You haven't posted ANYTHING showing that you cannot connect to that user using sql*plus.
If you have a problem connecting post the EXACT command you are using and the results that you get.
When doing tnsping PDBORCL --> TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name
What is wrong ?
What is 'wrong' is that 'PDBORCL' is NOT a service name. The service name is 'pdborcl.fr.oracle.com'.
Use s service name when you use tnsping.

I installed Mountain Lion on my iMac. Now I cannot access the Internet. All the other computers and tablets on the network have no problem. I did PRAM and MC reset, modem reset, etc., all the usual ju-ju. I also cannot connect on my local network to any other computer. Yet Network control panel says I am connect to the modem, and Network Diagnosis says I am connected to the Internet. It's like the blind man who has eyes that cannot see. BTW, I am not some newbee. I have been a Machead since the early nineties and set up a half dozen networks, including the one I am using at home to which the iMac mysteriously is there but not. This has me stumped! I am considering going back to 10.7!

  • How to connect to the local user database ??

    Hi,
how can i connect to the local oracle ltie database that is created
for each individual user (with msql or sqlplus) ?? I created a
user ms and published an app the user can access. In the oldb40
directory there is a "ms" directory which contains the database
for the user ("demoapp.odb"). The DSN Name "ms_demoapp" exists
and points to the correct directory and file. But how can i
connect to that database with msql or sqlplus. I tried all
possible combination of an url string i can think of, but
    nothing did work.
Any ideas ?? Thanks in Advance.
    ms

But were you able to connect to the database and make a query on the table you have made through the application. I have tried the todo List example and have seen that the data is stored in a file. But I am not very sure how to query the database using msql. Pls help!
    Thanks in advance,
    Rajiv.

  • Cannot connect as a new user to second database from SQLPLUS

    Hello,
I've created a new database with CREATEDB POLITE jantest.
I connected via sqlplus as system/mgr@ODBC:POLITE:jantest. This
works fine, I run de poldemo.sql file and that worked fine also.
Then I created a user jan identified by jan. Then I tried to
connect to this user with SQLPLUS as
jan/jan@ODBC:POLITE:jantest. I get an error message that the
user does not exist. Then I tried to connect as
scott/tiger@ODBC:POLITE:jantest. This worked, however is was
then connected to the default 'polite' database.
Has anyone experienced the same kind of weird problems.

    Response:
when you create a database under oracle lite, you first
configure this database via ODBC(for example give to this
database a sourcename jan) then connect to this database using
system/manager@jan. Thenafter you should grant previllege ddl to
    user jan before connecting :
    grant ddl to jan
and now you can connect using : connect jan/jan@jan

  • Cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:8080/apex or /htmldb (home page problems)

    Hello there,
After installing for the first time the Database 11g Express Edition on my PC, I cannot connect to the local host, in order to access the home page of the database. The error encountered is from the browser, saying that it cannot find the page. Please help.
This question is posted after *7 hours* of searching the web (mainly on this forum) on which I haven't found my solution, so please read the following before you answer:
    OS: Windows 7 Ultra 32bit
Operating port - the default 8080, which is not used by any other service at this moment (verified with netstat)
Status of Listener: running (verified with lstnerl status)
Browser: Chrome with no proxy (whatsoever)
Services running (and restarted to make sure): OracleServiceXe, OracleXETNSListener and I have manually started OracleXeClrAgent and MTSRecovery
Database: running, according to the "Start Database" batch
    Observations:
    - when issuing netstat in the above presented conditions, I have nothing on port 8080, where the HTTP Server should be
    - according to the executable made by ORACLE, my database is running but when trying to connect with "sqlplus /nolog" as "system" it gives me error number 01033: initialization or shutdown in progress, which is weird. Even weirder is that the prompt changes to SQL, after this error (like nothing happened).
I don't know what to do, honestly. I have tried everything that I found in the search section until the moment, but nothing helped. Can you please lay it out to me, in a simple form so that anyone could understand? My knowledge is limited, this is the first time when I play with Oracle.

I have not find such a file. And the only thing available in Oradata is an empty folder, called XE.
L.E: Oh wait, I found it.

  • Windows 7 remote desktop connection cannot logoff the local user

Windows 7 remote desktop connection cannot logoff the local user
    Remote Desktop connection:
(This experience is from Windows 7 remote to Windows Embedded Standard 7 computer)
I used Remote Desktop to try to log on to a Windows 7 (WES7E) computer and someone is already logged on locally (Console Session), I saw a message like this:
"Another user is currently logged on to this computer.  If you continue, this user has to disconnect from this computer.  Do you want to continue?"
    I click on Yes.
Then I saw "Please wait for [username] to respond".  No action from the logged-on local user, I waited for 30 seconds, then I was able to login the computer and at the same time was able to disconnect the logged-on local user.
    Question:
    1. "Another user is currently logged on to this computer..." message doesn't show me the actual logged-on user name.  Is there any way to show the user name in this pop-up message?
    2. After waiting for 30 seconds, I was able to login the computer and the logged-on local user is disconnected, however this local user is never been logged-off.  I wanted to logoff the local user (with Console Session) when I made the connection remotely
to the computer from remote desktop (Just like Windows XP)  Is there any group policy can change the behavior?
The policies I have looked at are:
Local Computer Policy | Computer Config | Admin Templates | Windows Components | Remote Desktop Services|Connections|Deny
logoff of an administrator logged in to the console session => disabled
    Regards,
    Mei Davis

    Hi ,
These behavior is by design. There is no way to change that. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Connecting Outlook 2013 for a local user

We’re having trouble connecting a users connecting a domain user’s Outlook 2013 to our Exchange 2013 server. The user has a domain user account, and an Exchange mailbox.
    However;
The user in question uses a PC that is physically connected to the network, but isn’t a domain-joined machine. The user is using a locally-provisioned account on the PC.
The machine can query internal DNS servers, and has network connectivity through to the Exchange server.
The user can successfully log in to OWA, where everything functions as normal. The user wishes to use Outlook 2013 for archiving of PST files.
We are having issues creating a mail profile for the user, whether manually configuring or utilising autodiscover.
With autodiscover, the user enters her name, email address and password in the initial wizard in Outlook 2013. 2 of the 3 steps succeed, before ‘The action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list’ error window is displayed.
Is this because Exchange is having issues with the account being used to create the profile (the local user account on the PC)?
Now what’s really odd, is that when using Outlook 2013 away from the network (at home), with any PC, the autodiscover method succeeds. What is causing it to fail internally?
So, with the autodiscover method out of the window, we turned to manually configuring the profile.
The local name of the Exchange server is entered for the server name, with the user’s email address for the username.
In ‘More Settings’, the connection tab is configured to ‘Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP’.
The URL used to connect the proxy server for Exchange, is the external name used for OWA. This is the same address used when the user is using OWA internally/externally, which works without issue.
Options ‘Connect using SSL only’, along with ‘Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate’ are selected with
    msstd:<external FQDN name> being entered.
Basic Authentication is selected for the proxy authentication settings section.
    The user is then prompted for credentials. The following formats have been attempted;
    Domain.local\username
    Email Address
    [email protected]
The correct password is used, but nothing is accepted.
How can we get Outlook 2013 configured for this non-domain joined PC?
    Many thanks.

The first problem is, if this Exchange 2013 then the server name in Outlook isn't really a server name, it is in actuality the ExchangeGUID of the mailbox.
Since you are trying to access the mailbox from a machine that is not on the domain you will need to make sure the externalURLs resolve properly internally.  Meaning either the user can access them by going out to the internet and getting routed back
in (not ideal) or you configure them to resolve to the internal IPs on your internal DNS servers.
Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread
    Thank you for your reply.
As I mentioned, this machine can query internal DNS servers without issue. Autodiscover is working in a fashion, as the name of the mail server is hashed.
In an update to the post, I have exported a working profile from the registry of the machine for a domain user, and have imported for a local user. This actually works, but I'd still like to know the reason for not being able to configure it in the first
    instance.

I suspect the problem is to do with Kerberos and in relation to this server being an OD Replica.
I would really appreciate anyone's insight into this.
    Thanks

I have the same problem although I upgraded from Lion Server to Mountain Lion Server. The error appears to go hand in hand with this error.
userInit: CFPreferences: user home directory for user kCFPreferencesCurrentUser at /Network/Servers/fullyqualifieddomainname/Users/user is unavailable. User domains will be volatile.
I've read a number of things to try. A lot of people point to DNS being a problem, but I'm confident this is correct in my environment.

  • RD Gateway Manager cannot connect to local server

    Hi,
I've come across a problem today where I'm unable to connect to our locally hosted RD Gateway server. We have one Server 2012 R2 machine with the Remote Desktop Services installed. The system was setup following the configuration wizard in Remote Desktop
Services section of Server Manager. One of our users has gone to connect to the main remote app hosted by this setup and received an expired certificate error. No problem I thought, checked the certificate on the server and it does indeed expire today. I'll
re-issue a self signed certificate through the RD Gateway Manager and all should be ok. On loading the RD Gateway Manager, clicking Connect to RD Gateway Server and selecting Local Server I get the following error.
"The RD Gateway Manager snap-in console cannot connect to the server "SERVER" because it is not a RD Gateway server."
I've checked that the services for remote desktop are running which they are, and I can connect to the server using standard RDP remote desktop.  Any ideas on where to go next to solve this problem?
    Rob

    Hi Rob,
It seems the issue related to certificate as can’t properly configured. You need to import the certificate and store in local computer/personal store. Please check below article and verify the steps for certificate and other related setting,
RDS: The RD Gateway server must be configured to use a valid SSL certificate
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd320340(v=ws.10).aspx
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Exchange active sync cannot connect to server after migration mailbox user from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 coexistence

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :
Testing TCP port 443 on host domain.co.id to ensure it's listening and open.
The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.
A network error occurred while communicating with the remote host.

The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response.

    Elapsed Time: 21049 ms.
I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem
for users who moved from Exch 2007 to Exch 2013. @Android, iPhone, and Blackberry the error message "cannot connect to the server"

  • Cannot connect to newly created SQL 2008 R2 instance. Login failed for user...

I'm not a SQL guy, just figuring my way around here...
I just created a new instance on an existing SQL server. The original instance works fine. On
Database Engine Configuration > Account Provisioning
I selected Windows authentication mode and added several users, myself among them.
Tried to log in with one my account and getting:

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Login failed for user 'domain\myusername'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)
    Guidance/suggestions?

  • EA2 - Cannot connect LDAP-authenticated users in 10.1 and 10.2, OK in 9.2

First, the relevant versions and such:
    SQL Developer 1.5.0.52.03 (aka EA2)
    Oracle client 10.2.0.1
    Oracle database 9.2.0.6, 9.2.0.7, 10.1.0.5, 10.2.0.2, 10.2.0.3.
    Hosts: Linux x86, Solaris
Most of the users in my databases are set up as global users (i.e. authenticated via LDAP). I've found that in 9.2.0.6 and 9.2.0.7, I can make connections of the basic type for global users as well as database-authenticated users.
In any 10g database I've tried (see the versions above), database-authenticated users work fine, but for connections with the global users in the same databases I receive ora-01017. I've tried both basic connections and advanced connections, supplying a thin JDBC string, with the same result. I have verified that the password is correct. The pattern persists across server OSs (Linux and Solaris).
I cannot make TNS connections at all, but that seems to require an 11g client and has been documented in an enhancement request separately.
If anyone has advice on this I would be happy to hear it. Thanks.

I should probably add that I am able to make successful connections via sqlplus and other tools (SQL Navigator) with the users that fail to connect in SQL Developer.

  • "Cannot connect to server" error when setting up MAMP local server in Dreamweaver cc 2014

I am trying to set up my Wordpress 4.1 site with MAMP 3.0.7.3 in Dreamweaver cc 2014, but I am getting a "Cannot connect to server" error when trying to view the site live. The site works fine on the localhost:8888. I am using OS X Yosemite and PHP 5.6.2. Below are screenshots of my Dreamweaver settings. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Subhadeep!
Think I'm getting closer (Lol). I did as you suggested and changed the web url to http://localhost:8888/Documents/projects/whoknew/. As you suggested I moved the local site to the Documents folder under the sub-folder projects. It is connecting to the server, but now I am getting the requested url cannot be found on the server. Below are screenshots of my current settings.
