"Cannot get parameter type" exception in logs

Hello, Everyone!
I am trying to migrate my old Birt reports to a new runtime version (and new designing capabilities as well). The reports get rendered correctly after migration but I experience some lack of performance (quite significant actually). When I check logs I see lots of SEVERE exceptions concerning report parameters which probably affect the delay.
Technical parameters:
Database: Oracle 11g
AS: Apache Tomcat 7.0.26
Java: 1.7.0_67
JDBC Driver: ojdbc6.jar or ojdbc7.jar (described below)
old Birt Viewer Runtime version: 2.5.2
new Birt Viewer Runtime version: 4.4.2 (the latest)
The exceptions are following:
Apr 07, 2015 7:55:40 PM org.eclipse.birt.data.engine.odaconsumer.PreparedStatement doSetNull( int )
SEVERE: Cannot set a null value to parameter 147.
org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.JDBCException: Cannot set preparedStatement null value.

These exceptions probably refer to dataset (query) parameters rather than to report parameters because of their numbers and total amount.
The first exception "Cannot set preparedStatement null" seems to be thrown for all parameters that are initially nulls. The second exception "Cannot get parameter type" seems to be thrown for all parameters (twice for some).
The second one probably has something to do with this bug: https:\//bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=384925 Although it is declared to be fixed in an earlier Birt runtime version (4.2.1) and I'm using a later one (4.4.2).
The first one gets critical if I change the Oracle jdbc driver to the new and the most appropriate one (ojdbc7.jar), which should be a better choice because I have Java 7. Older driver ojdbc6.jar renders the report but writes the exception to the logfile, the newer one produces the following in browser:

The exceptions raise even in such a simple case. Of course it doesn't take minutes to show, but concerning my report with several datasets taking more than 200 parameters in total, the response time drastically raised from about 30-40 seconds up to 3 minutes.
So I need help!

Hello,
Were you able to solve this problem and how?
Thanks

  • FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA attributes from Parameter List: in

    Hi,
    I am pretty sure this is a webutil message. I am running 10g through OC4J, all was working well one minute then on startup of the form I get these 2 message 4 or 5 times:-
    FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA attributes from Parameter List: invalid list ID.
    followed by:
    FRM-47007: Cannot get parameter WUC_DATA_MULTIPART attributes from Parameter List: invalid list ID.
    These 2 message are repeated 4 or 5 times then things appear to run fine, I can open and read files, transfer them etc. The only thing I can think I have done differently is add a bean to a data block but when I remove the bean and restart the OC4J I still get the messages.
    Any ideas?

    Fixed,
    I dropped the WEBUTIL object group then added it again by adding the object library then subclassing it to the object group. The error messages are gone.
    Cheers

    I think the problem is in jdbc
    but exhausted my ideas on how to fix
    this
    where:
    ODI already reinstalled 11
    checked path in SO (JAVA_HOME, ODI_JAVA_HOME am using C: \ Program Files \ Java \ bin \ jdk1.6.0_23)
    ORACLE_CLASSES am using C: \ oracle \ product \ 10.2.0 \ client_1 \ jdbc \ lib \ ojdbc14.jar
    and
    ORACLE_HOME is using C: \ oracle \ product \ 10.2.0 \ client_1
    My OS is windows vista business (the client machine odi11)
    connecting to the database oracle11
    have any suggestions for a procedure, something that did not, forgot or did not even know.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ankit Jain
    yes it's the second option,
    exactly the error occurs when I click the icon to select the repository of work - work_dev
    then this exception is generated
    =
    I select for the field
    Drivers List -
    the value >> Oracle JDBC Driver
    and then is placed in the Driver Name field
    value>> oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
    and after I put a URL
    jdbc: oracle: thin: @ (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = sss.rrr3.ttttj.ggg.br) (PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = RRR3) ))
    It should say
    that
    This is occurring on a machine, but others the same configuration is working
    I think it's something of the environment on this machine,
    but no longer know what to test
    grateful for your attention.

  • Cannot get software to stay in log in itmes

    iclip, cool add on used to stay in log in items ok, but now wont stick, anything
    I can do? software is discontinued so I cannot ask the developer. thanks

    Ok, instead of playing guessing games back and forth, can you upload that iclip stuff to one of the software download sites (e.g., mediafire, rapidshare, etc.) and gvie me the link so I can look at it myself?  Of course if  you already have a place I could just download it from that's fine too.  There's stuff matching the string "iclip" on macupdate but I am not sure any of those matches are the one you are using (unless you say otherwise).

  • I cannot get Dashlane 2.0 to log me in through firefox.

    I have removed all designations for proxy settings and when I go to login to Dashlane, I get an error message saying "check your internet connection."

    Hi Grandpagolf1, are you the same person who posted originally?
    It's possible that one or more other extensions is interfering with Dashlane adding its button to the toolbar. Could you try disabling all nonessential extensions (by nonessential I mean you could live without it for 24 hours) and see whether that helps?
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category ''(in the left column, click Extensions)''
    Usually a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the add-ons page and click the link as the last step.

  • Cannot send complex type as method parameter

    Cannot send complex type as method parameter
    Hi!
    I'm using a kSOAP 1.2 client and i'm having trouble executing a method that takes an object
    of complex type as parameter:
    method:
    public void addSquareDetail(SquareDetail sd){/stuff}
    -SquareDetail is a java bean class that implements KvmSerializable
    - a mapping was added to classmap
    -legacy namespace is not an issue (i AM able to execute the following methods successfully
    over kSOAP):
    -getting one SquareDetail object
    -getting a vector of squareDetail objects
    Here's how i'm trying to call the 'send' method:
         ClassMap classMap = new ClassMap();
    classMap.addMapping("urn:SquareWebService/types", "SquareDetail", (new
    SquareDetail()).getClass());
    System.out.println("add one SquareDetail");
    request = new SoapObject(serviceURN, "addSquareDetail");
    sd = new SquareDetail();
    request.addProperty("SquareDetail_1", sd);
    tx = new HttpTransport(this.endPointURL, "addSquareDetail");
    tx.debug = true;
    tx.setClassMap(classMap);
    tx.call(request); //exception here
    (above:)
    private String endPointURL = "http://localhost:8080/SquareWebService/SquareWebService";
    protected static final String serviceURN = "urn:SquareWebService/wsdl";

    So, apparently, the request message is not understood by the server. what exactly is it
    missing, and how can i add/correct that? (my guess in SquareDetail_1 xmlns="" should be
    "urn:SquareWebService/types", although it's just a guess AND i don't know how to make kSOAP
    get it in there)
    I'm not sure what kind of SOAP parser my app server utilizes, but i'm guessing it's an
    apache product (how can i tell?). I also have a WSDL file available, should anyone be
    willing to look at it, please let me know
    thanks
    -nikita

    Don't know if it will help but Can you check if the serializable object has a public empty no args constructor with an empty call to super()
    Also make sure that a type mapping registry is added with a reference to the serializable object in it.
    Please paste The WSDL as well

  • Using GenericPortlet sublcass .. cannot get any log messages to come out.

    Hi all ..
    I'm having a lot of problems getting any exceptions or log messages dumped from my portlet to help me debug.
    I'm currently using subclass of javax.portlet.GenericPortlet and not a sublcass of com.sun.portal.providers.jsp.JSPProvider. Does that matter? Anyone know if there are issues that I might be running into here?
    More details ..
    I've tried making nice PortletException wrappers around all sorts of other exceptions .. and even using the API call:
    GenericPortlet.getPortletContext().log(<msg>,<throwable> )
    I've tweaked every debug/log/show exception config setting I can find .. including setting logger.log.level=ALL in:
    /etc/opt/SUNWps/portlet/PDConfig.properties
    It'll mostly fail with nada .. zilch .. zero. No hint or reason why. Occasionally I'll get something useful and I'll see an exception I made .. but the other 95% of the time I get no hint.
    I've a script that searches for any file touched in /opt/SUNW*, /var/opt/SUNW* and /etc/opt/SUNW*. I regularly get the following files touched:
    /var/opt/SUNWam/debug/portletcontainer.log
    /var/opt/SUNWam/debug/<myportlet>.log
    /var/opt/SUNWam/debug/desktop.debug
    Can anyone tell me where I should expect to see PortletExceptions logged? How do I turn that feature on .. just in case I've missed the config I need to change? Has anyone had any luck using the PortletContext.log(<msg>,<throwable) API calls? Is there some config that controls where that goes? (I would've assumed it all goes in the <myportlet>.log file .. but not for me.)
    Many thanks for your time ..
    Curtis.
    p.s. Below is an example of some of the messages I do see.
    One instance I get "ERROR: Content not available" .. I get a series of
    rather unhelpful internal exceptions that (for example) complain the portlet threw an exception of some sort. If only the root cause had been printed out it would be possible to nail exactly what's going on in my code that's the issue. Unfortunately this style of "black box" debugging is taking me 10 times (literally .. honestly!) longer than it should. I have to comment out stuff and slowly add it back in again .. if only I could've seen the exception.
    (NOTE: I modifed PrefPortlet.java example .. still called the same at the minute :-) )

  • Cannot get URL web part filter to pass Parameter to List web part

    How do I wire an out-of-the-box URL web part filter to a SharePoint 2013 list (or "app" as renamed in 2013) web part when the list has a parameter?
    My SharePoint list uses a parameter because it needs a Contains filter, as in
         <Where>
          <Contains>
           <FieldRef Name="MyFieldName"/>
           <Value Type="Note">{MyParam}</Value>
          </Contains>
         </Where>
    The ParameterBinding is defined simply.
    <ParameterBinding Name="CohortParam" DefaultValue=""/>
    It has had Location="None" in the past, but another forum entry that I read suggested removing that.
    When I add the list (or "app" in SharePoint 2013) to a web part page and also add a URL Filter web part, the URL filter cannot see the parameter. The menu chain Connection >> Send Filter Values To >> [My List web part name] shows
    the dialogue. On the "Choose Connection" tab, I choose "Get Parameter Values From". Clicking the "Configure" button results in the "Configure Connection" tab having the message "The Consumer Web Part did not
    provide schema information".

    Hi Randy,
    You need to change the "MyParam" to "CohortParam", for parameterbinding element we need to add the location attribute as below codeline, then when we use the QueryString "CohortParam" with value in url, it will directly
    filter the list web part items without adding URL Filter web part.
    <ParameterBinding Name="CohortParam" Location="QueryString(CohortParam)" DefaultValue=""/>
    I attached my resutls as below image (also "MyParam" can be changed to "CohortParam" if you want), you can take a look.
