Cannot hear out of right earphone

hey guys so when i got the phone i had to twist the earphone jack to listen to the right earphone and the left one worked fine, couple weeks later the earphone jack from the earphones had snapped inide the phone. I Had then clawed the earphone jack out and then when i now try to listen to music i have to twist and out the earphone jack in an exact place just to listen to the left one and the right one does not work at all and i only got the phone on christmas. Pretty dissapointed but is there anyways i can fix this?? Clean out the jack? Play with it? Any solution would help thank you

Take it back to Apple for appraisal. If it was like that from new at Christmas, it could be a warranty job.

Just got a new ipod nano. Used to work great but recently I can only hear music out of the right earphone. Switching headphones did not help. Any suggestions.

Sounds like the headphone jack in the iPod is defective and needs replacement. Have you tried cleaning the jack?

Cannot hear out of ear speaker

Just made a phone call and could not hear out of the ear speaker. When I tried to increase the speaker level the phone indicated that I was increasing the head phone level. I tried the same routine with my wife's Iphone and it did not indicate that the head phone level was increasing. It appears that my phone believes my head phones are connected. This issued occurred several days after I have used ear phones. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I hate to have the only options are to use bluetooth or head phones.

Well both. The connections made in jack causes software to activate/deactivate how and where it sends sound output.
Dirt/lint inside while putting in or out jack causes mix up in connectors as it slides in and out having the software miss the signal due to no connection.

Shuffle only plays music out of right earphone.

I have had my Ipod Shuffle 2nd generation for years with no problems. I have always used aftermarket earphones with no problems. Then suddenly one day the left side stopped working. Naturally I thought I needed new earphones. Not at all...I bought new ones and had the same exact issue. So...then I thought I needed a new Ipod. I bought the Shuffle 4th gen. I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. My iPod and my sony earbuds had lasted me for years, but in a two-day period, both my sonys and my backup pair of knock-offs stopped functioning properly. I looked around online, and found that it's caused by the wiring and inner components in the left earbud getting worn out because it's the one that carries the bass as well as the melody. You really have only two options: 1) you can get instructions on how to take apart the earbud and possibly find the broken part, but most likely not be able to fix it, or 2) you can just get one more pair of headphones. Nothing expensive, but not too cheap—I've found that around the 14 dollar range seems to last a long time. Hope this helped.

- Do the heradphones work OK in other devices? Do other headpohones work OK in the iPad?
- Make sue the plug is fully inserted in the jack
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPad. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPad: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPad.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I have the 4s. I have recently restored my settings and cleaned out the ports. I still cannot hear my audio for music or videos. My volume on the side of the phone does not work either. Everything workds in the setting menu. It is not a speaker issue because the ringtone works when people are calling and I can listen to the different ringtones as well. My notifications and text message audio does not work. My phone does not say that it is on a dock. When I try listening to music, the volume adjustment appears, but it is gray and unusable. Everything works when headphones are in plugged in and when it is on the dock. This started with the last iPhone update. What else can I do... this is becoming very frustrating.

Really strange problem you have there. I have a few questions though.
Please try again and try to make the phone as a new without restoringen with you iCloud-data or backup-data from iTunes. Maybe it is something wrong with the data (strange).
Anyway, i think you should call Apple Support or visit an Apple Store, don't forgot to make a Genius Bar reservation.

I now have the pallete on the right side of my screen. But, I am unable to change the color of the brush. I move the eye dropper over red and click on it. A panel comes saying 'Pure Red', I click ok but the brush color does not change.

My iPod plays extremely softly out of the right earphone

I own a 30GB iPod, which for months was working perfectly fine, then one day the right earphone played very softly. I know that it isn't the headphones because when I use other headphones, it is exactly the same way. It plays perfectly out of the usb jack on speakers. Can somebody tell me why this is, and if so, how to fix it without sending it to Apple?

You could try a Restore, but I'm not sure that will fix it. Is it still under warranty? It sounds like a hardware issue, and I think it will probably require sending in for repairs.
