Can we change key field values in table maintenance

Hi,
I have created Z-table and table maintenance for the same...
In table maintenance..Can we change key field values??
Is there any posibility????

you can do it in this way.
open sm30->tablname->edit
snow select the row(s)->copy->change the keyfield values-back->save.
no in that sm30, select records with old primary key and delete->save.
so you got all field similar for those record under modification, only the key field changed.

What do you mean by 'protecting' your non-key field value?
1) You want to display it, but make it non-changeable
A - Make the field as output-only in screen, as already answered by a preivous collegue
2) You do not want to display this field at all
A - Goto the DDIC definition of the view (not possible for a table directly), and maintain the required field as a Hidden. After activating, remember to re-generate the maintenance dialogue. Also, please maintain Event 21, in case you want to access/change the value of this field in background.
3) You want to maintain special validations/checks for the field
This can be easily done by introducing your modules within the CHAIN-FIELD commands in the PAI of the generated screens.

Automatic price update if key field values changed in sales order and bill

Hi Experts,
I have requirement as follows.
Scenario: - We wanted carryout the pricing based on Incoterms, customer and material. I have created the condition table with these fields. And maintained the condition record. The values will flow to sales order without any problem.

Problem: - When we change the incoterms say for CIF to FOB the system should redetermine the price automatically, but this is not happening (If will redetermine only freight). If we carryout new pricing manually the right price will flow.

Expectations: - Is their any exit or any configuration setting where in system will redetermine the price automatically if we change the field value in sales order(For the field value it will be used to create condition table).
If anyone done this please help me with setting or Exit and code to enable us to come out from the situation.
We need this to happen while creating sales order as well as billing, Since @ billing prices will be redetermined.

No when even id changes from 1 to n02...i want to write " id id 1' similarily wenever id changes from n02 to n03 then id is " id is n02" and so on

HI,
It is higjly possible in case of Z-table. but in standard table you can't make any modification.
You assign the value range to the domain of field.
go to SE11 and open the database table.
Select the Data Element of the fieldto which you want assign the range.
Click on its domain .
click on Value Range tab.

Implications of adding new key fields to existing table

Hi All,
I have searched forum regarding this. But didn't find exact answer.
We are planning to add new key fields to existing Ztable. I want to know the implications of this.
I have checked the where used list of table and found no impact. Only one point is making me to think again and again.
If we add key fields to existing table then we have to adjust the table from SE14 to activate it. But this adjustment doesn't ask for TR.
So if i release my TR, entries in other systems will also be adjusted accordingly??? Business is OK with the new fields values to be blank for existing entries.

Yes the data in transported systems will also be adjusted. If this table contains too much data make transport at late hours because it will take long and table can't be used while it's adjusted. In this adjustment process data is copied to a temporary table and moved back to original table using move-corresponding command after key added. There will data loss if you remove a key or key fields field length but in your case it shouldn't be a problem.

Key Field Value for File Adapter Sender Wildcard

Hello everybody, is there a way to use a wildcard for the property of NamA.keyFieldValue in the cc for a Fils Sender????, here's an example why, I need to take some Files via PI 7.0 and my key filed can change according to the file an example is that in a file can be HF28 and in another file can be HF29, the only character that is going to be constant is the H, I would really appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance.

File sender adapter will read the file using FCC
Key Field Value entry is mandatory if the key field name is set. Otherwise, the entry can be ignored

Key Field Value in FCC

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario in PI, where I have 1 Header, n Data Records and 1 Trailer in the source file. This data is coming in CSV format.
I am using FCC to convert CSV into XML.
In the FCC, I have used keyFieldValue parameter. For the Header Record, the Key Field Value is constant "H"; for Trailer Record the key field value is constant "T".
However for Data Record, the key field value is not constant. The first character of Key field of Data Record will always be "D", but rest of the Alphabets can change.
Sample File:
"H","3.04",22/10/2009,16:31:12
"D2S",21/10/2009,20:00:26,"20044",00666,"S",1
"D2S",22/10/2009,14:26:20,"20044",00668,"S",1
"D0S",22/10/2009,08:33:34,"00044",04165,"S",1

Write a simple module. The module will do a replace of the Dxx fields to D (you can use simple regex function for this)
After the module, use the messagetransformbean to do the FCC for you.
The module might sound complex, but trust me its a simple logic you need to implement and you can easily do the FCC with the messagetransformbean

Can anyone please tell me how to update a primary key field in HR Tables (PA2001 and PA2002).
I need to update sprps field in both the tables. I used HR_Infotype_Operation function module, but still it is not updating the field.

But I need to change this field as we need to lock the records, as soon as the employee fills his/her time sheets which will be sent for HR Payroll, later on.
When I am updating directly the field the database table PA2001, its not updating but for table PA2002, only few records are being updated.
Is there any other alternative for this problem?

Key field
Each condition table contains keys that can be used for creating dependent condition records.
for example let take condition type PR00.
PR00 uses access sequence PR02 .
Access sequence PR02 has following tables associated with it namely 304, 305 & 306
When you create a conditon record for PR00 with transaction VK11 or VK31, you have a button 'key combination' which is nothing but fields associated with tables 304, 305 & 306.
In brief, Condition records are always created using specific keys. Condition tables are used to define the structure of the keys of a condition record.
Non key field
For example take condition table 144 - sales deal basic data.
Table 144 is associated with access sequence PBUD.
If you check the fields associated with this table (click technical view button), there are three fields at bottom which do not have 'key' check mark -KDATU, PLTYP, KSTAF
So, when you create a condition record for PBUD, system does not propose these 3 fields in 'key combination' and hence are non key fields.

You can do a couple of things - one would be to pass the information using the data linking expert. Right click on the subreport, choose 'Change Subreport Links' and select the field(s) you are wanting to pass to the subreport. CRW will build parameters and a record selection formula for you in the subreport, and if that's what you want, then great. But you can also remove the selection formula from the subreport and work with the parameter fields in the subreport however you would like.Alternatively, you can look to passing Shared variables back and forth from the main and subreport. this link talks about the method to do this: http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/251

For the file name in the sender file adapter you can use the '*' or '?'(as a placeholder for exactly one character)
You can also enable the "Advanced Selection for Source File" in the sender file adapter, where you can do two things:
a)you can specify an exclusion mask for the file name specified above.
b)you can specify/lits multiple directories with a file name and an associated exclusion mask, e.g. in file name you put ".txt" and in the associated exclusion mask "a". The every file with ".txt" except "a" will be fetched from that directory.
Try it out.

i would like to know the use of "key field" in variant tables.
according to definition:This indicator shows whether a characteristic is used as a key field for accessing tables. Key fields have the value "X". When the table is accessed, the values assigned to the key fields infer values for the other characteristics.

Can't change string variable values in Flash CS4 Debugger

I'm using the Flash CS4 debugger, and while I can change numeric variable values in the Variables panel, I can't change string variable values. The only characters the fields accept are the numbers 1-9 and the characters "d" and "j".
I can paste strings into the value fields, but that's a bit of a pain. I've tried this on a couple of different Flash CS4 installations and get the same results.
Does anyone know if it's possible to change string values in the Variables panel of the Flash CS4 Debugger?

File Content Conversion - Key Field Value

Hi Experts,
I am using File to Idoc scenario for my mapping. In the receiver Communication channel, I am using File Content Conversion. My scenario is as follows :
I have a recordset with Header and Line items with Key Field Indicator as 'H' and 'L'. In some cases, the value for this Key Field is coming in as something other than 'H' and 'L'. I need to throw an exception when this Key Field is not 'H' or 'L'.
In the 'Content Conversion' tab, my attributes are as:
Header_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'H' and Line_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'L'. Is there any more attributes that I need to add ?
