Can the menu/forward/backward/pause be scratched/peeled off?

to prevent scratches i usually put some packing tape on wherever need be (cell phone screens, etc)
I was thinking of doing the same as it has done a great job for me in the past, but i don't want to be peeling off any of the clickwheel as well.
can someone confirm that the clickwheel isn't a decal sprayon?

OK, I'm going the applescript route. When I run the script within automator, it works fine. However, when I run the script from a menu as a service, it has no effect at all on iTunes. I must be missing something.
Here's my script:
tell application "iTunes"
if player state is stopped then return
          try
set player position to (get player position) + (-5)
          end try
end tell

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • The page forward/backward arrows have disapperared - how can they be returned?

Arrows @ top left for movement to previous screen have disappeared

I'm running 10.8 and Safari 6.0.2 so this might not apply to you exactly but, in that setup: in View on the menu bar is a setting for Show Toolbar. If it says "Hide Toolbar" then the toolbar is showing. If it says "Show Toolbar", it is not showing (so click on that and it will make the toolbar appear).  If only certain pieces of the toolbar are missing, use View/Customize Toolbar.

  • Can the Menu Bar be placed under the Toolbar like in previous versions of Firefox?

Had to reset Firefox browser today which automatically update to latest version, 32.0.3 . When I added the Menu Bar back on the Startpage it (by default) placed it above the Tab/Toolbar. I originally had it just below the Toolbar, and would like to place it back in that position. I already tried to move it by the "Customize" button, but it does not allow the user to move it there.

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to customize the appearance in Firefox 29 and later and make it look like older Firefox versions.
    *Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
*You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
*You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

  • Can the Menu Bar be made bigger?

Is there any way to make the entire menu bar - text and icons - larger? We have some vision problems and on the 27" monitor it's pretty hard to read....

Unfortunately not. You can change the resolution of the monitor (System Preferences -> Displays) to make everything bigger, or you can use some of the options in System Preferences -> Universal Access to magnify portions of the screen. But you can't make the menu bar bigger and leave everything else alone - the menu bar size is fixed.

    Hello Lola51,
I would be concerned as well if my iPod was unresponsive.  I found a resource that I think would help in a situation like this.
I recommend following the steps in this troubleshooting assistant:

  • Can the MSI H81I Mini ITX LGA1150 overclock out off the box pentuim g3258 ?

Hi everyone Im building a mini itx gaming computer and I want to know if the MSI H81I can overclock the g3258 easily and out off thé box ( I dont have any other cpu to make a BIOS update )
    Thanx
    Nalfein

Obviously voice inflection doesn't come across well in typing.  If we're here only to sing MSI's praises, it's not a forum.
"Fix the attitude" is little harsh considering MSI seems to be the only one following Intel's wishes.  Perhaps you missed the light hearted "Peer pressure:  Come on MSI...everybody's doin' it!  Lol" and the part where I said I like the board? ASUS, Gig and others as well as other MSI boards can run the little Haswell multiplier up, this H81i, bummer...nope.
No, overclocking it is not endorsed by Intel, MSI or anyone else for that matter and no company can endorse cranking a 3.2 chip to 4.7.  However, the web is full of H81/g3258 overclocks.  Like, for instance, Tom'sHardwareguide.com.  We all read the specs (or should) but as is well publicized, you don't need the expensive Z boards to work low end magic.
I've used MSI components since the Athlon 750 CPU was new and still have an old MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 in a drawer out of nostalgia. I would simply like to play with the multiplier and tinker up to 4.0 or something modest, just to see.    Heck, even ECS is doing it.  I wanted to stay with MSI products since I'm happy with them.  As a board, it's fine.  The news about updating the BIOS and rolling up the multiplier just isn't true.  (Yet)
Edit-Ok...I missed this: "Rules- Attack, abuse or otherwise 'bash' MSI or its products. We are only interested in providing help to users having problems with their hardware and seeking assistance."
Now I understand.  In a way the links in the next post help.  They all still endorse MSI products by specifying which boards are g3258 multiplier friendly.

  • Can the 'preventing widows and orphans' option be turned off?

Can I turn off the 'preventing widows and orphans' option and not use it on my document?

    In Pages 5 (we assume):
Format > Text > More > uncheck the options
It is a paragraph attribute so you need to select the text you want to apply it to.
Then resave the styles that apply to that text.

  • Lenovo Y50 - Can the SSD part of Hybrid Drive be turned off?

I have a Y50 with a 1TB HDD + 8GB SSD Hybrid drive.I have heard and sometimes experienced in some games that the SSD part of the drive sometimes act as a hindrance to smooth perfomance. Can anyone tell me on a way to turn the SSD part off?

None of these replies addressed the reason for my original question.
I do appreciate the answers however I see I should have been a bit more thorough in my query.
I know how the fusion works.  I know you can get a 1 tb ssd with the imac.
I also know that it is very very expensive to get a pure pcie 1 tb ssd as an option.
The reason for my question is to see if the sata ssd which is a little slower and also much much cheaper than pcie flash ssds can be used instead of the slow
hdd in the fusion configuration.  I have ordered the 512 gb pcie flash for my imac so I am committed to pure ssd.  I would still like to know if
what I mentioned is possible as a much less expensive option.
Sorry for the confusion but in a rather lengthy search throughout the net and asking Apple's Geniuses I have been as yet unable to get any answer.
It would seem to me that using a sata ssd instead of a sata hdd would be nothing but beneficial in the fusion setup.

  • When right clicking apps such as Pages, it shows 10 recent documents in the menu.  How do I turn this off?

This has only been happening since switching to Lion.  I have searched System Preferences and Pages preferences.  It does this in iChat too, with chat transcript files.  Any suggestions?

If you are Safari - look at your preferences -
When that dialogue box appears on your screen it has several headres
General, Appearance, Bookmarks, Tabs, RSS, Autofill, Security and Advanced
Go to AutoFill - and click off other forms -
That should help you out. Good luck.

  • Can the Apple Store in Munich change a peeled sync cable over 2 years old?

    Hi,
I have a peeled sync cable on my iPhone and I just wanted to know if they could replace it for free even though my iPhone was out of warrenty.
    Thanks.

Doubtful if its out if warranty, but we have no way of knowing.
They'll replace it in exchange for money though I.e. you buy a new one.

  • Can the iPod menu be turned on?

Can the menu that appears when an iPod is connected be turned on, without the iPod connected?
I would love to be able to set up my sync stuff before the iPod is connected.
    Thx,
    Scott

I don't think the iPod menu can be turned on with the iPod connected, but I did get a little bit of that desired functionality with the method below. Specifically, if there are songs I want to put on my iPod, then this method allows me to designate those songs to go onto my iPod at the next sync... It's something, but clearly not everything, because new playlists or new podcasts can't be set to automatically sync.
First, this only works if you are using the iPod in "semi-automatic" sync mode, where only certain playlists are synchronized. What I did was create a a specific playlist for each iPod - I have a 60 gig and a 4 gig nano. Then, I set up each ipod to sync with its corresponding playlist. So when I rip a new CD, I can immediately drop all those new songs onto one (or both) playlist, and then at the next sync, those songs will go onto that iPod.
Like I said, it's only a partial solution. If I create a whole new playlist, I can't designate that sync with a given iPod until that iPod is connected.
    Maybe this sort-of partly helps?

  • Step Forward/Backward One Field

Sadly, Avid Media Composer has been my daily editing tool (my place of employment is an Avid house). I started on FCP and freelance using my FCP machine... believe me, I would very much rather be cutting on FCP. Going from FCP to Avid is... well... an interesting and frustrating experience.
However, AMC does has some useful features. One in particular is the "Step Forward/Backward 1 field."
I searched the manuals and the FCP shortcut tool, but I don't really see anything similar-- unless I'm totally missing something. Does FCP have such a feature?
    Thanks a bunch.

You know what, unfortunately even that doesn't really work ... when the playhead is still FCP only ever displays the Upper Field in the Canvas +unless the canvas is set to 100%+. I once filed it as a bug but I am assured that this is how FCP was designed to work therefore it is not a bug. Go figure. If you add the Deinterlace Filter and tell it to remove the Upper Field you'll still see the upper field when the playhead is paused in the timeline, although It does correctly remove the Upper Field during playback and when rendered. The only workaround I'm aware of is to set the zoom level of the canvas window to 100%, at which point both fields are visible, and any field based effects are properly displayed.

  • Can the ipod battery be damaged by freezing temperatures?

can the ipod battery be damaged by freezing temperatures?

From the "Tips and tricks to get the most out of your iPod's battery" article found at...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61434
    It says...
    Keep iPod at room temperature
iPod's battery works best when iPod is at room temperature, generally near 20° C, but you can use iPod anywhere between 0° to 35° C (about 32° to 95° F). If you have left iPod in the cold, let it warm up to room temperature before waking it from sleep. Otherwise, a low-battery icon may appear and iPod will not wake from sleep. If after warming up, iPod does not wake from sleep, connect the power adapter, and press the Menu and Play/Pause buttons until the Apple logo appears.
which doesn't really address what happens if you freeze the iPod when not being used, but clearly you shouldn't run the iPod when it is at freezing temperature.
