Cannot build executable for VI

During the build, I get the following message:
"A name collision occurred during the build.  VIs were renamed to protect the build.  If any dynamic calls were made to the following VI(s), unexpected behavior may occur:"
Initially, it doesn't list any VI.
Then, I start getting the following pop messages for which I have to select OK or CANCEL:
"A VI with the same name from 'C:\proj\systemLab\systemLabview\builds\ConverterTestPrj\ConverterTest\internal1.llb\MC_Version.vi' is already in memory.  It will be used instead of the selected VI."  [The 'C:\proj\systemLab\systemLabview\builds\ConverterTestPrj' path is what I selected as the destination in the app specification]
I clicked o.k., and continued to get the same pop for the following VIs (all in the internal1.llb file):
Write DBL 1D.vi
MathScriptInitialization.vi
Read DBL.vi
MC_Symbol_Table_Public_Dispose_UID.vi
MergeErrorsWrapper.vi
I clicked ok on all of them  (actually, I tried at another time clicking CANCEL on all of them, and still saw the same issue).
The build then apparently successfully completes, and now in the build window, there is a VI to go along with the message I copied at the top of this message:
'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\Analysis\Matrix\Support\ComplexMatrix\Methods\Numeric.llb\Multiply - CM,C.vi'.
I try and run the created VI, and get the following message:
"The VI is not executable.  The full development version of Labview is required to fix the errors".
I have the professional development system.  I was hoping someone out there has seen something similar and could help me.

Go into the build folder and delete the program's file folder and it will go away.
This is just when you have already built the program before and its finding that it already has done it once. Don't worry about it.

    Hi Ya-hoo,

  • Cannot build executable

When I try to build an executable I get an error saying a vi is not executable when in fact it is working fine. Sometimes the error is this instead:
NI-488: Command requires GPIB Controller to be Controller in Charge.
    or
LabVIEW: An input parameter is invalid.

    Dear kyle99,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
To address your question, it may be necessary for you to include more information such as:
Where do these errors occur? At which VIs?
    What are the error numbers?
Why do you think these errors occur?
What do you do differently to receive other errors?
What are you trying to do with your application?
Are you using more than one device?
Are you using VISA writes and reads?
    Are you doing File I/O?
Also include anything else you think is pertinent. I've included some links you can search on these topics. Also, you'll find information at ni.com/support if you click on Troubleshooting on the left, then KnowledgeBase, then "Search All Entries" for these errors.
    Let me know
if you have any further information or if this resolves your issue.
Thanks again and have a great day!

    Hi,
Grid control software for solaris is only 32bit. It is the agent where you can have choices if you have 64bit Solaris. And for agents also solaris64 version 10.2.0.2 is available.
Can you mention the source from where you downloaded 64 bit grid control source (10.2.0.4)?

  • Cannot make executable jar file for swt application

hi to all!!! i have started learning swt library and it seems nice to me, but i have one problem, i cannot run my application. The problem is that i cannot make executable jar for it.
i'm using ecilpse_3.1.2 and have pluggined the visual editor for swt! yesterday i found one topic where was described the process of making the swt executable jar, i followed the instructions in the topic, but didn't resolve my problem, so if anybody knows how to achieve this , please help!!!!!!
the instructions in the mentioned topic are :
    1. Make sure the SWT jar file is included in the Eclipse project build path
    a. Download the standalone SWT jar file from eclipse.org even if you already have the ones that come with Eclipse. It is called ?swt.jar? and you will package it with the executable JAR. Make sure it is the same version of SWT that you used to make your program.
    b. In Eclipse, import swt.jar via Project Properties::Java Build Path::Libraries::Add External JARs. (Make sure to include the source .zip file). Also make sure to select the swt package in the ?Order and Export? tab.
    c. At this point, you should be able to compile and run your SWT application in the Eclipse SDK.
    2. Do a standard Eclipse jar file export
    a. Right click on the main .java project file and select ?Export??.
    b. Choose ?JAR File? from the list.
    c. Select the relevant packages and .classpath and .project resource files
    d. Make sure ?Export generated class files and resources? is selected and browse to the location where you want the JAR file to be created.
    e. Specify ?Generate the manifest file? and don?t seal the JAR or any packages. Choose the class containing the main method as the ?Main class?.
    3. Change the manifest file
    a. Navigate to the JAR file you created and open it with WinZip.
    b. Open the MANIFEST.MF file inside and copy the contents.
    c. Create a new file called ?MANIFEST.MF? and paste in the contents of the old manifest file.
    d. Add the line ?Class-Path: <swt jar file path>?. For simplicity, you can just keep a copy of the swt.jar file in the same folder as the executable jar, in which case, the line is ?Class-Path: swt.jar?. Make sure there is a carriage return after the last line in the manifest file, or that line will not be parsed.
    4. Replace the manifest file
    a. Make sure the manifest file and the executable jar are in the same folder.
    b. Open the command prompt and navigate to the containing folder.
    c. Enter the command ?jar umf MANIFEST.MF <executable jar name>? to update the manifest file with the class path information.
    5. Package the JAR with SWT files
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows.
    b. The JAR file should now successfully execute. On Windows, you can usually just double click the JAR file in explorer and it will open. If that does not work, the command ?java ?jar <executable jar name>? on the command line has the same effect.
but a few steps aren't exact for me , for example : first, which jar i have to include in build path : downloaded or from plugins folder, second
i have to incude source.zip too??? but it is only in downloaded zip file which includes both swt.jar and src.zip, and finally can anyone clarify next :
"5. Package the JAR with SWT files
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows."
what does this mean, put these in folder or make jar from them????

    wolve634 wrote:
but a few steps aren't exact for me , for example : first, which jar i have to include in build path : downloaded or from plugins folder, secondTry it both ways. If neither works, then ask again. In a suitable forum, though. An Eclipse forum or an SWT forum or something related to where you got those instructions would make a lot more sense than asking here.
i have to incude source.zip too???No, of course you don't have to distribute the source code.
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows."
what does this mean, put these in folder or make jar from them????It says "Put (them) in the same folder". You're asking whether that means to put them in a folder? Yes, it does.

You want a .exe at a guess, search the forums.
All the regs. have answed this many many many times, and some very good answers exist on the forums.
Normally, when people ask this, they really need to read:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jar/
    http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/
But sometime (not very ofton) a ".exe" is needed:
    http://gcc.gnu.org/java/
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html
under windows using usual Java tools, e. g. ant or
something like this?Sure, make a new task. For GCJ this would be very easy.
    2) if I'm using VS.NET I can't compile files wich
import javax. ... etc. classes, what I should to in
order to import them? Are you compiling to .NET or to Java Byte Code.
If its Java Byte Code, I have no idea, if its .NET the below might work
    http://classpath.org

  • What jars are necessary when building an Executable for JAXB??

I'm using JWSDP-1.2. I get the following error when I try to run my executable: DefaultValidationEventHandler: [FATAL_ERROR] Document root element is missing. I was curious which jars are necessary when making an executable for JAXB. So far I have: 1)dom.jar, 2) jaxb-api.jar, 3) jaxb-impl.jar, 4)jaxb-libs.jar, 5)jaxb-xjc.jar, 6)jax-qname.jar, 7)namespace.jar, 8)relaxngDatatype.jar, 9)sax.jar, 10)xalan.jar, 11)xercesImpl.jar, 12)xsdlib.jar . Are there any jars I'm missing? I thought I might be getting the error due to a missing class. I've made sure that the XML document is readable and that it exists. The application runs fine in Eclipse, but when I make an executable I get the ERROR message.

I'll have to read up on the doctype stuff, but I don't have anything like that included. Is it necessary? I read from the same XML document when I run inside Eclipse and also read the same document when I run the jar.

    Hi Hooi,
I'd like to know whether you can build successfully in your local machine with MSBuild. You have to build succeed with MSBuild beore you can build with TFS Build since TFS build use MSBuild as its default compiler.
From the error message, you might build with wrong platform for your project. Please check if the build platfrom is proper. If you have customization of your build process template, it would be better to elaborate the reproduce steps and customization details.
    Best regards,

    In your config.log:
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmswsock
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lws2_32
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lole32
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -loleaut32
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpsapi
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lversion
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ladvapi32
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lwinmm
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lkernel32
Try find these files which package provides!
Edit: maybe package 'wine' provides this but as I see these libs are in /usr/lib/wine.

  • [SOLVED]C compiler cannot create executables DUE TO MISSING DEV. PACKS

Hi there, I was trying to build "lib32-libpcap" from AUR using yaourt when the gcc(?) reported an error as following:
    ==> Starting build()...
    checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
    checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
    checking target system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
    checking for gcc... gcc -m32
checking for C compiler default output file name...
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
    See `config.log' for more details.
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...

Am running a up-to-date x64 Arch with [multilib] enabled; perhaps it's a silly mistake I made somewhere but I'm no dev and so cannot figure out what went wrong in the config.log....please help with your kindness and thanks in advance!

Well...at least as up-to-date as on March 2nd(when I did last system-wide upgrade); trying to update system tonight to see whether this works.

Nope I didn't enable [testing]; I've discovered some packages in [multilib], namely gcc-multilib or something similar(with the -multilib subfix) and some of these packages belong to the group "multilib-devel". Is installing these packages a must for compiling 32-bit packages?

  • Issues installing ruby 1.9.3 - error: C compiler cannot create executables

I am trying to install ruby 1.9.3 on my Macbook pro but I've run into a wall.
    Here are the essentials;
    OS: OS X 10.7.3
    Xcode: 4.3
When I run the rvm command I get the following...
    "rvm install 1.9.3"

Installing Ruby from source to: /Users/vindigo/.rvm/rubies/ruby-1.9.3-p125, this may take a while depending on your cpu(s)...

Another suggestion I received was to use the following command...
    "rvm install 1.9.3 --with-gcc=clang"
but I get the same results.
At this point I've exhausted my options and I am not sure what to try next, other than starting from scratch and reloading the entire OS.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Phew!  That was harrowing.
Found this, and it solved the problem.  Refreshingly, it was written in English and done well at that!

Follow all the instructions.  The main missing ingredient for me was downloading the developer tools for the command line from Apple.  I had to register there, but it was free. These tools seemed to install the compiler where it was needed.  You might need a github something or other, I don't know.  I think I downloaded it as some point.  Anyway, I did everything this author told me, and now I have my first rails app!  Good luck - Joel
