Can we keep the original record as it is and create a version for it
Hi All,
My name is Rafi.
I am creating an application in apex and stuck.
I have a table called Employee_master which stores all the information of employee.
But the problem I am facing is that when a record is updated then it is over writing the original record(In employee_master) which i don't want. Instead of updating the original record it should be stored as version and the original record will be as it is(so that the original record can be tracked easily).
Now suppose if the employee is again updating the record then the saved version should be updated not the original one.
To do this what I need to do.

Hi Rafi,
Create a second table that has the same structure as the employee_master table.
Then, in Apex, use the second table as the one that the user can insert and update to.
Create a trigger on this table that runs for INSERT only and copies the data from the new record into the employee_master table.

I tried to import a perfectly crisp unpixelated screen recording to iMovie and when it imported it became very pixelated and fuzzy I tried exporting it but it was still fuzzy! I looked back at the original recording that wasnt imported and it wasnt fuzzy.
I solved it. When I imported I hit the optimise large button instead just stay to the original.

You do not need to do anything - editing a photo in iPhoto does not modify the original date of the photo - that is a part of the photo informatiopn (in the EXIF data) - the only way to modify it with iPhoto is to use the modify date/Time command

Can't keep the original size of the video (Resize Video option is stuck on 640 x 480h)
I am importing .mp4 files set at 874 x 480h. Somehow AME makes the output size 640 x 480h, which significantly vertically compresses the video.
I tried so many different ways of uncheking the Rewsize Video box, checking it again and specifiying 874 x 480h. Best I got is 874 x 480h with black borders left and right and the actual video to be rendered in output tab is still at 640 x 480h.
It seems that Resize Video option is stuck on 640 x 480h and can not be changed.
Is there some bug in AME I have to work around? Or is it a problem with the original video? If the problem with an original video what exactly do I ask my client to rerender it like if I already receive it in 874 x 480h, can view/play it in this size, AME recognizes the original video to its true size, shows it to its true size if 1x1 pixel preview is selected. However will show a distorted 640 x 480h version if Aspect Ratio Corrected Preview is selected (even with the Resize Video box unchecked)?Hi Marion,
Thanks very much for your message. I have downloaded that program and it's definitely handy for examining the details of the original file. You mentioned in your message about not having to recode the file - The file I'm editing is originally from a Q3 Zoom video recorder and I can use their in-built software (handyware) to trim the file - this doesn't recode the file and so the file size just reduces by the required amount. Unfortunately there is no facility to crop the file with this software - I've looked for other software that would allow cropping without having to recode the file but I haven't found anything suitable for a simple procudure like this - do you know of any software that allows you to crop a file without recoding? Thanks. -

How can i keep the optimize settings in Muse

I was very carefully optimizing the images in adobe photoshop, and make them always at 100%.
When the web site was oline i takes a lot to charge some images and i just realized that Muse increase a lot the file size of most of them!
So, how can i keep the original optimize settings?
I don't want to replace the images manually using ftp

I see that some images keep the original names an its compression and size, but other images doesn't.
The "problem" is with the round corners that i used, the original images are in jpg, but in order to make the round corner the Muse convert them in to png and it increases a lot the file size.

Having trouble figuring out how to save the original photo after I've cropped it - i.e. I want to create a headshot of my husband from a photo of the two of us, but I also want to keep the original. Seems very basic, but can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be great!

Choose a different file name so as not to overwrite the original and don't save any changes when closing the original. -
I'm not sure if this was a recent update in Mavericks, but when I used to delete items from iTunes it would ask something along the lines of:
Do you want to keep the original file or move to trash?
Now I no longer get this, instead iTunes asks:
Are you sure you want to delete the selected song from your iTunes library?
After which, if you choose the option "Delete Song", you get no option to keep the original file, it just straight up deletes if from my library and hard drive. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? For whatever reason, I want to be able to keep the original file on my Mac, without keeping it in my iTunes library.
I've tried resetting dialogue warning, and this hasn't made a difference.

Can you re-import your CD's in high quality, but keep the original track data?

I got roughly halfway through importing my collection of about 800 CD's into iTunes 12, before realising that the default import settings applied by iTunes is not 'the best'. In fact it's not set anywhere near 'the best', it's something like 128kbps lossy format. I wanted to import my CD's in lossless CD-quality. WAV would have been ideal. However it would appear I've missed a trick by assuming it would be full-quality unless I specified something else.
I'm not using portable devices to listen to my music, I have a Mac Mini and an endless supply of hard-drive storage space, and I'm only accessing it at home.
A large number of my discs are classical and jazz, and in many cases I've needed to amend or reorganise the metadata, so that it all complies with an overall filing and categorising system that makes sense and is useful. I also have a large number of rock and blues CD's, but their metadata is normally correct when the discs are issued, so they usually doesn't need adjusting. If you're wondering, yes my taste in music is eclectic. I'm just as big a fan of Mozart as I am of Motorhead as I am of Mo Foster. The problem is that with classical and opera it's important that the 'artist' category shows the names of the performer/soloist/conductor/orchestra, not the name of the composer! (I wish I *did* have actual recordings of JS Bach playing the Well Tempered Clavier!!).
So I'm looking at this big pile of CD's thinking, "is it worth re-importing them all again at CD-quality?", because I'd really like top-quality copies, and I only really want to have to do this once. It *is* worth doing so long as I don't have to do all the jiggery-pokery with all the artist/composer data again, because that takes an enormous amount of time.
So the question is... will iTunes 12 let me re-import my discs at maximum quality, but at the same time let me keep the data that was painstakingly edited and stored with the previous (lesser-quality) versions? Or is there a workaround? Maybe I could surreptitiously replace the old audio with new audio when iTunes isn't running and hope that it won't notice?
It goes without saying that I have spent quite a while trying to do this for myself before asking the forum, and so far I've drawn a blank so I'd be very grateful for any expert thoughts and opinions.

Don't use WAV format as you will not retain metadate. You should use aiff if space is not a problem but Apple lossles format will be just as good with smaller file size.
When you reimport your CDS, you will be asked if you wish to replace existing copies. Select yes, you data changes should be retained. Be aware that when you reimport, CD track names and album title must match your existing files, otherwise they will not replace existing versions.

My husband and I use the same apple Id. We would like to each have our own apple id, but we do not want to lose all our information associated with the current id. One of us will keep the original. If one us creates a new apple id how will that affect the iPhone and iTunes?
That would be my suggestion. Just keep using the common one for purchases in the stores. Then each get another AppleID using a free gmail, AOL, hotmail, MS Live or whatever email account.
Delete your current iCloud account and login with the new AppleID, and logout of Messaging and then backin with the new AppleID. Now you have a shared iTunes/App store account, but completely separate, independent iCloud and iMessage accounts.

How to export a file keeping the original timecode
Hello all,
I'm struggling to find out the way to do the following:
I have an entire footage file and from that I need to cut specific interviews to be translated however I must keep the original timecode where I extracted these interviews from so the editor knows where to place the subtitles (as s/he will be using the file as a whole and because it is a foreign language they won't know the correct place).
Does anyone know how to do this? Using FCP7 btw.
Thank you so so much!!!You cannot export a single QT file that has multiple timecodes embedded into it. What you can do is drop on the TIMECODE READER filters onto the clips so that they visibly show the timecode on the screen as reference.

Print to file, keeping the original filename
Lightroom – Print mode - Print to JPEG file - Print to file. Use: All filmstrip photos. Question: How do I Print to file and save all filmstrip photos with the original names? Seemingly I can only do so image by image by typing the original name. Furthermore the original name is not saved in the metadata when using Print to file. I want to print multiple photos keeping the original name andI do not mind if a digit is added to the end of the name. It should be possible non? I never do away with the original name.

Acrobat 5.0 How do I keep the original file name after I have converted a Word doc to PDF?
MY colleague has a certain setting in Acrobat that allows him to keep the original file name when he converts documents from Word to PDF. Every time I convert Word, Acrobat overwrites the filename and names it "untitled.pdf". I would like to retain the original name and for Acrobat to simply add the .pdf file extension to the original name. How do I do this?
I have no idea what you are doing for sure. Does your WORD document have a name. I opened a WORD document and selected the Acrobat Distiller printer for AA5, I got the file menu for selecting the name and it was automatically filled in with the DOC changed to PDF. If you are using PDF Maker, then you will need to search there - I removed PDF Maker for AA5 years ago and can't view that part. I see the same types of options in PDF Maker for AA8.1.2 as I saw in the printer for AA5 and guess it is the same. The untitled.pdf suggests that you never saved the original DOC file so it has a name.
