Can you help me to retrieve my applications. In iTunes I accidentally clicked the Restore button in the Summary screen. It restored the original settings and I lost all my applications and don't know if it is possible to retrieve them.

All apps on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
You can re-download all 3rd party apps and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the apps that was used to purchase the app originally.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Do this with iTunes on your computer. After you have re-downloaded every app one by one, select Sync Apps under the Apps tab for the device's sync preferences along with selecting the apps below that you want transferred to the device followed by a sync to re-install the apps on the device.

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.
In case you also used iCloud to back up your data, check this article:

I lost all my pics is there any way to restore them??? Or anyone know how to prevent this?

Did or do you have a back up of your phone? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 that you can restore to?
Also you should import your pics over to your PC, just like you would a ditigal camera as a back up in case something like this happen.
If your answer to both is no, then your pics are gone.

You'll need to connect your iPad to the computer you sync with and restore your iPad as a new device.
Here are some links from Demo which provides all you need to know to do this:
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. You probably need to restore the device. If it was disabled because you forgot the pass code, you will have to restore using recovery mode. As long as you restore with the computer that you always sync with, you will be able to restore from your backup at the very end and you will not lose any data.

• I have an Ipod touch 2nd generation and i just updated it and i lost all my songs and apps. Now i have the 4.2 version but i can even any apps and it wont let me update it again. How can I get my songs back and update my ipod again?

Can anyone awnser this?

- You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
However, you only can download the current version of app.
- For apps your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

• RE: Can you help me - Please?

Gary,
I haven't taken one of his training classes, but he does post mail to the
Forte Users Group frequently.
Here is an e-mail address for Stephen McHenry.
Stephen McHenry [SMTP:[email protected]]
The Forte Users Group has a searchable archive thread:
<URL:http://pinehurst.sageit.com/listarchive/>
Mr. Henry will have multiple Forte Users Group postings recorded there which
detail his Forte Training experience, an OOAD course that his company
offers, as well as helpful information that he has provided to other members
of the Forte Users Group.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm new here. I just signed up because I just found out about the
group
and I'm hoping you can help me.
I just found out that Mark Smith, who usually teaches the design course
at
Forté is not going to be teaching the next one. From what I've been
told,
Mark is the only one left who was trained by the original author of the
course how to teach it right. I guess there were others, but they've all
left Forté by now. If this is true, that means that the upcoming course
is
going to be taught by some untrained stand-in. I just think it's real
crappy that Forté is trying to keep all this quiet until after you can't
drop out of the course and get your money back.
I'm tired of getting second rate instructors for training course that we
spend good money for. I understand that the expert - the guy that wrote
the
course - still teaches. Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with
him?
I've been told his name is Stephen McHenry and that he's totally the
best
instructor for this stuff.
Also, does anyone know why he stopped teaching for Forté?
If anybody can help me, I'd really appreciate it.

Ian --
I agree wholeheartedly with your reply. There are countless many qualified for
such a course and not just working for Forte either, although thats a good
place to start.

Don't you think you are being a little unfair?
Forte has many employees who are more than capable of teaching the
design course not all of whom where taught by the original author.
Good teachers will use their own experiences when presenting
a course and not simply present the thoughts of others.
The Forte design course specifically focuses on the issues of designing
large scale distributed applications an area where I would hope all Forte
employees have significant experience. However much of the design
course is not unique to Forte presenting as it does the best industry
practice
borrowing ideas from Jacobson, Booch and Rumbaugh among others.
These skills can and have been acquired by consultants and trainers prior
to joining Forte and Forte is a much richer company for this input.

I haven't heard of any similar message before. In your "More system details..." it lists two different Adobe PDF plugins, version 8 and version 9. You may have a conflict there, especially if the older one isn't disabled. You could try to disable it here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Add-ons > Plugins category
If that doesn't help... Adobe Reader and the plugin have been updated to version 10. but Are you willing to upgrade Adobe Reader to see whether that fixes the problem?

• Can you help? I lost my code and can't pay for a song.

I have $8.51 in itunes but can't use it because I don't have my code. Can you help me please?
Thanks

Pressing "Yes" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in this iTunes unfortunately does exactly what it says. If you linked to an iTunes with only a few or completely different songs it will have erased your original iPod song list. There are some data recovery programs on the market. I've no personal experience of them so I can't say how effective they are, here's an example: iPod Data Recovery</a
None of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks which you will have to pay to download again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.

• Yesterday, as today's deadline for filing tax returns approached, I was paralyzed by the inability to create new IRS PDF forms and to retrieve archived ones from a year ago. My computer went crazy. 24 hours later, I am still paralyzed. Can you help?

My computer went crazy yesterday on two occasions involving PDF documents. One dealt with attachments to an email from a bona fide corporation. The other dealt with IRS PDF forms & schedules needed for today's submission.
As both dealt with PDF and had nothing else in common, I suspected my PC had a virus. When I asked a local store technician, he agreed. I turned to Norton, which protects my PC from viruses, and after a few hours of really thorough searching, the computer was found to have no viruses.
Before describing what I call "crazy" computer behavior, you need to know that I have long had IE8 as my default browser but a few weeks ago switched to Mozilla Firefox because IE8 had beome incompatible with some websites from which I get information.
When I received the email from AT&T email service and clicked the first of four icons representing attachments, there was figuratively an explosion on my monitor: a series of new tabs, each called New Tab, burst onto the monitor--but no text or picture. The new tabs appeared faster than I coul kill them. I finally decided just to shut down the computer, hoping they would not reappear when I restarted. I was wrong. After 2 repeats, I decided to forget about the attachments and asked the sender to send them to me by regular mail.
That was no solution for my IRS PDFs. I wanted to complete filling in the various forms and schedules that I had begun months ago so that I could mail them today to the IRS (without having to copy them all in ink). When I tried to open the first one, BOOM. The same thing happened: the blizzard of New Tabs atop blank pages; my IRS form or schedule did not show up. Did the same shutdown/restart routine with the same results.
When I looked at the list of current forms that had to be completed, I noticed something very strange: the icons that began the listing of the documents' names were replaced one by one by Mozilla icons. When I moused over them, they said Firefox HTML. Why?
Starting the day today, I had the same experience. What's more, when I started to retrieve 2012 IRS PDFs from a year ago, the same New Tab tabs appeared and had to be killed, and Mozilla icons replaced whatever icon was there before.
Assuming that the problem arose with Adobe Reader's reading of the PDFs, I contacted Adobe but got no helpful phone number because PDFs are a free service and was directed to use this Forum to get help.
What do I have to do to (a) read and use PDFs in the normal way and (b) remove the Mozilla icon from those that have appeared on icon documents. If Mozilla is the source of the problem, shall I go back to IE8? (In my 80s, I want eventually to replace my old computer but for the time being I must continue using it. It will not take an IE9. Anther possible default browser would be Google Chrome, but I have unfavorable impressions of it because of its intrusiveness, loading my PC with stuff I do not need.
Can you help?

The problem is absolutely not Reader. The problem is that FireFox has stepped in front of Reader and handles all the PDF stuff - wrongly in your case. FireFox is DESIGNED to take over PDF files. But it is not capable of doing IRS forms!
To start with go back to IE for these forms. When you save them to disk DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK ON THEM until this is fixed. Just open the in the normal way - start Adobe Reader and use Open from the File menu.

Hi There
Am having a big problem updating my iphone 4 Apps, due to a problem with my password for my apple id. But it seems that i have two different ids, one for the updates and another for the downloads. I am not able to retrieve my Id password for updating my Apps. Can you help me ps?
Thank you

What program did you use to fix the internal hard drive? What repairs did it report making? More crucially, if repairs were reported, did you re-run the utility until it reported no problems found? It's possible for one set of problems with a drive to mask others.
If you have about 5GB or so free space on the internal hard drive, you can use your OS X Install disc to perform an Archive and Install to recover from the failed Software Update. When the computer restarts, download and run the OS X Update Combo 10.4.11 (Universal). When the Mac restarts after that, run Software Update. During all this, make sure nothing interrupts or shuts down the Mac! Note that the first start after each of these updates will take significantly longer than subsequent starts, so be very patient.
How did you back up your internal drive to the external one? Did you just drag things over in the Finder, or did you use a utility such as SuperDuper! or CarbonCopyCloner? Does the external HD show up as a bootable volume in System Preferences > Startup Disk, or using Startup Manager?
