Can we pass paramters in the partition script

Can we pass parameters in the partition script in Essbase. Where the parameters are read by a windows batch file which is executed in windows environment.
Our Business requirement, the business will key in the parameters ie(Month and Year) in a partition script dynamically.
We are scheduling the partition script through Windows Batch file.
So is it possible to create a parameter file in windows and pass these parameters to windows batch file.It should be dynamically mapped with partition Script.If possible,can anyone provide sample script to show how it works.

Thank You Wills. The requirement is the users want to change the mappings in the partition script, but users are not having any access to the EAS. They want the mappings to be dynamically changed in the partition script on adhoc basis.
Admin can change the values to the substituion variables, but the requirement is users wants to change the mappings.
So they asked for the parameter file.

    Hi LamboMong,
    just try this:
    http://refit.sourceforge.net
    install, reboot twice and choose the Windows-Partition on next startup.
    (The apple-bootloader doesn't display all bootable harddisks.
    With rEFIt you can boot from all partitions/harddisks on your computer.)
    I hope that will solve your problem.

  • Can I pass variables in the URL string?

    I am trying to get some variables into a loaded swf at
    runtime. The variables will carry information so the swf can load
    the correct xml file. I thought we could pass them through the URL
    string like so:
    new URLRequest("testing.swf?myVar=varOne
    but it just throws an URL cannot be found error. How can I
    get variables into my swf at runtime?

    What you are doing is fine. But you will always get that
    error when testing
    the movie (Ctrl+Enter). Try it in a browser and it should
    work.
    BTW, another way of doing the same is to use a URLVariables
    object, like so:
    var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("testing.swf");
    var vars:URLVariables = new
    URLVariables("myVar=varOne&myVar2=varTwo");
    req.data = vars;

  • Can you pass parameters to the Dashboard in a URL?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to launch a dashboard from a weblink in a new window but I can't figure out how to pass any parameters into the dashboard. I would like to set the prompt or the presentation variable or anything that could be used to filter the results of the 4 reports running in the dashboard. Right now the dashboard comes up with all results from all accounts and I want just results from the account with the weblink.
    Is this possible?
    thanks

    Ok,
    I just tried that and it still doesn't pass anything to the prompt.
    I changed the prompt to an edit field and I made the following weblink but when i click the link from an account it doesn't put anything in the prompt and all data for all accounts is shown.
    This is the URL maybe I messed something up...

  • Can I pass ID of the table instaed of value in dashboard prompts?

    HI,
    Say, I have a table QUESTION which contains 2 columns: ID, DESCRIPTION.
    sample data:
    ID DESCRIPTION
    1 TEST
    2 TEST1
    3 TEST11
    4 TEST
    Herer the DESCRIPTION is stored in the order they appear in a portal application
    Please note that the value of ID 1 & 4 are lexically same
    I now make DESCRIPTION column sorted on ID column in LOGICAL layer and use DESCRIPTION in my dashboard prompt, it will list :
    TEST
    TEST1
    TEST11
    TEST
    but once I select any of the TEST value the results will be shown against both the TEST value, what I want is that if I choose the first TEST value I get the reults against it and when I choose the fourth TEST value I get the results against it only.
    IS this feasible ? Can we pass ID instead of DESCRIPTION as filter ?
    Any other ideas are welcome.
    thanks

  • Can I pass copy of the 4GB installer to a friend?

    Hi -
    A friend of mine wants to copy the 4GB installer for Mac OSX Lion that I have just download because of his slow internet connection.
    Can I pass my copy to him? Is the installer in anyway will only work for my Apple ID?
    If in case he use the installer, will I be billed in my credit card for the second install? Or will the Apps Store notify him that the installer is only for my Apple ID?
    Is there a way where if he use the same installer from me, he can still use his Apple ID and credit card?
    Thanks in advance,

    She can register the device in her name but this will not remove any previous registration you completed. It really is not necessary to do so.
    You should Restore the iPod in iTunes before you sell it to her so she can start with a clean, new device. Unless you own the copyright of all the songs on the iPod you have no right to sell them to her.

  • How can I pass paramters to next page with session protection on?

    Hi, guys:
    I encounter a problem of session protection problem. In a report page I set up a column of "map" link, so I can pass several parameters extracted from the same row to the new page where I can show map. I was using javascript popup2, and it worked well.
    javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:3006:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P3006_H_OFFENDER_NAME,P3006_H_OFFENDER_ID,P3006_H_ADDRESS_LATITUDE,P3006_H_ADDRESS_LONGITUDE,P3006_H_PHYSICAL_LATITUDE,P3006_H_PHYSICAL_LONGITUDE,P3006_H_ADDRESS,P3006_H_PHYSICAL_ADDRESS:#Offender Name#,#Offender ID#,#Address Latitude#,#Address Longitude#,#Physical Latitude#,#Physical Longitude#,#Address#,#Physical Address#','650','450');However, I am required to set all of pages, items with session protection now. after that I got problem as:
    Attempt to save item P3006_H_OFFENDER_NAME in session state during show processing, item has Internal Only protection.
    Contact your application administrator.
    So I changed it as redirect a page in application, and try to pass less parameters and query other parameters, but I got the similar problem:
    Attempt to save item P3006_H_OFFENDER_ID in session state during show processing, item has Internal Only protection.
    Contact your application administrator.
    I notice most of solutions would be turning the session protection as unrestricted for these items, but I am not allowed to do this. Is there any way that I can pass parameters from a row in a report while session protection is on?
    Thanks a lot!
    Sam

    I can quickly show you what I've done to solve for this:
    First, create a PL/SQL Anonymous block, application level process of type "On Demand"  Here is an example of what I'm using - I named the process is SIMPLE_SSP (name is important later)
    declare
    l_url varchar2(1000);
    s_url varchar2(2000);
    begin
    l_url := wwv_flow.g_x01; -- the apex name is g_x01 - note the key in the key value we pass later in javascript
    s_url := apex_util.prepare_url(p_url => l_url,p_checksum_type => 'SESSION'); -- and here's where we get checksum
    htp.p(s_url); -- and here's where we return it
    end;
    Next, I create a javascript function that can be called in the link
    function redir_ssp(p1,p2,p3) {
    var param1 = p1;
    var param2 = p2;
    var param3 = p3;
    // notice when creating our Ajax object we reference the Application process by name
    var ajaxReq = new htmldb_Get(null, &APP_ID., 'APPLICATION_PROCESS=SIMPLE_SSP', 0);
    var sURL = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:4:&SESSION.::::P4_PARAM1,P4_PARAM2,P4_PARAM3:'+param1+','+param2+','+param3;
    // notice the 'x01' literal mirrors the built in apex var we used above. x01, x02, x03 ... etc match their counterparts.
    // you can use many parameters as long as you deal with them in the proc the same way
    ajaxReq.addParam('x01',sURL);
    var retURL = ajaxReq.get(); // and the htp.p is passed into the ajax get which is then returned in the retURL
    //alert(retURL); // for debug
    window.location.href = retURL; //this is the redirect.
    Finally in the link
    <a href="#" onclick="Javascript:redir_ssp(p1,p2,p3)">link text</a>
    This can be easily altered to use in a pop up.

  • How can i pass parameter values from html to a shell script

    Hi Guys...
    I had a requirement where i need to execute a sql statement and print the output in HTML page. This report has parameters to enter. So i created a HTML form which accepts parameters. When the submit button is pressed, the action tag in the form invokes unix shell script file. It will open sqlplus and run the sql script file .sql and print the output in the HTML page.
    sql script contains the query and some set options which prints the output in HTML page. Like "SET MARKUP HTML ON"... The query has some parameters like "select * from emp where empno = &&empnumber. I will use the same name "empnumber" while created the HTML parameter form like " <input type = "text" name="empnumber" size="10" align="left">.
    user sees this parameter form and enters some value in to that empno text box.
    My question is how can i catch these parameter values in a shell script and pass it to the sql script to execute it.
    Help Appreciated
    Thanx

    This is a A Bad Idea (tm). This type of CGI processing is old and were (and still is) full of security holes. Very easy to inject stuff (Unix commands and SQL) into it.. To get those parameters into SQL*Plus requires using Unix shell commands to process it - and something like a backquote allows all kinds of nasty stuff to be injected. The Unix shell was never designed to be used as a secure CGI environment.
    There are far better and far superior alternatives. Perl (with Perl_DBI) and PHP (using Zend Core for Oracle) come to mind as web scripting languages.
    Even easier is using HTMLDB. Very few moving parts. Is free. Supports Oracle 9.2 and 10G.

  • Can we expand the partition of Lion's encrypted space?

    I've been playing with this for an hour.  I have Lion on a 50GB partition, the othe 950 GB are on Snow Leopard.  I'm not really ready to give up SL, so I was going to expand Lion into it.  Wow, not as easy as you'd think.  The best article I've found is this one
    http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DU4.html
    The problem is that my Lion is the bottom partition and will not expand down as in the description.  I always get the same message in Disk Utility:  This partition can not be modified.
    Let's assume I can't at all move the partition.  Can I delete the partition from SL and download Lion again from my TM backup, or will that encryption get in the way?
    As always, thank you much,

    Hi SharonAmt,
    You suggested to keep a Group on Country and then place the Chart Object in the Group Footer. This is helpful in getting different Charts for different Countries but these charts come one after another and not beside each other. I had previously tried this but due to inability to place Charts besides each other, this idea was changed.
    Hi IanWaterman,
    Your answer to my problem was there only in the word 'Underlay'. I have conditionally set the Underlay of different section and by keeping Charts in different sections, I am able to acheive my requirement of placing charts beside each other and also of not keeping any unwanted space.
    Though my original question of whether I can change the Y co-ordinate of any control and also changing the height of the Section still persists, but your solution of UnderLay helped me in acheving my requirement.
    Thanking all.
    Regards.
    Ajit.

  • How to open a page from a Form and pass parameters to the form on that page

    I found a similar example on this forum, but it did not work for me:
    declare
    l_names owa.vc_arr;
    l_values owa.vc_arr;
    i number;
    begin
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_parameters.retrieve(l_names, l_values);
    FOR i in 1..l_names.count
    LOOP
    htp.p(l_names(i) || ' ' || l_values(i));
    END LOOP;
    end;
    By using this method i get the parameters for the Form, like the session ID, but not the parameters for the Page that the form is displayed in.
    Another method I tried:
    To open a Form from a Form and pass parameters works fine like this:
    --In the After processing page PL/SQL event.
    declare
    v_id number;
    blk varchar2(10):='DEFAULT';
    Begin
    v_id:=p_session.get_value_as_number (p_block_name=&gt;blk,p_attribute_name=&gt;'A_ID');
    if v_id &gt; 0 then
    htp.formOpen('PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=2649500412&p_arg_names=_show_header&p_arg_values=YES&p_arg_names=ID&p_arg_values='||to_char(v_id),'post');
    htp.formSubmit(NULL,'Upload Files');
    htp.formClose;
    end if;
    End;
    But I want to open a Page containing the Form instead of just opening the Form. Is this possible to open a Page and pass paramters to the page, and then let the form inside the Page access the passed paramters. The reason for this is that a Form cannot be based on a page template, or can it? When opening the form i want to keep the left menu, which I can if it is a page based on my template with the left menu.
    Best regards
    Halvor

    Hi,
    You can do this by calling the url of the page with the form. You can then use p_arg_names and p_arg_values to pass parameters. In the called form you can get the value from p_arg_names and p_arg_values and assign it to the form field.
    You can call this code in the success procedure of the calling form.
    declare
    v_id number;
    blk varchar2(10):='DEFAULT';
    v_url varchar2(2000);
    Begin
    v_id:=p_session.get_value_as_number (p_block_name=>blk,p_attribute_name=>'A_ID');
    v_url := <page_url>;
    if v_id > 0 then
    call(v_url||'&p_arg_names=id&p_arg_values='||v_id);
    end if;
    End;
    In the called form in "Before displaying form" plsql section write this code.
    for i in 1..p_arg_names.count loop
    if p_arg_names(i) = 'id' then
    p_session.set_value(
    p_block_name => blk,
    p_attribute_name => 'A_ID',
    p_value => p_arg_values(i)
    end if;
    end loop;
    This code picks up the value from p_arg_values and assigns it to the form field.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • How to pass a parameter into RMAN script

    Hello,
    I have the following rman script :
    run {
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1;
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP OFF;
    CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 2;
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT 'c:\oracle\RmanORCL102\ora_df%t_s%s_s%p';
    This script called configure.rman is launch by a .bat script with the following command:
    rman target 'sys/sys12@ORCL102 as sysdba' @c:\oracle\RmanORCL102\configure.rman
    How can I pass a parameter into rman script, I want to pass an additional directory like this:
    rman target 'sys/sys12@ORCL102 as sysdba' @c:\oracle\RmanORCL102\configure.rman v_dir_name
    And use it in rman script:
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT 'c:\oracle\RmanORCL102\$v_dir_name\ora_df%t_s%s_s%p';
    Is it a way to do this?
    Regards,
    Elodie

    One option would be to create a file called backup.bat with the following:
    echo run {
    echo CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1;
    echo CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP OFF;
    echo CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 2;
    echo CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT 'c:\oracle\RmanORCL102\%1\ora_df%t_s%s_s%p';
    echo } ) | rman target sys/sys12@orcl102and then call the script as:
    c:\> backup.bat backup_directory_name

  • How to checkout from the batch script?

    Hello All !
    Does anybody knows how to maintain versioned files with the batch scripts? Particularly I'm talking about doing a checkout/checkin operations. Are any command-line utilities available? Is it possible at all?
    Regards, Sergey.

    you can get entire table script
    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('TABLE','TABLE_NAME','SCHEMANAME') from dual;
    IT is not possible to get only the partition script
    As it is a part of table definition.
    You can also use the third party tool like 'TOAD' to get the script also.

  • Scripting - Passing and Enterprise variable from script to script

    Hello all,
    We are using UCCX 7.0_SR5
    I am looking to be able to pass a captured variable from one script to another.
    We use a message in queue where a caller waiting in queue can choose to leave a message and then that message is queued back into the sytem for the next available agent. When that agent recieves the message in queue they basically call back out to the customer leaving the message.
    We capture a variable in the first script when they decide to leave a message. The variable holds the call back number that they enter into the system. There is a second script that presents these message in queue calls to the agents. We would like to pass that variable that holds the number enterend by the customer to the second script so that that number appears on CAD in the enterprise data fields. The reason behind this is so the agent has a number to call back in the event they don't reach anyone when the system calls back out and the message left by the customer does not contain a call back number.
    How can I pass that variable from one script to another so it can be presented in CAD for the agents?
    Thanks for any help and let me know if you need any further information.

    You would use a "Get Call Contact Info" step to set your callerID variable, where the "Calling Number" attribute is set to your callerID variable.
