Can we restrict a Procedure to be called only once in a session or package?

Hi,
I am having a procedure which is called for each insert statement.
The code is non-Editable.
So, I want to restrict the procedure to be called only once for the entire session or package.
Could any one please suggest me, can we do this?
Thak you,
Regards,
Gowtham Sen.

Hi,
Actually, I am using OWB tool. I used a procedure with output parameters, to map to the target table. So, OWB creates a package. In that package its calling the procedure for each record.
So, in order to avoid that, can I do any thing else, which would restrict it to call for each record.
Thank you,
Regards,
Gowtham Sen.

    thanks in advanceTake whatever you need out of the getter method(s) and put it in the constructor method of your bean. Then it only get called once. The getter method should only return the value and nothing else i.e. no database calls, calculations or anything else.
    Off topic, perhaps a sticky thread for this topic should be created as I see it being asked numerous times in the last four months.

  • What method is called only once in the life cycle?

    Hello,
    What method is called only once in the life cycle of an Entity Bean and Session Bean?
    Is it ejbRemove()?
    Thanks

    hi,
    ejbCreate() and setSessionContext() are called once by the container after the bean instace is created.when the bean instance goes to pool and again return to ready state to handle client requests these methods r never called .only bussiness methods r called.this is in case of stateless session bean.
    in case of stateful session bean, each bean instance is associated with client.so,when new client requests, new bean instance is created and above 2 methods are called. no pool terminology in case of stateful session bean.
    ejbRemove() is called by the container when it is abt to remove bean instance,so it its obvious tht it is called only once.

  • Restricting FXS ports to internal calls only

    Hi,
    I have recently intalled Call Manager 8.5.1 with a H323 Gateway. On the gateway, I have a number of FXS ports for lobby phones. Is there a way I can restrict these phones to allow only internal calls only? Do I need to use COR lists like in Call Manager express or is there a  more practical way?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
    It sounds like these FXS ports are NOT registered to CUCM 8.5.1?  If they aren't, then yes COR lists is the most pratical way to do this.  You could do a "connection plar xxxx" to a receptionist extension and her her/him forward the calls to the correct extension.

  • How can I restrict certain apps to cellular data only?

    Product Name: iPhone 6
    Product iOS: 8.3
    Background: I listen to Pandora at work through my iPhone 6. My work has pandora traffic blocked through their WiFi network. I want to keep my iPhone connected to the work WiFi because 1) I don't want to turn on and off my WiFi on my phone 2) I want to my email and other apps to use WiFi since they are not blocked.
    Current Workarounds (not a solutions):
    1) Turn off and on WiFi on iPhone 6- This is a pain/hassle and I forget to turn the WiFi back on.
    2) Switching to a different streaming music providers that aren't blocked by work WiFi- I pay for Pandora One and I like this service the best. I really don't want to switch.
    3) Download music to iPhone memory- I pay for Pandora One and I'd like to use it.
    4) Jailbreak- Not sure if this a solution but I'd rather not jailbreak my device.
    Question: How can I restrict certain apps (Pandora) to use cellular data only?
    Best Regards,
    Chasen

    The network settings in iOS are global and do not support assigning specific networks to specific apps. You cannot do what you describe.

  • Custom Render service is called only once, why?

    Hi All,
    I've created a custom render service in order to prepopulate principals name on each step of my process.
    The input form of the process is a Document Form cause users attach files to the form and it is routed to next station with the attachments.
    "Call Render Service only once" checkbox in advanced settings is unchecked.
    When the process is initiated my custom render is invoked fine, but when it reaches the assign task activity the form is opened but no render service is invoked.
    Why is it happens?
    Thanks in advance, Yan.

    Hi Parth,
    I'm writing to the log file every time that my custom service is invoked.
    When I open a form for a first time in workspace I see that it was invoked but when it reaches "assign task" activity and opened again the service is not invoked.
    I have only one form variable.

  • How can I ensure a function is called only once in a query?

    I have a function (in a package) that returns the start date and end date to be used by my query. The query was taking bind variables but when I updated it to use the function calls it slowed down a lot.
    I tried creating an inline view that selects the start and end date and joins with the other table but this does not help. I thought the inline view would only be run once but this is not the case. I have my function print out a value from a sequence and i see that it is called thousands of times.
    Why would the procedure call be so much slower?
    How can I ensure that the function is only called once in the query?
    This is what I currently have:
    SELECT col1, col2
    FROM aTable,
    (SELECT proc.getStartdate startDate,
    proc.getEndDate endDate
    FROM dual) dt
    WHERE aTable.theDate >= dt.startDate
    AND aTable.theDate <= dt.endDate
    Thanks

    They get the begining and ending dates to be used by the query.
    My application uses the Oracle Portal. Each user can select their date range and it is stored as a user preference. The portal API provides funcitons for retrieving the preferences and I have encapsulated it in my procedure so the developers do not need knowledge of the portal. If they just restrict their queries to the dates returned by this function they will get the needed data.
    Our work around as been to pass these date variables around as bind variables.

  • Help: nobody can hear me when i make a call only got i phone 4 today, can anyone help??

    only got i phone 4 today i made 1 call and sound was perfect 2nd call nobody can hear me but i can hear them can anyone help??

    Disregard the post from rossfromdallas. It's spam. As long as you didn't do something to damage the phone, whatever is wrong should be covered under warranty. Take it back to where you got it or make an appointment at your nearest Apple Store.
    But just in case....did you take off the plastic that covers the screen that the iPhone ships with?

  • Can you restrict a user in ASDM to only allow them to log a user out of a VPN session

    We support many clients and we have found that many of them are sharing VPN credentials when logging in via AnyConnect/WebVPN. We were thinking about restricting simultaneous log in to 1. I also know that users may have situations where they lock up a session due to ISP or PC issues and won't be able to connect again until that session drops from the ASA. We would like to enable our helpdesk to log in to the ASA via ASDM and be able to logout a user that has an active connection. This would be in the logging area of the ASA where they could highlight a user and click logout. Is it possible to restrict a user to just this and not allow them to make any other changes to the ASA?

    You should be able to do that. You would create a new privilege level (ie 7), assign all commands to that level except (this is my guess) the command vpn-sessiondb, you would put that at a lower privilege level (ie 6). Here's a write-up that may help getting you in the right direction.

  • How can I restrict a search to one folder only?

    The problem: I have many files with the same designation (i.e., img038.tif -- usually from a scan). I would like to search only within one folder (sometimes with subfolders, as well as files), rather than in my entire computer.
    Is that possible?

  • Calling a setup only once

    CAn anybody help me in this.
    I have a configuration setup which has to be called only once for every user when tomcat is started.
    can anybody suggest me where can i put my code.
    1)in a servlet and call it in web.xml
    2)in my logonaction class
    where can i put it.
    Thanks

    If you need the code to be run once, when the user logs in, then the idea of putting it in a class that gets instantiated, and then stored in the session upon login might be your best (and frankly, easiest) option.

  • Call JCO.ParameterList.setActive() only once?

    In a loop construct where I am calling a JCO.Function over and over again, do I need to call setActive() on the export parameter list and the table parameter list only once to render unnecessary parameters inactive or do I have to do it on each iteration?  Please refer to the code example below:
    void processFunction(JCO.Client connection, String fxName) {
    JCO.Function fx = createFx(fxName);  // some helper method
    JCO.ParameterList epl = fx.getExportParameterList();
    JCO.ParameterList tpl = fx.getTableParameterList();
    deactivateExportParameters(epl);  // Deactive here?
    deactivateTableParameters(tpl);    // Deactive here?
    for (int i = 0; i < count; i++) {
       deactivateExportParameters(epl);  // or here?
       deactivateTableParameters(tpl);    // or here?
       setImportParameters(fx);  // helper method
       connection.execute(fx);
       processResults(fx);  // helper method
    The methods deactivateExportParameters() and deactivateTableParameters() both
    call JCO.ParameterList.setActive() to inactivate export parameters or table parameters
    based on whether they are referred to after the JCO.Function is executed.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jim,
    the setActive method needs to be called only once. It is fired when the Function is created (either called from the Repository or created anew).
    When you want to use the function, call the setActive method before the for loop. If you had been actually creating the functions inside the loop, then you need to call the setActive method also in the loop.
    For e.g -
    JCO.Function fx;
    ParameterList tableParamList;
    for(int looper = 0; looper < 10; looper++)
              fx = createFunction("BAPI_NAME");
              tableParamList = fx.getTableParamList();
              tableParamList.setActive(false, "TABLE_NAME");
    Bye,
    Sameer
