Cannot connect iiop through Firewall(NAT enabled).

I am using following products.
- iPlanet Web Server 5.0 [in DMZ]
- SunONE Application Server 7.0 [in Trust]
- Firewall(NetScreen)
=========
I deploy EJB application to app server and web server.
But, it don't run collectry. IIOP connection from
web server to app server is dropped by FW.
Because web server's web-app try to connect app server
by using local address(not NATted address).
Web-app's setting is NATted address.
Does anyone know answer?

I uninstalled the
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2574819
and it resumed working for me as well as I had exactly the same issue here.
there is a point though: removing this KB removes the UDP connection capability of RDP 8.0; arguably the most significant breakthrough the RDP 8 has to offer. shouldn't it be addresses and the problem handled in a better way?
if RDS Team claim that they've brought all the "adaptive network", "adaptive graphics" , "WAN enhancement" and etc to Windows 7 with the RDP 8 update(see links below), then shouldn't it be as available and as glitch-free as
it is with a windows 8 VM?
basically it is unacceptable to force the client to turn off the "automatic determine" feature ; either manually or through the RD-ConnectionBroker tweak of the following link (Jeroen Link):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2863663
because if it is a supported feature, it has to be supported without IFs and BUTs. this is definitely a bug that needs to be addresses.
RDP 8 for windows 7 links:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2592687
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2012/10/09/remote-desktop-protocol-8-0-update-for-windows-7-sp1-enabling-a-great-wan-user-experience-for-windows-7-sp1-virtual-desktops.aspx
another thing I noticed : with RDP 8 features enabled, you don't get the event ID 2 as this link suggests anymore:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff817587
maybe you'll get event 34 as this one says. but I am not quite sure:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/16652.remotefx-vgpu-setup-and-configuration-guide-for-windows-server-2012.aspx
P.S. I am using 2012R2 Hyper-V and it does have this problem as well, so I don't think that compatibility roll up update will help.

  • RMI Connection Refused through Firewall

    Hi,
I am having problems making an RMI connection through a firewall. On the server outside the firewall I have my servlet application running in an OC4J container and inside the firewall I have an EJB listening on port 6666. I have setup the firewall to allow connections through on port 6666. If I telnet from the machine outside the firewall on port 6666 I am able to make a connection to the EJB. So I know the firewall has been setup to handle the connection.
I run the servlet application and when it tries to make the connection it gives an error:
javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused; nested exception is:
    java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
When I do a snoop on the external machine to see what data is trying to be sent to the internal machine there is no data. When doing the telnet test there was data.
I have the same servlet application deployed on a machine internally and it is able to make a connection to the EJB. The only problem is either the configuration of the application server on the external machine or the firewall configuration.
Anyone able to help me see what I am missing?
    Thanks
    Shawn Clark

not sure what you mean by having a 'EJB listening' on port 6666. Do you mean actually having a socket listening within the EJB code? If so then that is a suspicious EJB activity.
If not then i guess you mean the ORMI listening port of the OC4J application. This is normally set on port 23791 to allow the RMI communication to flow.

  • Cannot connect when wireless security is enabled

I have a linksys wrt54g ver.6 wireless router. My Dell laptop running vista can connect wirelessly to the internet just fine when I have wireless security disabled on my wrt54g router.
When I enable security (I tried WEP) the network connection on my laptop fails and I see this message in vista’s “Connect to a network” window:
"The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"
Any ideas on how to fix this?   Thanks!!!

Open network & sharing center ..... click manage wireless networks
Configure the wireless settings manually .....

  • Cannot connect socket through socks proxy

    Hi,
I'm having problems connecting a socket through a socks proxy. I'm using the Apache Commons FTPClient, which I understand uses the standard java.net.Socket:
      System.setProperty("socksProxyHost", proxyUrl);
      System.setProperty("socksProxyPort", proxyPort);
      FTPClient ftp = new FTPClient();
      try {
        ftp.connect(url);
...When I run this, the whole thing just hangs. However, using a standalone FTP client (SmartFTP) configured with the same settings works fine.
Analysing the network traffic (using Ethereal) reveals the following:
Frame 4 off the successful connection (SmartFTP) contains ethernet, IP, TCP and Socks data. The socks data is 9 bytes long and looks perfectly normal.
Frame 4 of the unsuccessful connection contains the same 4 data segments, but the socks data is only 1 byte long and contains only the socks version number. Ethereal reports this as "Unreassembled Packet (incorrect TCP checksum)".
Is there anything I'm missing here? I've tried setting the proxy information on the command line when I run the test (java -DsocksProxyHost=proxy -DsocksProxyPort=1080) but that appeared to make no difference.
Any pointers much appreciated, as I'm really stumped here!
    Thanks

    hi baarney,
I am not very clear what you mean. Could you tell me more about it because
I have the same problem. And after connecting for a long time, I received this message "Malformed message from SOCKS server"

  • I cannot load PayPal through firefox, despite enabling cookies

Up until a few weeks ago, I could use PayPal on my laptop. Now the site won't load at all, although I can access it in the internet cafe. I have tried clearing browsing history and cookies, and specifically enabling cookies. I also upgraded firefox (not sure this was a good move) but nothing has helped. I have had similar experiences with Betfair, where the site will load, but certain pages on the site won't, and again, it isn't the site, it's the browser. Advice please.

Why can't you access it? What happens exactly when you go to http://iCloud.com and login?
What version of Safari and Firefox are you using on what version of OS X?

  • I want to use Messages on my computer with my phone number, however my phone is broken and I cannot connect it through there, is there another way to do it?

I am missing a lot of iMessages from people and it is very frustrating. The only reason I would use Messages on my computer is when my phone is broken... Shouldn't there be another way to link my phone number?

If your phone is registered with iMessage you should be able to open the Messages app on your Mac, go to Messages>Preferences>Accounts, select your iMessage account, then sign in with the same ID you were using for iMessage on your phone and your phone number will appear as an option to receive iMessages from.  If you phone isn't already registered with iMessage your phone number won't be an option until it is.

  • Client connecting through firewall

    Hi
We have two clustered servers. Our client is connecting through
firewall NAT. When iam connect to first server the response is very slow and
at the same time clustering is not working. If i stop the second server the
              response fast .
The same configaration is working fine when my client is local.
Can you explain the reason for this problem ?
Presently iam using weblogic 6.1 version.
              Thank you

OK I spoke too soon. The user looked like it was working but it was working because it matched another IAS policy further down the list. It seems as though the PIX refuses to use ms-chap of any sort. If I include the authentication type in the VPN policy conditions as ms-chap, it skips the VPN policy I am using to authenticate this. If I remove it, then it gives an invalid authentication type as if whatever the PIX is sending the IAS server does not understand as ms-chap.
It seems like the PIX authentication is totally wrong for use with IAS. What else do I need to add to this configuration to gewt it to work with ms-chap of any kind? I really don't get it.

  • Remote Desktop Connection - cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled

    Hello,
I try to connect via RDP from a Windows Server 2008 R2 to another 2008 R2 Server.
I always get the error message.
The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled and the remote computer requires than authentication be enabled to connect.
On the target machine the Remote Settings are set to:
Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop.
Firewall is disabled on both servers.
Therefor I do not understand why I get an error message, that authentication is required.
The target box is a nearly fresh syspreped machine with all current Hotfixes installed.
I already found a lot of people having that problem by using XP (old RDP client), but no one seems to have this problem when connecting from 2008 R2 to 2008 R2.
Thank you very much in advance for every hint.
    BR
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
First I would like to confirm if you have deployed RDS (Remote Desktop Services) and you got the error, if so, please check this option
TS Configuration, >> RDP-Tcp Properties >> change the Security Layer to "Negotiate"
Then Recycle the TS Gateway service.
    Refer to:
Unable to connect to Server using the Remote Web Workplace (RWW) Small Business Server 2008
If this issue has nothing to do with RDS, and I suppose you used the cmd "mstsc" to remote access. This issue may also occur because of the version of mstsc, please make sure it has been upgraded to the new version.
In addition, Did you have another newer server available like Server 2012? So we can test and try to use Server 2012 to remote access Server 2008 R2, and check if the issue persists.
If there is anything else regarding this issue, please feel free to post back.

  • Linksys WAG54GS Router - iBook G4 Cannot Connect When Encryption Enabled

Hi - I have a HP laptop and Apple iBook G4 with a wireless connection transmitted through a Linksys Wireless router. When encryption is disabled, the iBook can pick up a signal and I can browse the internet, when WEP encryption is enabled, it cannot. The HP works fine. I add the WEP key to the iBook but it cannot connect. I've tried the two 128bit encryption options and the standard option, but none of them allow a connection. Is there a specific way to secure your internet connection/router when using an Apple? Any ideas/comments appreciated.
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)
    iBook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Flames1977, Welcome to the discussion area!
Hopefully the information in KB 106250, Mac OS X, AirPort: Connecting to Third-Party Base Stations will help.
Also if the Linksys has several locations for keys, make sure that your WEP key is in location #1. Apple does not support any other location.

I am unable to access my iTunes store through my iTunes account. Every time I have tried it gives me an error ' cannot, connect to iTunes'

check to see if you are online
check to see if you can access secured websites (https) on your computer / device
if this is on a computer with windows configuring your antivirus / firewall to not block itunes some times will help, also resetting your tcp/ip might fix it (open command prompt as an administrator, type: "netsh reset winsock" hit enter, restart computer

I just purchased an Apple TV MD199LL/A, got it connected to my internet.  I can go to Youtube and watch videos.  I'm able to access Netflix.  All seems well except I cannot connect to my iTunes account.  I have gone through the list - home sharing is set correctly on both iTunes and my Apple TV.  The userid is correct on both.
Message "Loading prodrigu's library" and then "Could not connect to prodrigu's library".
I had this same problem when I installed the REMOTE application on my ipad.  Everything on the list was affirmative, but had the same problem not being able to connect to my iTunes.
What is missing?  Is there a firewall setting that could be causing this?

I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked.  To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open.  It also needs to be on the same network.  My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not.  He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band.  Hope this helps.

  • Design Standard CS3 for Mac - cannot update either through installers or through "update' button - message: cannot connect to internet

    Hello:
    Hoping someone can help me.
    I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
I use the Design Standard CS3 Adobe suite.
    I have the following issues:
    1. CANNOT update from Illustrator CS3 13 to 13.0.2.
    - If I try hitting the update button through the Illustrator menu I get the error message " Cannot connect to the Internet. Please check your settings and/or firewall" .
    - I try using the standalone updater recommended as a fix in the forums, that says update failed as well.
Have uninstalled. re installed, clean installed CS3 about 5-7  times so far with no luck.
Followed all the rules, ran the cleaner
The update problem has always been there as long as I can remember. I think the issue started with Mountain Lion when I lost access to printers via CS3 and Illustrator/Photoshop would frequently crash after a layer "move".
Since like everyone else Ie paid a small fortune for this software, I finally decided I needed to do everything I could to update it, but am still unable to!
    2. Since recently upgrading to Yosemite, Illustrator launch is very random - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.
    - Have installed Java RunTime as mentioned in forums, hasn't helped.
Slightly at my wits end here with this madness, any workarounds or solutions much appreciated, especially for point 1.
    Many thanks!

Hi venkatnil, I am suddenly having the same problem with my CS3 after recently upgrading to Yosemite. I have actually been working with Photoshop, InDesign and even opened Illustrator to make sure I still could. No problems until one morning I couldn't open Photoshop. It was saying it "could not initialize because it couldn't find the disk". But just Photoshop; all the others still work fine.
So, I have another disk (not the one that originally installed CS3 all those years ago) to load Photoshop CS3. But it won't load and says "required resources are missing".
Looking around here for some answers I saw your post and realized that I've always had that same problem with the updater not able to find internet connection, too. AND I had to download an older version of Java RunTime, which seemed to go smoothly.
Now that a month or so have passed, I'm hoping you found a way to deal with this problem and can share it with me?! Or have we run into some small bug between CS3 and Yosemite that no one is going to bother with?

  • Enabling AFP traffic through firewall

I have set the access for specific services and applications in the firewall settings. I frequently enable AFP-filesharing. Even though the AFP protocol appears in the list for allowed services when enabled, connections are not possible until I disable firewall altogether. This, however, is laborious and undesirable security-wise. Is it possible to use AFP while the firewall is still running?

Yes it is -- I do. How is Sys Prefs > Sharing > File Sharing > Shared Folders and Users (for each shared folder) set up? (You will need to unlock the padlock to show users and their permissions).
In the interim, is this computer confined to a residential network? Do you implicitly trust all the other users on your home network? If wireless (who isn't?), are you using WPA2 with a strong password? If so, then if the home router has NAT enabled and its port-based firewall is keeping all the riffraff out, I wouldn't be too overly concerned while you are trying to get this working the way that it should.
