Can WL 8.1 handle http local redirects?

Question

Is Weblogic 8.1 capable of handling redirects? (I.e. I want all traffic incoming as http://mysite.com/abc.html
to be redirected to http://mysite.com/def.html on the same server).
If so, what is the simplest way to accomplish this directly on the webserver?
Any input links to documentation on how to do this would be helpful.

Hi Avery,
Actually I've not seen this done in Weblogic either. That is why I was
directing you to a web server integrating to Weblogic via a plugin
mechanism. Weblogic has the facility to serve web pages, but that is not
it's real purpose. For this kind of detailed configuration control over
http requests you should look into something like the apache web server.
There is a plugin available to connect apache and weblogic server.

about the file being 'damaged'. Anyhow, I understand your point. These PS
systems are actually quite high-txn rate, and uses a logical webserver
paired with a logical app server (tuxedo). Hence, WL isn't acting as an
app server in our case.
I'm sure this re-direct business at the Wl layer is pretty common and not

is accomplished for Weblogic? The real goal is to prevent caching of a
meta html re-direct/refresh on the client browser, but regardless of what
expire or no-cache directives I use, the redirect html is always cached
on the browser. When the LB switches to another logical webserver (because
it perceives a maintenance page has come up, or the application has
failed), then it picks up the same cache file, as it's named the VIP of
the LB. That's why I'm trying to do this at the web layer.
