Can you resize a encrypted disk image on a sparsebundle disk image?

I created a 50GB encrypted sparsebundle disk image on my desktop. I named it BOB and also named the encrypted disk image BOB.
It's now full.
I've just made it 60GB with Disk Utility.
I opened it but on trying to copy a 4GB file into it, I got a message saying my sparsebundle disk image is too small.
Note: Disk Utility says the following:
BOB sparsebundle is 61.4GB
mounted volume BOB is 52.1GB
Hope that's clear.
Any help would be most appreciated.

I created a 50GB encrypted sparsebundle disk image on my desktop.
hdiutil resize -size 60g BOB.sparsebundle
Result: "resize failed. File or directory does not exist"
You need to tell hdiutil where to find the target BOB.sparsebundle file. You could either specify a relative or absolute file path in the command itself, or else you could first change the current working directory to the Desktop. So if you wanted to pursue using Terminal, the second way would be to enter this command:
cd ~/Desktop
and then try the same hdiutil command again.
I'm not familiar with the hdiutil command, and I don't know if the above would work. My own feeling is that trying to manipulate an image file by experimenting with hdiutil entails a risk of corrupting the image file and losing its contents, and it is therefore essential to back up the image file first. But if you are going take the time and space needed for a backup, you might as well instead just create a new, empty 60GB (or larger!) sparsebundle disk image, and copy the contents of your old disk image into the new one. This would not involve any risks, and you'd end up with the larger disk image that you wanted. You could then delete the original, if you wished.

  • Can you resize

Can you resize a photo, to a custom size, on Photoshop  touch for phone or tablet?

using the "image size" option under the & button you can access a resize dialog.
this dialog allows you to choose a new width and height in pixels, and gives you an option whether to maintain proportions.
if you wish to resize an image without resizing the "canvas" this can be done using the "transform" option under the & button.

Open the Inspector (blue i in the menu bar) and click on the Document tab in the upper left. At the bottom you can select a slide size from the drop-down menu, or specify your own size by selecting Custom...
Everything you need is in the Inspector!

  • Can you resize a pic in iphoto?

Wondering, can you resize a pic in iphoto? I didnt really see that option. I finally figured out that i had to click the "i" (information) icon to see the pic size, ex: 1240x526...that kind of thing. I was on a windows PC for the last 13 years and i would edit my pics in the paint program. I would take all pics and resize them to 50% both vertically and horizontally. I did this for 2 reasons, A.) i didnt need the monsterous file size for what i was doing. And, B.) to save space on the computer and the flash drive i saved my pics too. Id love to be able to do the same on my mac mini in iphoto....is it possible to resize in the fashion i described above, by precentage? Thanks so much. O

  • Can you resize a hwnd to fit a web browser?

I have created a piece of code which takes the handle of the globe image in Google Earth and placed it within a web browser but I need to either shrink the hwnd of the image to a certain size of web browser or somehow zoom into the centre of the hwnd. Can anybody help?

    Hi Paul Ellam,
can you explain a bit more please? Maybe you can show what you have done so far. You can't shrink a hwnd. It's a pointer to your image.

  • HT204364 Can you make a puzzle from a photo or have the image printed on a cup as a gift or do I order this elsewhere? Thanks.

Can you make a puzzle from a photo?  I'd like this.  Also, can you have a photo transposed on a cup?

Yes, there are websites that can do what you want.  You just have to do a Google search for what you want.

  • Can you synchronize an Encrypted DB

We're implementing an Oracle 10g lite solution that will be used to enter and store sensitive health information so obviously security is going to be vital.
    My question is:
If we encrypt the Oracle lite db do we have to decrypt it before synching with the mobile server? Or can the synching process handle an encrypted database?
I've done some preliminary testing with a sample application and it seems that you have to decrypt the db before synching for it to succeed.
I know it would be a relatively simple process to decrypt the db – do a synch and then encrypt again but the synchronization is being built into our application and we don’t much scope to change the application at this point in time.
I hope this makes sense, thanks.

When you set it up you would have designated an initial capacity. It should expand once that capacity would be exceeded. Sparse images are what Time Machine uses and what is used for the Time Capsule and other network storage devices.

  • Can you Resize Wallpaper to Fit - iPhone 6

Short of redoing the measurements and/or font sizes of a self-created wallpaper jpeg created in Photoshop, is there a way, right on the iPhone 6, to slightly scale or recenter the wallpaper? There was such a scale/move option on my 4 running IOS7, but I can't seem to find a similar command on the 6 running IOS 8

    Actually, no, rbrylawski.
When I chose a self-created jpeg, and tried to pinch it smaller, it does go smaller, as long as I hold the pinch. The minute I let go, it springs back to the size that's a bit too big for the iPhone 6 screen. I can spread my fingers outward (zoom) and make it as big as I like, and it stays big when I let go. Doing that also causes "Perspective Zoom" to turn from off to "on." I can also move the image off center in all 4 directions, and it will stay where I leave it.
But then pinching it down to a size where the whole jpeg fits into the screen (causing "Perspective Zoom" to turn "off" again) it will spring back to too big as soon as I let go. Seems like if you start with a jpeg that's too small, you can easily zoom up, but for a jpeg that's too big, you have to resize in a graphics program to exactly the iPhone's screen size or your screwed.

  • Can you resize the resolution?

I took my pictures at 5 megapixels but I want to resize the resolution to about 1 megapixels without cropping my pictures, is there any way to do this in iPhoto?

    > How does Lightroom adjust images to fit a given paper size?
During export - see "constrain size".
    > Also, Is there any way to set a crop size before actually cropping?
Just set a 4x6 ratio and then constrain the size during export. If you do this a lot you can create a 4x6 export preset, for example.

  • Can you create a boot Camp partition on a Fusion Disk?

Can I install a BootCamp partition on a fusion disc?
Can I install a BootCamp partition (Wndows 7) on a 1 TB on which OSX mac Yosemite or Mavericks has been installed first? I have a 2012 MacBook Pro, that already has a 400 GB Boot Camp partition, but I am considering replacing it with a fusion disc or an SSD since I shall have to install a windows compatible medical dictation application that could use a speedier disc. Will Mac OS and Windows interfere with each other on the SSDpart of a large fusion disc ( 1 TB) if I switch back and forth from rebooting on Mac OS , then on Windows and vice-versa? Does the SSD part of the fusion disc get confused, and will the fusion disc tolerate the installation pf a Boot Camp partition in the first place, or just give a stretch of plain 5400 RPM disc without the SSD part ?Can I

    1. On single-disk Macs, you can use an SSHD (as a single physical disk), but not an SSD/HDD. There is a no single physical unit which is a Fusion drive. A Fusion drive consists of a physical SSD and a physical HDD. MBPs on which the Optibay has an SSD/HDD and main bay with SSD/HDD will support a Fusion (aka CoreStorage volume). Yosemite supports a Fusion drive, which has an internal SSD and and external HDD (the reverse makes no sense, but is possible).
    2. On newer Macs, with 1TB PCIe flash, you have an SSD as your whole drive.
    3. The two environments, OS X and Windows are self-contained,  on separate partitions. The underlying hardware is common.
    4. On a Mini, which supports two drives, I have a 256g SSD/1TB HDD, in a DIY Fusion drive, with Windows on the SSD part. Bootcamp Assistant does not support this, but third-party tools can be used. The other option is to install OS X and Windows on a SSD, and later add an HDD and include into a CS volume. This is what I would recommend for you.
    5. The 13-in 2012 MBP will allow you use a USB installer, without the need for an Optical drive, so it is possible to replace the Optibay with an HDD, create a Fusion drive. If BCA is used, it will put Windows on the HDD on this specific machine if the Fusion drive is created first.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 question...Can you resize a photo to email smaller??

I can not figure this out? I am new to Adobe and I can not figure out if you can resize to email the picture smaller?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks
    Jennifer

ugh! I just don't see what you are talking about...I messed around a bit, and I ended up having to update something with the elements browser? Anyway, now I have a different format of how my pictures show up. On the right side of the screen is where I have the share button and I am able to send thru there, but then I have to enter some verification code and I keep trying but it does not send one to me thru the email.  I have the email address correct. but no code comes? Any ideas

  • Can you resize the inspector window in FCPX 10.1.3

I am using FCP X 10.1.3 the trial version to check it out. I am running it on an iMac mid 2011 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 with a 27 in screen. When i go into the inspector the window is (of course) way to the right as you look at the monitor and what i consider small. I have tried everything that i know of and it just seems that i can not make that window any bigger. There is no "seam" for the mouse to drag and resize that i can find.  I can resize all the other windows but not the inspector. Is it even possible in this version?

From the FCP X menu,  use FinalCut Pro>Provide Final Cut Pro Feedback to submit a feature request.

  • Can you resize external movies??

    Here is exaclt what Im doing;
I have a movie clip that acts as a button on the stage. When
you rollover the movieclip, it displays a video. That is the video
was created as a seperate file.
So, I have to use the loadMovie command to display the video.
I originally created the video at 172 x 52 resolution, so it can
fit "behind" the movie clip that acts as a button.
So basically when you rollover it the video starts playing.
    The problem is this;
I rollver and the external movie is loaded and starts playing
except for the fact that the width of the external movie is
stretched out..I dont get it. Is there a way I can load the .swf
file in and then resize it? I am calling the movie in by using a
empty movie clip. So the empty movie clip sits on the stage and on
rollover the .swf is loaded in to display on rollover of the
mc_button I have. If anyone wants an example of what is going on,
please let me know I will post something here as example.
Thanks alot in advance, I am stumped at the moment!

"Is there a way I can load the .swf file in and then resize
    it?"
    Use
    MovieClipLoader.onLoadInit
and do the resizing in the onLoadInit method. You can consider
using _xscale and _yscale or using the drawing API to draw a
rectangle with or without a 0 alpha value to resize the outer
    dimensions.

  • Can you add your own designed frames, a psd file, to images in Aperture 3 and save this action to repeat?

Hi, i'm an event photoger and trying to figure out the least expensive way to process numerous 5x7 images with a predesigned psd template/frame for print. All the images will have the same frame on it as well be the same size. Current process is too put each individual image into the psd template and print. Trying to find a way to automate/batch this action.

Check out the Border FX plug-in for Aperture.  It's free.  If it can do what you want, then you can just select the border preset on export and go have an espresso.
