I save a document without it saving the text/object box outlines?

Is it because I'm using the trial that I can't save a document without it showing the outline of every text/object box? I've not selected all, but that's what the saved document looks like...
