Can use EL instead of fmt:message ??

I am using a custom tag ( to generate tabs for UI)
but it doesn't support internationalization.
I substituted the fmt:message tag in "title" attribute of the custom tag for giving it the localized title
but it seems that the fmt tag can not be executed inside another jsp tag,
so i am wondering if there is any way to access localized message through EL so that i can substitute in title attribute of the custom tag

There are two possible approaches to the issue of your custom tag not supporting EL
1 - Make it support EL. If you have have a JSP2.0 container (Tomcat 5 and above) then all tags will work with EL. Otherwise you have to leverage the EL classes from JSTL.
2 - Follow the struts paradigm and pass the name of an attribute to retrieve from scope which will have the relative text in it.
ie
<fmt:message var="i18nMessage" key="someKeyInI18nBundle" />
<my:customTag titleName="i18nMessage" ...>and then in the custom tag
String title = pageContext.findAttribute(titleName);Hope this helps,

I don't think that extension is supported. I believe Firefox can only read .json and .html.

  • Can the 27" iMAC be hooked up to my SKY (non HD) box so I can use it instead of a TV? If so how do I do it?

Can the 27" iMAC be hooked up to my SKY (non HD) box so I can use it instead of a TV? If so how do I do it?
I would like to be able to view my Sky programs through the iMAC rather than have a seperate TV set up in the same room. I have no interest in recording just a straight substitute for a TV.
    Thanks for your help.

Check out www.elgato.com for using your iMac as TV display.

  • Reasons to use AQ instead of 10g messaging service

Are there any advantages to using AQ instead of the JMS messaging service bundled with 10g? Seems to me like we'd want to use the messaging that is part of 10g AS (given that our processing application is running in 10g).
    thanks.

If you use Oracle Application Server 10.1.3, this can be done using the new shared-libary functionality as a full supported operation.

The following articles provides information that can help you regain access your iPod.
If you can't unlock iPod using either of these methods, you can restore your iPod to factory settings. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to iPod.

  • No FW! Can use USB instead?

While Pro owners still have one last measly remaining FireWire port, MacBook owners are out of luck. In order to safely recover from failures, transfer files and the like, will Apple finally certify the USB port for use of the computer in Target Disk Mode?
I know, I know, you would need a special cable to plug one Mac to another, but at least you could place a clone of the system on an extenal USB HDD, and hopefully be able to boot from it if the need arose,

    Keith Owen wrote:
I'm actually getting sick of the whinging about this online. It's not that big a deal unless you have multiple Macs and need to sync them frequently. If you need to migrate from an old Mac to a new unibody MacBook, all you need to do is put your old Mac's hard drive into a cheapo external USB enclosure and use Migration Assistant to transfer your files.
I've been doing this for years. It's just about the same speed as firewire, and you can have Migration Assistant treat it as "another drive on this Mac" or "another Mac" -- It doesn't matter. It will work.
So the big adjustment you have to make is pulling your old Mac's hard drive out and putting it into an enclosure. Seriously... It's not brain surgery.
Yes, provided you have such a drive case available to you. If you don't and, say, you are upgrading from a G4 series of computers which use a different interface, then you are left with a USB case that may be somewhat of a waste to have. A Firewire cable is quite a bit cheaper than a USB case.
Now, that being said, I do see the value in firewire for people with older video equipment or firewire-only backup solutions. I see the value for people who rely on TDM to syn their multiple Macs every day. If you're that user, then you can grab the new White MacBook, or pick up a MacBook Pro. There are plenty of refurb MBPs available from Apple for close to the price of the unibody MacBook.
I think that you are maybe forgetting about those of us who would like the small sized and lighter weight of the current Aluminum MacBooks and want to use them with audio interfaces that are predominately Firewire. If you add these people to those who want the speed and dependability of firewire for back-ups to their existing hard disks, video editing with their current cameras and the situation that you mentioned where you need to synch multiple computers of various ages (G4, G5 and Intel based machines) this lack of firewire is a much bigger problem.
As a consumer-level laptop, most people whom the MacBook is aimed at won't need firewire. If you're prosumer, and need firewire, it exists in other options.
But those options are not available (readily) to me.

  • Is there any development plan for iCloud Mail so I can use it instead of Gmail at some point?

I would like to leave Google services in favour of Apple, as I feel that Apple is much more serious about their users, more mature and more reliable. I also feel that my data is safer with Apple than with Google.
    So I have some questions:
Is there a plan for introducing business service of Mail or icloud in general, so I can create multiple accounts in our business domain?
Is there a plan do extend Mail capabilities so it supports multiple identities including retrieving and sending through external email addresses?
    Thanks
    Michal

Apple doesn't allow discussing new products here, it is prohibited in the terms of use.
I would suggest you look at the history of Apple's online services…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MobileMe (The sidebar lists release/ closure dates).
In the 14 years since iTools started they have never offered the ability to use custom domains. They haven't really added any multiuser support in one account (not at any level suitable for a business).
Apple also closed down the MobileMe sites and galleries features, causing many thousands of sites to disappear. Apple didn't even offer users the ability to redirect to a new domain. Apple also drop services for older Mac OS's, you may find a member of staff is left out of Apple services because they need to use some older software or don't want to use the latest OS etc.
iCloud is just like Apple's other online services - targeted at home or new users. The integration is good, but only for people who fit into Apple's intended audience.
My advice – do not setup your business accounts with iCloud if you plan on avoiding the disruption caused by the whims of Apple.
If you don't want to use Google use another provider for email, calendars etc (or run your own Mac server if you have the know how).
In the 10 years since Gmail started it has been consistent as is the 'Gmail for my domain'. Google have also removed and changed services, but the core features are still there & work on many older OS's.

  • Can I fetch LOB data directly using OCIStmtFetch2 instead of lob locator?

Is it possible to fetch Lob data using OCIStmtFetch2 instead of fetching lob locator? I think using lob locator can increase the round-trip between client and oracle server. Is it right?

    Senthil,
have a look at JDeveloper 10g. You can use UIX instead of JSP simply by changing the file extension from jsp to uix when creating new forms. The form bean used is oracle.adf.controller.struts.forms.BindingContainerActionForm which is a generic form.

  • WHY SUCH AN INJUSTICE THAT BBM CANNOT BE USED ON MY CURVE 9300 OVER NORMAL DATA SERVICE AND OTHER PLATFORMS CAN USE!

    Hello,
I am using Blackberry Curve 9300. I purchased this phone for Rs. 17,250 before some 3 years, I considered RIM to be a Company providing premium services which is unique in itself and which worth spending on them and the most important thing is those are not available to non-blackberry users! Especially in case of Blackberry Messenger, which is such a service connecting all the blackberry users around the world, making a mark of precious symbol of the users of BBM.
Before few days I came to know about BBM being available on Android and Windows phones, my question is why this injustice with your own customers, you provide the app which they will use with their normal data plan and we people who are your real customers, who trusted in you have to spend not less than Rs.129 for just BBM!I must say RIM is the most back-stabbing company I have had ever dealt with! People are laughing at us as they are using the same service for almost free and we have to spend a huge sum for availing the same service, my question is are these non blackberry people your customers or we people who contributed in your success with hopes of trust?
My question is not why you made available BBM usage to non-blackberry users with such flexibility but my question is why can't you be loyal to your own customers?
I hope that RIM would have a pleasing justification.

Thanks with the signature but I already removed it from my profile too.
I was never under a rock when it comes to technology I know that in India before few months yoru Blackberry Z10 was Rs.44,000 and now it is Rs.21,000. I understand the ploy of making BBM cross platform to generate revenue, first in a technical sense and another by creating it advrtisement in the marker.
Do you think that taking an undue advantage of our loyaty and enduring the mockery of your own customer would take you anywhere? Don't you think that abusing your own customer's prestige would even affect you negatively? While your customer is paying Rs.129 for just BBM the Android person sitting next to him is lauging at him for he paid you and call him fool! Profits doesn't starts only by making huge business decisions but from the loyal and satisfied customers. You may always find customers all around always complaining but deep down if you have touched their needs they will bless you with good words at your back, maybe in such a way that you will never come to kow but it will grow you more. I am not here to deliver you a marketing lecture as i am in corporate law field but let me tell you what I read during my graduation, it said something like one disatisfied customer can discourage ten potential customers from buying your product and I have started feeling the same in case of online shopping but I do not know when the company giant blackberry would come to know!
When you said about expanding customer base, think about a company who is expanding its base of customers by disatisfing their current customers who always took pride in you by providing them services at harsh terms and in front of their eyes others are getting benefits at a very low cost.
Our family business is textile manufacturing, not as big as blackberry but we always knew that if we will start selling our goods by describing them as really premium goods and start charging out of lips and bounds, of course my product could be premium worth the price but one thing I could be missing would be a point of finance, there could be cheaper alternatives in market which could be selling at lower price which same usage. My concern is just to keep our eyes open.
Now consider a phone on which I can use Whatsapp which satisfies my messaging needs, gtalk and yahoo messengers for my im needs, push mails for emails, browsing and downloading for just Rs.99 and on the other hand Blackberry services for Rs.389, it is indeed clear the reason of downfall, though it is labelled as premium service and indeed it could be, permium service as I said earlier.
When you feel that your boat is sinking, you do not have only have to pull out the waters but on the priority basis you have to cover the hole too! Blackberry is just pulling out the water leaving the hole as it is!
If you say that legacy mode in BBOS could bother you  from providing BBM for BB device, you know that it cannot be and even I know that, any technical person can know that as it is a little secret that I can use BB browser without BIS and many other apps are example of the same (to be a bit informal). See, I never asked this thing from last three years but now when you are making it cross platform why not to give a little benefits to those who paid you till now, if you can give it to those who are nothign to you?
My question is that why can't you provide BBM to be used on the normal data paln for your own old and loyal customers who paid you such a handsome amount from many years for your services as how you provide on other platform, just for BBM not email and rest of your services?

  • Can use the same thread safe variable in the different processes?

    Hello,
Can  use the same thread safe variable in the different processes?  my application has a log file used to record some event, the log file will be accessed by the different process, is there any synchronous method to access the log file with CVI ?
    David

Limiting concurrent access to shared resources can be better obtained by using locks: once created, the lock can be get by one requester at a time by calling CmtGetLock, the other being blocked in the same call until the lock is free. If you do not want to lock a process you can use CmtTryToGtLock instead.
Don't forget to discard locks when you have finished using them or at program end.
Alternatively you can PostDeferredCall a unique function (executed in the main thread) to write the log passing the apprpriate data to it.
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Did not exist at the point of delivery to the consumer.
Nor did the white corrosive agent present exist at the point of sale.
" exposure   of copper   alloys   to   moisture   or   salt   spray   will   cause   the formation  of  blue  or  green  salts  called  verdigris.  The presence   of   verdigris   indicates   active   corrosion."
I see also 2 contact points with DEEP corrosion pitting not indicative of any defect from the factory.

  • Fmt:message returns question marks instead of unicode

    well, pretty simple problem.
When i'm using <fmt:message key="someunicode"/>, the tag returns question marks instead of hebrew unicode string.
The page displays unicode that isn't coming from the tags.
The resorues files is ok too.
    Anyone knows something about it?

Have you set the bundle for the fmt tag before you use the <fmt:message> tag?
    <fmt:setBundle var="mybundle" basename="resources.application"/>
    Then :
<fmt:message key="my.key.message" bundle="${mybundle}"/>You can also the the bundle in the <fmt:message> tag.

  • I would like to read a text file in which the decimal numbers are using dots instead of commas. Is there a way of converting this in labVIEW, or how can I get the program to enterpret the figures in the correct way?

The program doest enterpret my figures from the text file in the correct way since the numbers contain dots instead of commas. Is there a way to fix this in labVIEW, or do I have to change the files before reading them in the program? Thanks beforehend!

You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

  • Can I use SPEL instead of PPR

    Dear,
I have two message text input fields on a page. My requirement is - the second one should render ONLY IF a user enters XYZ in the first field.
From looking at posts related to SPEL I gather that I need to use PPR to satisfy this requirement because if I create a transient attribute in the VO for field one - the attribute won't be populated until I submit the page? But I need to render field two as soon as I navigate out of field one.
Am I correct in my assumption that I can only acieve this through PPR?
    Thank you.
    Anatoliy

Just to add a bit more detail: PPR is used where you want to rerender a particular portion of the page based on the some user action instead of complete page refresh.
Whereas SPEL is used where you want to control some properties of the bean based on an expression which can use some runtime values from page. Rendered, Read Only, Disabled, and Required are the only properties for which SPEL bindings can be defined.
