  • Performance of the Bex query, buit on infoset is very low

    Dear experts,
I have a bex query developed on infoset, has hit the performance problem.
when I am trying to check the query, found warning message as following
    Diagnosis
InfoProvider ABC does not contain characteristic 0CALYEAR. The exception aggregation for key figure xyz can therefore not be applied.
    System Response
The key figure will therefore be aggregated using all characteristics of ABC with the generic aggregation SUM.
but the infoobject 0CALYEAR is active and is in infoset as an attribute to the one of the Master data infoobject.
Now, could you please help me to improve the performance of the query, which is buit on infoset.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
If Info set is based on Cube then
-->Create Aggregate on the cube for those object used in the Query
    -->Compressed the Info Cube
    -->then run the query
and also in RSRT there are many properties according to the Target please check which property is suitable for you..

  • How can I reduce BEx Query execution time

    Hi,
I have a question regarding query execution time in BEx.
I have a query that takes 45 mins to 1 hour to execute in BEx analyser. This query is run on a daily basis and hence I am keen to reduce the execution time.  Are there any programs or function modules that can help in reducing query execution time?
    Thanks and Regards!

    Hi Sriprakash,
1.Check if your cube is performance tuned: in the manage cube from RSA1 / performance tab: check if all indexes and statistics are green. Aggregate IDx should as well be.
    2.Condense your cubes regularly
    3. Evaluate the creation of an aggregate with all characteristic used in the query (RSDDV).
4.Evaluate the creation of a "change run aggregate": based on a standalone NavAttr (without its basic char in the aggr.) but pay attention to the consequent change run when loading master data.
    5. Partition (physically) your cubes systematically when possible (RSDCUBE, menu, partitioning)
    6. Consider logical partitioning (by year or comp_code or ...) and make use of multiproviders in order to keep targets not too big...
7.Consider creating secondary indexes when reporting on ODS (RSDODS)
8.Check if the query runtime is due the master data read or the infoprovider itself, or the OLAP processor and/or any other cause in tx ST03N
9.Consider improving your master reads by creating customized IDX (BITMAP if possible and depending on your data) on master data table and/or attribute SIDs when using NAvs.
10.Check that your basis team did a good job and have applied the proper DB parameters
11.Last but not least: fine tune your datamodel precisely.
hope this will give you an idea.
    Cheers

    Hi EXperts,

    Hi Juhi,
I am facing the same issue. BW query has three input parameters i.e. Year, Month and Profit center.
I can create the service when query has only one input parameter i.e. Year. But when query has more parameter other than year, I cant create the service. Getting an error 'Association AZPROFIT_CToListOfValues: referential constraint property not found in entity ZMFIGL_ZFIGL_COST_FINAL_FIORIParameter.'
As per your last reply, if we have multiple input parameters then it does not allow to create the service from BEX query. How did you resolve this issue. Please provide some details.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Web Application: Can't Find BEx Query!

    Hello -
I'm new to a company and I've been tasked with identifying the BEx queries that underlie the published web application reports that are accessed via our company's intranet site. I am able to identify the queries via the URL on a few of the published reports.  However, there are a few reports that do not indicate the query name in the URL; these reports are located in a section referred to as "Embedded Reports" and are accessed by clicking on a hyper-link.  Even after I click on the hyper-link and arrive at the web application report, I am still unable to identify the query name within the URL. Furthermore, the URL does not change when I click on the Hyper-link or even after I execute the report.
Does anyone have any insight into my issue?  I have experience with web application reports however my experience is limited to the basics.
Thank you in advance for any help!

Okay, great, thanks for your help!
    Here is the first URL:
    http://mn01web03/lma/forms/Finance/BPS/BPS_links.html
    >This URL has a link that says "All Reports" and when I click on it, I am prompted to login to BW-Production and then I am brought to the following URL:
    http://sapp8100.adc.com:8080/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAzMCZkPW1pbg==)/bc/bsp/sap/zfcst2/zfcst2.htm
    >This is where I find a few links that include the BEx query in the URL as I would expect; and then there are the few other links that do not have a separate URL; even after I click on the report-link and I'm brought to a different web page, the URL does not change.
    Does this help at all?

  • Keyfigure values are incorrect in BEx Query based on infoset

    Hi Experts,
I have created a infoset using 3 DSO's . 1 main DSO( from which i rquire all the data) is linked with other 2 DSO's using left outer join. DSO is linked with other 2 DSO's with a field return GUID .
Now when i am executing a query , key figure values are coming incorrectly because suppose if there is 1 record related to
RETURN GUID in main DSO and there are 4 reords in 2nd DSO with the same RETURN GUID then in infoset data 4 rows are getting created with the replication of all the fields from first DSO against those 4 rows. So in query result amount field is getting 4 times of its original value because of aggregation of all those 4 rows.
I don't have set of key fields by which i can link the all the DSO's to get unique linking of records.
How can i get the amount only one time in query result?
    Hope i am clear.
Please help. I need to create report urgently.

  • Unwanted LOVs - Universe on a BEx query on top of a Multiprovider

    BO XI 3.1
    BW 7.01
OLAP Universe on a BEx query
BEx query on top of a Multiprovider
Multiprovider on 2 DSOs; lets say DSO1 and DSO2
BEx query has a global filter for "INFOPROVIDER = DSO1"
BEx query has a user input variable defined for "Field1" (Field1 is present in both DSOs)
In BEx, F4 on Field1 variable entry gives the values of Field1 from DSO1. (which is what we want)
Expected LOVs for the generated prompt for Field1 in the WEBI report: Values of Field1 from DSO1
    Problem:
Actual LOVs returned in WEBI report: Values of Field1 from both DSO1 and DSO2
    Has anyone faced this before?
    Thank you

    Henry Banks wrote:
    > I have a suspicion the BEX property 'only values in infoprovider' isn't picked up/consumed by the BAPIs used by the MDX interface.
That is correct. The BEx properties do not carry over to the BO side. In Webi 3.1 here are the default selections for LOVs (as far as I know)
OLAP universe against BEx query on an infoprovider (Infocube, DSO, Multiprovider) - Only values in Infoprovider
OLAP universe against BEx query on an Infoset - Values in the master data table
    My understanding now is
OLAP universe against BEx query on a Multiprovider - Only values in ALL Infoproviders under the Multiprovider
    Henry Banks wrote:
    > Yes, this is confirmed by Note 1224318 - MDX: InfoProvider restriction for the member rowset
    > It's a BW limitation of the OLE DB for OLAP.
I have seen this note before and according to it you can set an RSADMIN parameter MDX_JOIN_CUBE_DIME and have more control over the LOVs.
MDX_JOIN_CUBE_DIME = "A" -> The read mode for all LOVs is Only values in master data
MDX_JOIN_CUBE_DIME = "I" -> The read mode for LOVs is either master data or infoprovider depending on the infoobject settings
    Henry Banks wrote:
    > It might be easier to have to 2 data providers for this document, if you don't already, for plan and actual;  or 2 seperate bex queries.
Well, that would work but it would defeat the purpose of having a Multiprovider for logical partitioning, wouldn't it?

  • Need to remove prompts which is comes from Bex query

    Dear Experts,
Currently i am working in webi report (4.0 SP2), Back end of this webi report is SAP Bex query, created by using BICS Connection. In bex query we have created different variables on Company code, vendor, business area, key date etc. from this company code and key date are mandatory variables.
My Bex users need input screen to execute the report as per their requirement. But my webi users don't required any prompts. they want to manipulate data by using input controls.
Req : How to avoid variables (Prompts) which is coming from bex?
    Regards,
    PRK.

    Hi Praveen,
As per my knowledge, We can not remove mandatory BEx variables from the Webi prompt screen. Value for mandatory Query Variable has to be pass from Webi report.
You can create another Bex Query without any variable and need to use for reporting in Webi.

  • How to remove Decimals in Quantity Objects in SAP BO Explorer View created on top SAP Bex Query?

    Hi,
I created SAP BO Explorer report on top of SAP BEx Query.
In SAP BEx Query, Decimals were hided but when i created OLAP Universe on top that SAP BEx Query and Created Index on top of Information Space in SAP BO Explorer and then created Exploration Views. But i'm getting Decimals in my Exploration Views where as SAP BEx Query in RSRT, no decimals were appearing.
Can anyone suggest me how to remove decimals in SAP BO Exploration Views.

    Hi Ramana,
I am not use how you connect to SAP BEx query (Via universe or BWA or HANA)
What I could say is BWA and HANA, you cannot adjust this
For universe, you could try in universe layer, there is note about this
For BWA and HANA, this function might be enhanced but you 'd better raise OSS to SAP to check with them

  • Steps to create a Universe based on Bex query

    HI Gurus,
I am (first time ofcourse) creating a Universe based on a Bex Query. I searched on SDN to find steps to craete a universe on top of Bex query and found a document written by tej Trivedi and found other threads also which explains all the steps.
I understood from his document that in case of OLAP Universes the Structure pan would be empty. And I will not see joins etc..Is that true?
How can I make sure that I will see data?
    Regards

    Hi,
I believe this is a cross post from here Re: BEX Query Objects dont show in Universe  ?
So i will put my answer again:
    Hi,
If you can select your BEx query,  but the 'universe outline' in the webi query panel stays blank (i.e no available objects in the webi query panel)  then you don't have enough rights (authorizations) on the BW -side.
to prove it, try using a sap_all profile in the universe connection .
    regards,
    H
p.s. there is a large section on the required authorizations in the Admin guide.  Also a note covers it :  Note      1585948 - No objects are visible in the query panel when creating a report using Interactive Analysis or BI Launchpad

  • Bex Query showing incorrect data

    Hi Experts,
I have a Bex query on an infoset. The infoset is based on Sales Order Line Item DSO and Sales Order Condition DSO. I am refering Net value from Sales Order Line Item DSO. In the query, the values of Net Value is not coming correctly. When i check the value in Sales Order Line Item DSO it shows 100. However, in the query it shows 500. When i checked the infoset, it had 5 records. In each record, the net value was 100. What should i do to get the correct value of Net Value in the query.
Have anyone faced similar problem ?
Please reply as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    Saachi

    Hi Sachi,
This is a common problem in infoset.
Sales order line item - SLI say
Sales order condition - SC say.
The value you see in your net value field depends on your join condition in the infoset.
Currently you have join in such a way that 1 record in SLI correspods to 5 records in SLC (this is as per your join condition), hence you see this error. Youcan manupilate your join condition to get the required result, if this is viable.
However, in most cases you may not be able to alleviate the fields defining the join.
Say your sales order and item form the joining fields, then in sales order condition DSO you have 5 records for that sales order and item.
The way you could probably avoid net value getting multiplied 5 times is by using exception aggregation  with reference char a characteristic in the query.
The ref char should uniquely identify the 5 sales order item condition lines.
(basic principle - we have to net value/ no of lines in Sales order condition DSO [5 in this case] .)
The problem, however is, whenever you consider uniqueness defining fields, you would look at the keys of DSO, because they define uniqueness. One could have multiple infoobject when defining a DSO key.
So you would'nt be able to define any record with only one particular infoobject(ref char), based on which you could define the  exception aggreation.
You could define one more data field in the DSO which is a concatenation of all of its keys and then use it in exception aggreg as a reference char in the query.
One more way is to load data from the two DSO to further cubes to achieve the requirement.
I think, this is the limitation with the infoset.
Please let me know if you find any other solution.
    Hope it helps,
    Regards,
    Sunmit.

  • Can't import .mov

Can someone tell me why I can't import a .mov or MPEG-4 movie into DVD Studio Pro when I can import it directly and easily into iDVD? I keep getting "incompatible format" error sign.

DVDSP does not accept MPEG 4 files. You dont want to feed an MPEG 2 encoder a compressed file like MPEG 4. Use an uncompressed version of your piece.
