Can you get a keylogger on an iPad?

Hi, I have an iPad2 and made the mistake of revealing my bank login details to a Spoof bank site by clicking on a link before realising that it was not the real bank's website.  I have taken action to reset all of my bank security settings, and so far so good. From investigations, I believe that the site was recording my ipaddress and other details. I logged on over a 3G sim connection.
My question therefore is, how can I tell whether the process of logging into this spoof site did not also install a key logger or some other malware on my iPad. I am not currently accessing my secure sites on the iPad but would like to once I know that my iPad is still totally secure?

... would like to once I know that my iPad is still totally secure?
Your iPad remains as secure as it has ever been, and you should have no fear of using it to do whatever it is you require.
Users are the weak link in an iPad's security - their actions or inactions, the passwords they choose, the wireless networks they're using, and the sites they visit all have security implications.
Nothing can be installed on an unmodified iPad that did not come from Apple. The most serious threat to your data security is phishing, which is what you succumbed to. It doesn't get any worse than that.
Other than to reveal the very approximate location of the wireless router you were using at the time, IP addresses themselves cannot be used to harvest any personal information.

  • Can you get a virus on an iPad?

My friend and i were on a seedier website and when we played a quicktime file the internet cut out, we were connected but couldn't load any pages. I just turned wifi off then on again and everything works fine now but should i be concerned?

You should only be concerned if keep frequenting the seedier websites because while the iPad will not get a virus it might get a Trojan if you get suckered into download one and giving permission for it to be installed.

  • How can you get the update on an iPad 1

  • Why can you get flash player on my iPad

Why can't I get flash play to download on my iPad 2.  Always says my device will not support.  I can't see some videos on facebook without flash player.

Flash is not available as a browser add on in iOS. Never has been, most likely never will be. Adobe tried, but even with substantial assistance from Apple, could never produce a version that met iOS security standards. And Adobe has ceased development on Flash for mobile altogether (Apple or otherwise). Personally, I did then, and still, applaud Apple's decision. Flash has seriously outlived its usefulness and it is time for web developers and sites to re-work and use another solution.
There are some apps in the appstore that might work for you. Puffin and iSwifter are two. Can't vouch for them first hand, but they are extensively downloaded. You might also check the sites you are visiting and see if they individually have apps available.

Learn how to remove this software.

No you do not have a virus. That is a standard web popup usually, that tres to get up to download a "removal program". The removal program is the virus or similar.

  • If you buy an IPad online would it have an Apple warranty and can you get extended warranty from Apple

If you buy an iPad online would it have an Apple warranty. Can you get extended warranty?

If you buy it from the Apple Online store yes it will have full 1 year warranty, and the possibility to directly buy Apple Care +.
If you buy it from somewhere else, it may not. If the online seller is not an Apple authorized reseller then you may need to take to to an Apple Store for physical inspection before purchasing the Apple Care Plus extension.
If its not sealed and new, the warranty timer may have started to elapse, and it may not be eligible for Apple Care +.
But without knowing where you plan to buy it its hard to say for sure.

  • I updated my iPad to ios 6.1 and now all my notes are gone.  Can you get them back?

I updated my I pad to iOS 6.1 and now all my notes are gone.  Can you get them back?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Offand, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
If these do not solve the problem you can restore from a current iTunes or iCloud backup.

    Hi Gumby694,
You can only get the profile back if you plug into a computer that has the configuration profile in Apple Configurator or get the profile wirelessly from an MDM.
    Hope this answers your question.

    Hi,
Is there an iPhone involved ?
If not, what happens  if you remove the Apple ID on the iPad and then set it in Airplane Mode (allow a couple of minutes at this point) followed by re-adding the Apple ID ?
What, if any error messages are appearing on the Mac when you try to launch the App or Login to the iMessages server ?
Is the Apple ID linked to an iCloud account ?
In Messages 7 (Mountain Lion) this did not seem to be important but it seems it is in Mavericks/Messages 8
